Borderless Printing Problems - C309g-m

I have developed a problem when trying to create borderless prints with my C309g-m All-In-One.  Recently I have begun to see a margin on the right side and bottom of prints that are supposed to be borderless.  When I first set up the printer, borderless printing was as expected.  It seems that after an update (as best I recall) the borderless prints began to appear with the white stripes (between 0.1 and 0.2 inches) as noted above.  The white stripes occur whether printing 4x6 (my normal print size) or 8.5x11. (the border stripes appear slightly bigger on this size).
The stripes appear whether i print from Qimage or Photoshop so they do not appear to be specific to the software used.  Qimage shows a fixed border of 0.0017" on the right and bottom with 0's for the left and top.  Any clues as to what might have happened and how I can "fix" it to once again print borderless.

Hi folks,
I understand you are all experiencing a white border on the right and bottom of your prints when printing borderless.
The first thing I would suggest is for you to do a copy of a borderless photo to test the hardware. If the hardware prints with no issue then the issue is related to the computer, possibly the settings or the driver.
If the issue persists please post back with the following information.
Operating system and version. Mac or Windows.
Program you are printing from.
Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Borderless printing problems - Aperture 2.1/Canon Pro9000 II

Problem: photos don't print borderless. I have selected the appropriate paper from the "paper size" dialog (in my case, "4x6 borderless"). Things used to behave nicely but something has changed after Snow Leopard. The "calibrate" settings do not solve the problem. The border appears only on two edges of the print and the calibrate settings can't move it back. Other software (Preview, Photoshop, etc.) print borderless without issue. Anyone else out there having a similar issue?
    Aperture 2.1.4
    OS 10.6.1
Canon Pro9000 II, CUPS driver 10.26.0.0
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I also have struggled with the borderless printing problem. Tried calibration has some unpredictable results. Tried preview, pretty much the same problem. Spent much time, ink and paper to come up with a solution I can live with. I accidentally printed a borderless 4x6 that actually had a 1/8 inch white border all the way around, not the borderless print i had intended but one that i can live with until there is a SL fix or a Aperture fix... I am just waiting. This is just one of many print problems since installing SL.

  • Borderless Printing Problem

Windows XP Pro, Indesign CS3, HP K8600 Deskjet Pro Printer. I am trying to print a borderless document. Printer does have borderless feature. I cannot get the document centered. A quarter inch white border appears on the right side of the document and a half inch border appears on the bottom. . Settings I am using in the print setup are as follows: Paper size "Borderless 8.5X11"; Page position "Centered"; also tried Page position "Upper Left"; Printing Shortcuts "Borderless Printing"; Under Features tab "Borderless 8.5X1", "Print Actual Size" and check "Bordrless". Document will print borderless and centered in HP Photosmart application but not in Indesign so I don't think it's a printer problem.

It's the top item on the Paper Size menu-drop...
I think that's your only way out because "borderless" printing is essentially unsupported by InDesign and sort of defies its logic.

  • Borderless printing problems

I never did a lot of printing with previous versions of iPhoto but I'm now experimenting with the latest iPhoto. Borderless printing is giving me a headache because it crops the edges my photos. I recently restored an old photo from WWI and wanted a nice 6x4 print but there is important content at the edged of the photo and it's being cropped off by iPhoto.
Going via the Advanced printing menu I can get a decent non-cropped print by adjusting the Amount of Extension slider for Borderless Printing but I had issues with the colour reproduction not being quite what I wanted. I faffed about with colour profiles and various settings until I decided to try the iPhoto print Presets which surprisingly produced the best results but at the expense of a badly cropped image. It seems that the image is always cropped even if I choose a border option instead of going for Borderless.
    Am I missing something?
The image is 6x4 which is the size I'm trying to print and if you look at the image here: http://flickr.com/photos/ajk/1108202517/ you can see why I don't want it cropped. For photos I take myself there will be more margin for error/cropping but I'd like to get this right if possible. Maybe I'll just have to keep playing with advanced settings but it would simplify things a lot if I could just use iPhotos own settings.
Thanks in advance for any tips/help.

