Border shadow on page

I'm not a graphic designer so please bear with me and have
patience.
If you check out the site linked to above you will find a
page with shadows on the right and bottom content container. On my
1600x1200 CRT screen it looks alright, but on the laptop screen it
looks pretty bad.
What I did was I drew a white container on a blue background
page on FW and then I cut the right and bottom shadows and placed
them as repeating x and y coordinates. The thing is that they don't
look right to me, is there anybody that con point me in the
direction of making it look right, or, maybe point out what I did
wrong?

Image Border/Shadow in Wiki

Does anybody know if it's possible to remove the border/shadow from the images updoladed to the Wiki pages?

With my images in the wiki there isn't a shadow. There is a border, but you could just drag the picture out of the box when editing a page, although in my experience those pictures were gone the next day...

Insert a rectangular Shape
Set the Fill to None
Adjust the border of the shape to your preferred weight and color.
Resize and Position the Shape
Arrange > Lock the shape.
If you need this on more than one page, Select and Copy the Shape before locking it, then Paste it to each page where you want it to appear
Save the template..

It seems you are using Word 2013, if not, feel free to correct me.
I actually tested on my Word 2013 but couldn't reproduce this issue. If I added the border to a page, the print preview displayed the border as expected.
Is this issue reproduceable with another document? If so, please exit Word and try to find the Normal.dotm template, rename it to .old, thus Word shall generate a new one the next time it starts.
Normal.dotm is the template upon which all new blank documents are based. It opens whenever you start Microsoft Office Word 2013 and it includes default styles and customizations that control the basic look of your document. Changes you make to Normal.dotm
will be applied to documents that you create in the future.
To find the Normal.dotm file, navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates.

Show bottom border in First page and top border in next page for rectangle in SSRS

Hi,
I have rectangle inside that Text box and tablix are there, where the text data spans to multi pages (2 or 3 Pages) , so the Bottom border in first Page will go off and in other pages both bottom and top border will be not visible, and where the text
data ends in that page we can able to see the closed rectangle bottom border. .“OmitBorderOnPageBreak”
property is set to false only.
Kindly send me if any expressions is there and how to set it, Kindly do the need.

According to your description, you have a rectangle in your report, and there are tablix inside this rectangle. Now the issue is that there is no border on the bottom of first page and there is no border on the top of new pages when the tablix break to multiple
pages, right? If I have anything misunderstand, please point it out.
I have tested it on my local environment, and got the same results as yours. It seems this is default setting of Reporting Services. If there is border on the bottom of first page and there is border on the top of new pages, then this rectangle became
multiple rectangles.
The workaround for this issue is that add page header and page footer for your report, and add a line to them respectively. Then run this report, it looks like there is border on the bottom of first page and there is border on the top of new pages.

Is there a pref to turn off border/shadow in window screen capture?

Somewhere along the line, Apple changed screen capture of a window (cmd-shift-4 and then spacebar) so that now you get a white border and drop shadow around the window in the screen capture file. This is very pretty, but for the purposes of posting captures on websites, for example, the original 'just the window' capture is really much more useful. Is there a *defaults write com.apple.screencapture* (or something) preference that can be changed to set the border/shadow to off?

Yes, annoying isn't it? I got mine changed using this command in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture disable-shadow -bool true
You then need to log out and back in. This fix is courtesy of "atverd" at MacOSXHints. Bless him, and Rob Griffiths.

Shadows in Pages

Since installing Mountain Lion and applying the iWork 9.2 update I've been having some problems with Shadows in Pages 09 documents.
Specifically when I apply shadows to Tables, they don't apply to the entire table, in the example below Pages has applied the shadow to the top row only, whereas I want the shadow to lift the whole table from the page (the whole table was selected before applying the shadow effect):
Has anyone else experienced this problem? And how did you resolve it?
I'm worried its a bug caused either by Mountain Lion or the 9.2 update, which would presumably meanrestoring my computer to Lion: A somewhat drastic measure for such an inconsequential (but highly desired) feature :-(

I agree thats how it should work but that was not the case, hence the need for help. In the screenshot the entire table is selected, yet the shadow only applied to the header row.
It is of no consequence now, background fill as suggested by Jerrold Green1 fixed the problem.

