Border FX PResets gone

Upgraded to Aperture 3.4 and all my Border FX plug-in presets are missing. As well, I'm seeing SWOD (spinning wheel of death) when importing watermarks.
such a pain.
Any suggestions?
Will my other plug-ins exhibit similar issues?

hey there,
i have a 2 month old install of aftere effects cc on my mac pro,
in the beginning i could browse my presets easily, since some days
they are gone.
i have them checked in the drop down menu to the right.
also when i browse presets in adobe bridge, and then try
to doubleclick them i get an error.

All pressure sensitive brush presets gone!

I work with Ps Creative Suite 6.
Suddenly all the pressure sensitive brush presets are gone- leaving me with only hard brushes that produce 1-size-only brush strokes.
No matter what brush I choose, I can't manage to make them pressure sensitive now.
These (red arrows) are the brush presets which are now gone:

Can anyone tell me why they vanished for no apparent reason?
I work with those brushes 97% of the time, I really need them back!

WB presets gone

I've been using the beta 4.1 until Monday when I DL V1. Now all I get for Wb are: Auto, As shot, custom. Everything else is gone.
This is for JPEGs. I can still use all the options for RAW. This sucks because one of the main reasons I bought LR was for the WB presets to JPEGs.
Any ideas?

As it's a JPEG, there won't be any WB shooting information in the file for Lightroom to work with.
I've always found the presets, including Auto, to be a very rough start at best and downright wrong at worst. I prefer to use the WB dropper on every file type then tweek the sliders if necessary.

All Presets gone after Update from 3.4.1 to 3.5

Just updated LR 3.4.1 on a Man to 3.5. After I put the LR.app inti the App-Folder and started LR all of my presets were deleted.
They were saved in the /user/library/application support/etc. folder before and now they're gone (unfortunately I didn't saved my presets within the catalog)
I'm very annoyed about this because I have changed 12 export presets some days ago and haven't ran time machine after it.
I wasn't aware, that an update LR will kill my presets. Is there any way to get them back?

In your OS find and look into the folder where your presets were stored previously. If you can still see them you're in luck. Just copy them to the new LR Presets folder.
Otherwise you're OOL. You know the remedy for this already: store your presets with the catalog.

User Presets Gone From LR4 But Show in LR5

My user presets do not appear in LR4 since I installed the LR5 Beta, but they do show up in LR5. How do I get them back into LR4?

Try this: In Preferences / Presets tab / Location either uncheck the box <Store presets with this catalog>, or check it if it is unchecked.

Where are my presets gone?

Current LR3 user (3.6) on windows. I store all my presets with the catalog.
Bought LR4 installed, and then migrated my catalog to LR4 version (it created a copy of the catalog with new name).
But I don't see any of my presets migrate to LR4, import presets, Metadata presets, printing presets, file renaming presets. None of them are visible in LR4.
I close LR4, open LR3 and they're all there.
So how do I transfer all my user presets from LR3 to LR4?

Hi,
When you check the option "store presets with catalog", then the presets are saved in lightroom settings folder which is placed in the location where the catalog is located. In this case Presets are not saved in the default location i.e, C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom.. (Here Appdata is hidden folder)
Hence, when we try to use the LR 3 catalog in LR 4, then in the process of upgrading the catalog, the presets are not found by LR 4 in the default location and thats the reason there will be no presets available in LR 4.
But if the option "store presets with catalog" is unchecked, then after conversion and upgradation of the catalog, all the presets will be available in LR 4 with all the settings that wrere in LR 3
There are few modifications in the develop module in LR 4, so there wil be exclamation mark at the bottom right corner of the image in develop module, when you click that it will give option to update the process version , after updating the process version , the new settings and sliders will be visible
So if you want to use the old process version then new settings and sliders will not be available
NOTE : If a Preset was created with Process 2010, then LR4 will use it with Process 2010. If you change the image to Process 2012, then you move away from the preset adjustment parameters and you no longer are using the preset. So, in summary, you can still use the LR3 Presets, but you lose any new LR4 features and functionality. You can start with a preset from LR3, change the process to Process 2012 and tweak the image adjustment parameters to your satisfaction and then save that as a new preset. The result would be an upgraded version of your old preset.

Where have all the PRINTING presets GONE?

Even in the mac store they are gone.
Example, say you have a document and you want to reduce the size using quartz filter, before, it used to show "copies and pages" now it just says "last used", what happened to all the color, pages, duplex (if your printer has it) and all the many options that used to be there before 10.5.2?