    Flynn:
I copied the photo from your site and brought it into iPhoto. I see what you mean about losing some of the arm of the person on the left. Even if you select non borderless some of the photo gets cropped. That's worth reporting via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html
What you will need do to get exactly what you want is to print from PE4. You can control the process much better. No cutting of the edges.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • D7160 Borderless Printing Problem

Suddenly my D7160 Photosmart printer is enlarging the printout, so that the sides on a borderless print are being trimmed.
The preview is perfect but not the printout!
This is happening in all applications.
I have downloaded the latest drivers for WinXP.
It is as if a setting is magnifying the printout to 105%

  • Borderless print problems from photoshop

I have recently bought an Epson L800 printer.  When I print 'borderless' 4x6 prints using photoshop, I always get a border down the right hand side and bottom of the print.  Also the picture is not 100% perfectly straight on the page.  The pictures are already sized to 6x45 in photoshop so no scaling should be required.
I took the printer back to Epson, but they printed the same picture by going into Windows explorer and right clicking, and selecting 'preview'.  They printed from there, setting the printer options to borderless (as I had for photoshop) and the picture printed perfectly with no borders.  we tried again with photoshop and the border returned.
    Can anyone help me please?

  • Borderless printing problem via LR4

When trying for borderless A4 prints there is always a small border on the top and right hand edge of the resulting print.
This only happens when using LR.
I am printing to a Kodak c310 printer.
    Can anyone help?

When you want to print borderless you have to select a paper in your printer's dialog that is explicetely named "Boderless".
This paper selection tells your printer to print borderless. When you select a paper that is not named "borderless" your printer will always do a margin no matter what you specify in Lr.

  • Lightroom 2.6 Problem Printing Borderless Prints on Epson R800

I have used Lightroom to print borderless prints (using the paper setting - borderless -sheet feeder) and all has worked fine until I downloaded the new Apple Epson driver.  I found this new Apple driver did not work well as the colours were washed out.  So, I went back to the current Epson driver for Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6.2) and I can print again.  (The prints are now a bit dark but that can be addressed).
However, I now find I cannot print borderless prints (i.e. with no white edge) via Lightroom 2.6 using the current Epson driver and paper setting of borderless sheet feeder.  The printer responds with "media not loaded correctly".  When I go to Photoshop CS4 or iPhoto, I can print borderless prints. So, something is going on in Lightroom.
Any suggestions?  Except of course to print borderless prints from Photoshop.

    Sam,
I am still working on a similar problem with one of my Epson printers. The newer Epson R280 (may be R290 outside the US) works just fine with borderless. The older SP 2200 does not. I have been in communication with Epson, but not yet resolved. For most printers the newest software referenced for Leopard is with EasyPrint, but with this old 2200 the driver referenced is still not nearly as recently released as the EasyPrint frame work. The reply I got back from Epson was not satisfactory because it ignored the fact I am connected to my 2200 via Firewire and not USB, and all reference in the reply was to USB connection. Despite doubting the usefulness of the reply, I will have to move my 2200 much closer to the computer to try connecting with USB, and I simply have not tried it, since I doubt it will help.
My issues with borderless on the SP 2200 are also present when printing borderless from Photoshop CS3 and from Pages. Thus it seems more a problem with Leopard than with Aperture.
Sorry to not be more helpful or hopeful, but I think drivers for some printers are not fully tuned to printing in Leopard.

  • Borderless printing with Adobe reader or acrobat and HP Officejet Pro 8100

    Hello,
When printing borderless with my Pro 8100 the printed pdf moves about 2mm to te left on the paper. (White vertical strip on the right side is the result and on the left side something is missing!).
What causes the problem seems to be that the HP Pro 8100 printsoftware makes the A4-format a littlebit larger (214,55 x 300,91) than an actual A4-format (210,00 x 297,00) when you choose borderless printing.
Therefore, I suppose that the pdf shoud be centered before printing. Adobe reader doesn't seem to have the possiblity to center the page however.
    Any tips?

The borderless printing option is intended to print photo's on photo paper.  When printing borderless the print is slightly oversized to eliminate (or reduce) to chance for white edges due to media skey.  Depending on your operating system you may have a setting in the Advanced tab of the driver for Overspray, set this to minimum and see if it helps.

  • How Do I BORDERLESS PRINT on Epson RX500 in 10.4.7?

