Borderless printing without cutting image off

I've been trying to print some borderless 4by6 pictures, on my brand spankin new Photosmart C4480. The problem i'm having is that some of the image always get's cut off. I edit the pictures before i print them so that the aspect ratio matches 4by6 (1.5 or .666, whichever) but alas, it always seems to print the image so that some pixels are missed. Sometimes this can mean a forehead being cut off even.
As far as i can tell i've got all the image printing options set, i've got the right aspect ratio in the image, I dont know what i'm doing wrong.
given that it's cutting off all 4 edges, i looked inside thinking maybe it was spraying ink inside (missing the edges) but this does not seem to be the case.
Advice?

Hi,
I have used HP printers before, but I am not familiar with your model.  However, you might look in your print options.  On my printer of another brand, I have the option of printing borderless or not.  If I do not choose this option, it will "crop" my picture all the way around.  Hope this helps!

  • Borderless printing washes out image

    Hi,
I have a MP160 (Pixma Series) that works very well.
Today I've tried to make some bordeless printing and when I use this option — changing Paper Size from A4 to A4 (borderless), the colors of the images fades a lot, resulting on a very light printed image.
If I choose back the simple A4 (with borders), the images prints well again.
I found a way to resolve this, by changing Media Type from Plain Paper to Photo Paper Pro (Media Type under Quality & Media options) and changing Print Quality to High instead of Standard (this option is grayed out for Plain Paper when I set A4 bordeless). But this workaround makes the printer velocity goes down a lot, using more ink (I'm assuming that), even this printing a very little lighter imagem than the A4 Standard print quality.
Is there a way to solve that, printing borderless on standard quality?
I'm on Mac osX 10.8.5, printing from Preview app.
    Thanks,
    baga

baga is right. I've had a couple of different Canon printers, including the one mentioned, and have always had an issue with borderless printing. You may believe, as anyone who is using your product would, that with all settings the same there should be no difference in print quality between bordered and borderless but I can assure you there is. I'm sure baga gave up quickly on this thread since you wouldn't acknowledge the issue. This is apparently the best Canon can offer and is as good a reason as any to avaoid the product if borderless printing is a priority.

  • Borderless printing without cropping on a Mac

    Printer: OfficeJet 7500A
    Computer: Mac OSX
Trying to print on 8.5" x 11" paper, with no borders.  After 9 failed attempts, I have gotten my image to print fully without borders all the way to the edges of the page but it now crops the bottom and right side of the image that it's printing. The preview on the print screen is not cropped but the printer spits out a cropped image.
How can I get it to stop cropping? I'm very frustrated with this.

  • Printing iPhoto cuts off right side of photo without editing?

When I try to print a iPhoto that is on screen full size it will chop off the photo on the right side without any editing when i do preveiw before printing. i have tried a few different things to try to correct but still same outcome.

I can confirm your issue with both iPhoto 9.4.3 and 9.5.1.  Croppijg a photo to 3.5 and trying to print to 3 x 5 borderless will crop a bit off oif the right side of the image.  I've confirmed that the pixel dimensions are for a 3 x 5, 1:1.666 but it won't fit into the 3x5 layout.
I checked it out with a 4 x 6 in iPhoto 9.5.1 and got the same results.  When the print process begins it's the original image that is brought into the print window instead of the cropped verson.
Cropping with an external editor does let you print to the exact print size selected.

  • When I try and print an "Approach Plate, or Departure" from ForeFlight to my Epson Stylus NX430 using AirPrint the image is resized. How can I print without it resizing. I want to have the plate print in the original size so I can use it.

When I try and print an "Approach Plate, or Departure" from ForeFlight to my Epson Stylus NX430 using AirPrint the image is resized. How can I print without it resizing. I want to have the plate print in the original size so I can use it. Is this an Apple, Epson, or Foreflight Issue? I just purchased the printer so I can return it and get a different model or brand. I spoke to Epson and the suggestions given did not resolve the issue. I have cut the paper down to the size of the plate roughly 5.5x8 and it still try's to print at 8.5x11. I have also requested help through ForeFlights Tech help but have yet to receive an answer.