Develop presets gone after installing LR 1.0

Hi all,
Having a small issue here. I upgraded to 1.0 30 day trial - and all the Adobe develop presets have disappeared. Right now I have absolutely no presets. How can I get these back? I am on a Mac by the way.
I have tried to uninstall LR but can not figure out how to do it.

You didn't read the documentation, it's made clear there.
New location

Pdf presets gone

For some reason the default pdf presets where deleted from my Mac. The ones like [smallest file size], [press quality] and [print quality]. They weren't present in the default location either (library, application support, adobe, adobePDF). So I copied them from a second machine. This seemed to work, however, the names are in Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator now in English, while I installed CS3 in Dutch. Only in Acrobat Pro the names are still in Dutch. On all machines CS3 was installed in the Dutch language. The pdf presets have English names on all machines, but this shouldn't matter? The other machine is using the same default pdf preset files with English names but when I do an export in Indesign still displays the name in Dutch like it should. How do I make the names in every application in Dutch again, just like Acrobat does?

Before doing any of that, however, I believe another user mentioned last month that replacing their prefs brought the presets back, so it might be worth trying that first. See Replace Your Preferences and use the Manual method after making a backup.

Lens presets gone

after switching to PS CC my lens correction profiles are gone. installed LR again but they still don't show up... Any advice someone?

Audition 2 & 3 presets gone missing? How to re-establish them.

It's a good scheme to back up your Audition 2.0 (or 3.0) workspaces and preferences from time to time even if things are running well. To do so is quite simple.
1. Close Audition
2. Go to C:\Documents and settings\{yourusername}\Application Data\Adobe\Audition
3. You should see a folder named 2.0 (or 3.0) - make a copy of the whole folder and its contents and call it "My last 2.0" [or 3.0, or whatever] using normal Windows procedures.
If you then want to reset your preferences to the "factory install" state, delete the original "2.0" or "3.0" folder. When you restart Audition, it will be re-created automatically, and in its default state. But doing so will erase your own preferences and workspaces, so do not do that unless you have a backup first - or even two.
In the future, if you've had a problem you may need selectively to restore (copy) the files or folders from "My last 2.0 (or 3.0)" into "2.0 (or 3.0)", as they contain important setups and customisations which you'll probably want to have back. Here's a list of some of them:-
DefaultWorkspaces [folder] - contains the "factory" workspaces. Audition expects to find the contents there under the original names, but if you want you can replace them with defaults of your own devising, using the same names - but under normal circumstances, leave them alone.
OriginalUserWorkspaces [folder] - these are in essence backups of the workspaces you have saved yourself. If (using the program's relevant option) you restore a workspace after having amended it, Audition will use the the version of the workspace in this folder.
UserWorkspaces [folder] - these are the current versions of workspaces you have created yourself. If you restore a workspace after having amended it, Audition will replace the amended workspace in this folder with the original one from the OriginalUserWorkspaces folder.

User presets and external plug-ins missing after V 2.6 upgrade

I just upgraded to V2.6 and noticed that all my user Presets for Develope and Print Modules have gone missing. It also happened to all the third party plug-ins software. While the software can be re installed, are the missing user presets gone forever? Isn't LR intelligent enough to leave the user presets alone during an upgrade? Doesn't LR back them up like the catalogue files are backed up? How can I prevent this from happening for any future release upgrade? All this is counter productive. Appreciate any suggestions.Thank you.

You are spot on, no wonder you are the Community Professional and a member for over four years. Some of my presets are in the Lightroom Preset folder and unchecking the Store Presets with Catalog checkbox revealed the presets and by copying the rest of the presets into the same folder all my presets are now visible and better than before. Gotta go now as it is back to business as usual with nothing missing. I simply love this program!

Removing border from JButton

I'm trying to remove the border from a bunch of JButtons.
My code adds custom actions to a custom JToolbar. The code responsible for this looks like this:    JButton button = this.add(action);

    button.setBorder(null);I've tried both lines, and both work and don't work at the same time. In one panel it works but in five others it doesn't. The only difference I see between these two groups is that the panel that works uses a GroupLayout and the other panels use a BorderLayout.
Also, I'm trying to create an onMouseOver effect similar (well, exactely the same actually) as is used in Eclipse. When the users mouse hover over the button the button should be given a border, when it is not the border should be gone.
Any help on these issues would be appreciated,