    Hello,
    When I set up my Epson RX500 All-In-One printer/scanner I was using 10.3 Panther.
The Print Setup Utility looked just like it does in the setup guide that comes with the unit.
I never used Borderless Printing but in the "Printer List" it showed Stylus Photo RX500 and Stylus Photo RX500(Sheet Feeder - Borderless).
Now a year later (after upgrading to 10.4.7) I want to do some borderless printing with 4x6 and 5x7 photo paper but the "Stylus Photo RX500(Sheet Feeder - Borderless)" listing is not there anymore.
Also the Printer Setup Utility has changed. The screens aren't like they were in 10.3 (where I select EPSON USB from a pull-down menu, etc).
I went to the Epson Website to download new drivers but they only have
TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v2.65A for Macintosh OS X (v10.2.x - 10.3.x)
    OR
Printer Driver v3.0aAs for Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.4 or later). There isn't one for PowerPC 10.4.
I CAN print a supposed 4x6 borderless print using Page Setup and "4x6 Borderless" setting for Paper Size but it doesn't come out borderless -- it has borders. There is a 5x7 setting but it doesn't say borderless.
Any help with this problem? I really would like to see the "Sheet Feeder - Borderless" in my Printer List again and do some true bordeless printing!
    Thanks!!
    PowerMac FW800 (G4), iMac G4 800 SuperDrive   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Thank you so much that was a big help.
After you do that, though, you have to click on the Page Setup drop down menu and select Borderless Sheet Feeder instead of Standard from the list -- that's the part I wasn't doing. It defaults to "Standard", whatever that is, and doesn't make the Borderless Printing available if you don't change it.
After that, though, I couldn't get the border even when I wanted one (which I do sometimes) using the RX500 regular setting (NOT borderless) -- it's makes about a 1/10" border instead of a 1/2" one.
FWIW I found that if you then delete Borderless Sheet Feeder (that I tried so hard to get!) from the Printer List and re-start the computer you will then have true border printing again! Re-install Borderless driver to get true borderless again (ugh). I guess I'll have to do that because sometimes I want borderless and other times I don't.
    Thanks!!

  • My "fix" to print problems in LR (using MS XP)

Having had the same problems printing from LR as many others are complaining about, I thought that I might give my 2 cents to what I did to solve (?) the problem. I have to run with current setting in a while to be convinced that it is not just an intermittent fix though ;-)
My problem when printing from LR was that the print came out much too Cyan-Green and somewhat dark when color management where handled by LR. When the same photo was exported to PS Elements (PSE) in Tiff with the Pro-photo color profile embedded, adjustments from LR, and printed using the same driver setting and color management, the print came out fine.
I must mention that I have had fine printout in previous LR versions but I'm not sure when the problem started. But at least from LR version 1.3, 1.3.1 I have had problems printing a proper print.
As I'm not 100% sure what caused the fix, I don't want to leave much info un-documented, so I start by describing my system etc.:
    - Athlon 64 3500+ with 2 GB RAM
    - Lacie 119 LCD monitor (calibrated with a ColorVision Spyder 2)
    - Epson Stylus Photo 890 printer; an old (6-7 years) 6 color dye-sub printer, but it can still produce very good prints. (It is BTW, the A4 printer version of Epson 1290).
    - Microsoft XP service pack 2
    - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3.1.
    - Adobe Photoshop Elements 5
    - Latest Epson 890 printer drivers ver. 5.21/P (from 2004)
    - ICC profiles for various Epson printer paper
    - Paper used: Ilford Printasia Photo Glossy Paper (but I have tried Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper as well with same results)
    I used following setting:
    - In printer driver: "No color management" was selected
    - LR and PSE color management; printer profile: Epson Stylus Photo 890 Premium Glossy Photo Paper, Rendering Intent: Perceptual
    . LR Print sharpening: High
    - LR Print resolution: 360ppi
When the photo was opened in PSE and I had printed a small print with above mentioned printer driver/color management settings. The print looked good, but with a little magenta color cast, so I thought that if I used a different printer profile this might help (I have no ICC profile for the Ilford paper). So I chose the "Epson Stylus Photo 890 Photo Paper" instead and printed again, and this time the photo looked as it did on my calibrated monitor. I have to admit I was a bit delighted even though it was from printed from PSE and not from LR, but seeing that color management worked in other applications was a relief.
In PSE, I also I tried changing to a different Rendering Intent before changing printer profile, but with no success.
Another thing that helped further was to change Media Type in printer driver from "Premium Glossy Photo Paper" to "Photo Paper".
After the print success in PSE I went back to LR and changed the Printer Profile to "Epson Stylus Photo 890 Photo Paper" (still with "No color management" and "Photo Paper" selected in printer driver) and printed the photo again. Now the photo looked as good as it did in PSE (!!!???).
Now I have made a few printer preset in LR for various print sizes, and the prints look fantastic. Every time! Do I have to mention that I am a happy guy ? :-)
BTW, remember that a printer preset also saves the printer driver settings. Forgetting this can easily cause some unexpected results.
The only thing is that, I still do not know what fixed the problem, and I am a bit worried that the problem might come back again. Maybe the print related changes made in PSE and the following selection of the same settings in LR did - somehow - "synchronize" LR to a proper color management. Sounds weird, but if it works...
I hope this long explanation was useful to - at least - some of you, who experience printer problems in LR. LR is a fantastic application, and I enjoy using it, but the printer problems has really been frustrating.
    Good luck!
    /Per

