BOR object cannot use function module as method

Hi All,
I have a function module with an import parameter referring to data element DE_ABC. BOR indicates that it doesn't support this data type. However, if I define a DB table with a field whose type is DE_ABC and use that field as reference in FM interface definition, that FM can be used by the BOR object. Does anybody have any idea about this issue?

Hello,
Please always mention version. It may help if you told us what data type, but to give a theoretical answer I'd say this would be correct behaviour.
BOR is old, it was created to bring some kind of OO to then procedural ABAP. It has also not changed much, therefore doesn't support some of the newer data types. On the other hand it doesn't look at the components of a structure, so placing an unsupported element into a structure is a perfect workaround.
Be careful however when using deep structures or one of the variable length types such as STRING. As I use classes most of the time I have no idea how they would behave but a quick test should verify whether it works.

Error with quantity field:Datasource Creation Using Function Module method

Problem with DATASOURCE Creation using Function Module method :
I have created a datasource ZSTANDARD_COST_PRICE using Function Module method . The datasource creation is successfull when I remove the quantity field from the Z table . If I dont remove the quantity field from my Z table it gives an error as "Units Field WAERS for field STPRS of datasource ZSTANDARD_COST_PRICE is hidden". I am not able to remove this error . Please someone guide.

Hi,
You should add it as one of the main fields as you have added other fields and not as the currency fields...that is..it should be part of the data source and you should be able to see it in RSO2...
Also if added as i said then it will come as new field in the data source...you can either let it be there...or hide it..
also if you want to populate it then you will have to write the code for this fields as well.

Using function module PT_ARQ_REQUEST_EXECUTE to approve leave requests

I'm building a screen to approve or reject multiple leave requests using function module PT_ARQ_REQUEST_EXECUTE as the SAP standard program RPTARQAPP does, and this seems to be working fine. However, I also need to include a note from the approver which is a bit of long text that ends up in table PTREQ_NOTICE. This is something that RPTARQAPP does not do.
I cannot find any way of passing this text into PT_ARQ_REQUEST_EXECUTE. The only way I can find of doing this is to call FM PT_ARQ_REQUEST_PREPARE first (command = PREPARE_APPROVE), update the CURR_NOTICE field it sends back in structure EX_REQUEST, then pass the changed EX_REQUEST structure into FM PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK (command = CHECK_APPROVE) and then call PT_ARQ_REQUEST_EXECUTE (command = EXECUTE_APPROVE). This works fine for a single leave request, but when I try to use this process to approve two leave requests the CHECK FM gives me an error on the second record with a message referring to a time conflict with the first message even though the dates on each are not the same.
I've searched and there are a few posts about these FMs, but I still can't fix this problem. Has anyone ever dealt with this situation before and found a solution?

I've replaced the call to FM PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK with the following and it seems to work pretty well. Though of course it will need a lot more testing.

Process an Interactive Form in a function module or method

Hello,
If I process an interactive form in a report everthing works fine. But when I execute the same coding in a function module or method nothing works! The call of the function module fm_name returns sy-subrc = 1 (usage error).
I believe that function call of 'FP_JOB_OPEN' cause the problems. I can't spool this job in an function module or method.
What can I do for using interactive Forms in a method.
If anybody had the same problem a piece of of coding will help.

When i use function module KKPI_BDC_ADD_ON_COSTS_CREATE to create additive costs it shows an error. The error is 'THE OBJECT IS LOCKED BY THE USER SARKARD' the transaction it uses is CK74 for creating.
I have also read about KKP4_ADD_ON_COSTS_CREATE. But i dont know the usage of it..
I think it will be helpful if u can clarify with first FM.

SAVE_TEXT
SAVE_TEXT writes a text module back to the text file or the text memory, depending on the storage mode of the corresponding text object.
You can use this module either to change existing texts or to create new texts. If you know for sure that the text is new, use the parameter INSERT to indicate this. The system then does not have to read the text first, which improves the performance of the function module.