Template problem, outside border appearing around page, but?

I am creating a new site, and I have a border around my page on the template, but when I create a new page based on the template it doesn't include the footer?

Thanks for the feedback.
The code that you refer to is a comment, I have moved my footer code to before my closing <div> tag for the page, all is OK now and validates.

this has some javascript on the page, is this the reason why it doesn't validate? Is there any way around this issue?

Photo border / shadow problem

On iweb (and until recently on my website - www.megevechalet.co.uk) the pictures had a nice light shadow. iweb still shows the light shadow, but on the website all the photos now have a thick black border. Does anyone know why this might have changed and what i can do to resolve it? I'm absolutely certain I've done nothing on iweb to change it and haven't actually been on iweb for about a month (until today when i checked to see that on iweb the shadow is still showing).

Are you using Firefox to view the site and see the black boxes? That's a problem with FF and some other browsers on photos that have had frames, drop shadows, borders or reflections added to it.
There's an easy workaround that removes those black boxes, reduces the number of files needed to render the page and speeds up the loading of the page. Follow the workaround described in this tutorial: #7 - Converting Photos w/Frames, Drop Shadows and/or Reflections into a Single Image File.
It works very well.

How do I change the spacing of the border on a page

I started creating a flyer today while at the Apple store. The Apple person had to "lock" the border in place at one point as I had images which were too close and we needed to move them further up the page. In order to JUST move the images and not the border as well, she did something to basically, "lock the border" so it wouldn't be affected. But she didn't unlock it when we were done.
I'm now home and I've printed out a sample. The bottom border is too far on the page and it's not showing up fully in comparison to the right, left and top borders. I can't figure out how to "unlock" what was done at the Apple store so I can readjust the settings.

Unlock is in the Arrange menu. If the border is on a Section Master, you will have to visit Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects Selectable, and if it's in the Background, you'll have to visit Arrange > Make Background Objects Selectable, before selecting and unlocking.

Thin White Line Or Border Around Web Page

I do not know if this is my table because I have added the following code to the table in the page to stop this from happening...

Yet there is still still a white border going around my web page?
I also have added this to the body code in CSS:

margin-bottom:0px;
margin-left:0px;
Any advice?

I am creating a Photo Book on iPhoto, when I previewed it, it appears a black strip on the border of each page, how can I solve this?

'm doing a photo book in iPhoto, when I do a preview I get an edge on the outside border of each sheet. The edge is small, and seems to be a repeatition of the cover page. I did a preview in PDF and then appears as a black or white line. Can anyone help?

The photos is the book tray are sorted by date. So to get them in the order you want you need to do this;
1 - group them in an album and manually sort in the order you want.
2 - select all and go to the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option.
3 - select a 1 minute time differential between photos and click OK.
4- add the photos to a book and they will be in the order you need.

Print with a black border to show page "edge"?

I'm printing a letter size document from illustrator at 50% size. All pages have a white background so I would like to have the document print with a black rule/ border around it so I can tell what it will look like. Is there a way to do this without manually putting a rule around all 25 existing artboards? Or is there a way to do this in the Acrobat pdf I'm outputting from this doc?(CS5) - many thanks!

Shadow down page

hi there
can anyone help me with a problem on creating a banner and
shadow down the page? I've got so far, more or less finished it but
I can't seem to get the shadow gif to go to the bottom of the page
automatically depending on the browser! I've created it using two
div images. Image 1(top banner) is wrapper_01.gf and the shadow
that I'm trying to get down to the bottom of the page is
wrapper_bg.gif.
I've tried changing the values to auto etc but the shadow
gif(wrapper_bg.gif) doesn't change? heres what I've got so far!

How do I keep border on Master Page on top?

I have a page border and page numbers on my master page that I need to stay on top of all overlapping items. However, I have several rotated images where the corner overlaps the border. I've tried to send them to the back and bringing the border to front but nothing is working. Any advice?

In InDesign master objects are always behind live page objects on the same layer, so you essentially have two stacking hierarchies to deal with -- multiple layers and the order on the individual layers.