Little unclear about the border thing- you say it prints with a too wide border, but also say:
When I print the image with this set up, it still is printed without a border.
It's a factor of your printer, though; some can never print without a margin around all sides; this can be a border, or cut off. Good news, though; you can have a 5 x 7 borderless, or with any size border you wish if you print on larger paper, and trim to taste.

  • Printing problems in CS5

    Hi.
Small problem since starting to use CS5.
When trying to print from Photoshop a whole load of my printer settings have been disabled.
The options have a straight line across them in the set up menu with the number 483 after them.
The functions I can't use are:
    Quality Media
    Color Options
    Special Effects
    Borderless Printing
    Duplex Print
It is mostly the Quality and Media bit that I am in desperate need of, as that's where I chose my paper type
and the quality of the final print.
I did see another forum post with similar issue with an Epson printer and it was suggested to update printer drivers.
But I am unable to find newer drivers for the printer.
I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and maybe found a solution.
I might add that I have tested that when printing for example from Word all the options becomes available.
This seems to suggest that it is Photoshop CS5 problem.
    I am using:
    Photoshop CS5
    Mac OS X 10.5.8
    2.8 Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 2GB
    Canon IP 4000 printer
    4.8.3 driver version
Thanks for any help, much appreciated
    Anna

Try launching Photoshop in 32-bit mode:
Select the Adobe Photoshop CS5 application file, installed by default in the Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder.
Choose File > Get Info, and select Open in 32 Bit Mode.

  • D7263. Wrong printout colors under Vista/Wrong borderless printing.

Getting dull colors while printing under Windows Vista from Print Manager or any application (Photoshop CS3). Colors are as expected (ok) while I print those photos under XP virtual machine (from under Vista Ultimate).
Another problem is stupid results with borderless printing.Though I prepare dimension of the photo to match paper size (lets say 4x6inch x 600dpi), using borderless printing option, I always get printouts cutted  about 0,2 inch on EVERY side.

  • Illustrator cs4 and Epson Stylus R2880 printing problems

I am having printing problems.  I am trying to print from my cs4 to my epson stylus photo printer r2880 and am having problem with my picture getting cut off on the left side when I print.  The print screen looks perfect but when I go to print, it always cuts off the left edge and the bottom.  I tried playing with the x and y's but have no idea what I am doing.  Does anyone have this combination of cs4 with the R2880 printer and can help me solve my problem?

    Hi Wade,
I have tried playing around with that but I am not sure what I am doing.  Here's what it is set at.
On my drop down print screen, i have the size set as US Letter (Sheet Feeder Borderless (retain size).
When I check the 'fit to page' button it actually puts a bigger white boarder around it.  The fit to page number says (96.4706%).  Shouldn't it say 100%?  If I leave it as do not scale I still have a small border around it.
I am not sure about the xy settings.  When I have it to 'fit to page' it is:
Top left corner (0,0)  Top right corner (0,0)
Bottom left corner (0, .1632)  Bottom right corner (0, .1632)
If I have do not scale button clicked:
Top left corner (0,0)  Top right corner (0,0)
Bottom left corner (0, -.225)  Bottom right corner is (-.3, -.225)
Do these settings look correct?  If not, what should my setting say and how can I set it without the setting changing back everytime I open this window.
    Thanks for responding,
    Celeste

  • HP messed up my borderless printing

I have always been able to do borderless printing to my Lexmark 705 printer by setting print margins to zero in the Print Set-up dialog. Unforunately, I recently installed an HP printer. Now, all my printers ignore the page margin settings, always printing in the middle of a 11x8.5 when doing borderless printing. HP even had a statement in the documentation stating, "If you have problem printing from an application with borderless printing, print from one of the HP supplied applictions".
After uninstalling the HP driver, and installing a printer driver for a Brother 440 CN, I am still unable to print a borderless page using a page margin of 0, to either printer; the image still prints centered on a 8.5x11.
I believe that HP mucked with some settings in CUPS that their uninstaller didn't fix. Someone have an idea of a setting somewhere in CUPS printing system that might return my borderless printing back to the origin behavior?