  • Having 2 Problems Help (How to print without tiles, how to print borderless)

    Windows XP Home Premium
HP Officejet J4500 All In One Series
I have a Jpeg image with text that I would like to print but the borders HP adds are killing me. Why is it not possible to center the **bleep** image perfectly ona  standard letter size baffles my frakin mind. I just want a simple stupid print of the **bleep** image why you got to make it so **bleep** difficult. Should I resize the stupid picture from its current state of 850x1050?? Will that even fkin help?
Than I try to print a stupid Windows Office 2007 File witch has a background picture on it and some text and the fkin thing comes out tiles, except for the text, what kind of crackhead printer setup do I have wrong here?
How do I make it print untiled and what the hell do all these borderless meanings mean?
If anyone can help I would great appreciate it, sorry for the frustration.
Borderless printing lets you print to the edges of certain media types and a range of standard media sizes.
    Note 1
Open the file in a software application and assign the image size. Make sure the size corresponds to the media size on which you are printing the image.
You can also gain access to this feature from the Printing Shortcuts tab. Open the printer driver, select the Printing Shortcuts tab, and select the printing shortcut for this print job drop-down list.
    Note 2
Borderless printing is not supported on plain media.
To print a borderless document (Windows)
    1
Load the appropriate media. For more information, see Load media.
    2
Open the file that you want to print.
    3
From the application, open the print driver:
    a
Click File, and then click Print.
    b
    Click Properties or Setup.
    4
    Click the Paper/Quality tab.
    5
Select the media size from the Size is drop-down list.
    6
Select the Borderless Printing check box.
    7
Select the media source from the Source is drop-down list.
    8
Select the media type from the Type is drop-down list.
    Note
Borderless printing is not supported on plain media.
    9
If you are printing photos, select Best from the Print Quality drop-down list. Alternatively, select Maximum dpi, which provides up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi* for optimum print quality.
*Up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi for color printing and 1200 input dpi. This setting might temporarily use a large amount of hard disk space (400 MB or more) and will print more slowly.
    10
Change any other print settings, and then click OK.
    11
    Print the document.
    12
If you printed on photo media with a tear-off tab, remove the tab to make the document completely borderless.

    Hi,
With the jpeg, can you do a Print Preview first to make sure it looks centred? Or do you have an option to print a full page photo?
For the second issue, try checking that the print option doesn't have tiles selected. You could also try the 'Set Print area' option if you have it.
The text you've copied about the borderless printing is just about ensuring that you have the right properties selected (for paper type, paper size, print quality)
Hope this is of some help to you....

It depends upon the capabilities of your printer. If you have an HP printer with a photo tray then the Photo app will print to whatever size you load in to that tray.
    There's some more information here:
Using AirPrint to Print Various Photo Sizes
With other printers the user is given a choice from the printer's loaded paper sizes. You can see an example of that here:

  • Pdf image good in preview but distorted when printing without preview

Hi all, I have added a graphic to my adobe form and it looks good when I view the pdf. It also prints fine when I open the pdf and then print it. The problem is when the pdf is sent directly to the printer without previewing it, the image will print but the colors will be distorted.
The image was saved as 256 colors bmp and uploaded using SE78.
    Any help is appreciated:). Thanks.

    HI friend,
I think it might be the problem with the printer settings just check that else what it must have happened is some code gets trigerred during the print preview which makes the color to print correctly.
But while sending directly that part of code might not have been executed. Try to debug if possible and see whether its because of this else see the printer settings.
I think this might be the issue there might not be any error from smartform.
Just check the driver program print settings also.
If you still face issues please revert back to me i will help you.
    Thanks,
    Sri Hari.

  • Every other line of print is cut off on my Photosmart C4750

I have recently replaced and aligned new cartridges on my Photosmart C4750. I am printing directly from computer to printer via USB. The last two items I have printed are being cutt off every other line of print, on either the top or bottom of the printed pages. Any ideas?

Hello there, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about the printing problems you are having and would like to offer you my suggestion. First of all, print using a different program to see if the issue is only within one program. If you see the issue happening no matter where you print from, run the HP Print and Scan Doctor if you're running a Windows OS.
Also, try a copy to see if there are cut offs with them as well!
Please let me know what happened and include your OS and programs you have tried printing from.
Help to find which Operating System you are running:

  • HP Designjet T520 Printing A3 cuts off at bottom

HP Designjet T520 Printing A3 cuts off at bottom When we plot something with AutoCad, and then print Portrait, it all prints fine except the bottom edge is slightly cut off. The paper we are using is A3, and the printer and Autocad settings is A3. Any ideas? WINDOWS 7 - NO ERROR MESSAGES

This very same issue is affecting me with T520.This happens with vertical A4 and A3, and till now I've not yet found a solution. To be sure to be within printer margins I've set the drawing actual margins on all the four sides to be 1.8 cm from paper sheets borders. But as alway I get the bottom border cut, while the upper border seems shifted downward and it's placed at 3,0 cm from the upper border of the paper. BUTif I set the page to be ORIZONTAL in the application, choose the orizontal page format etc the printout is perfectly aligned.  To me this seems a weird issue.Experienced this issue using Archicad 16, Illustrator and Indisign. • PSC 2410 photosmart borderless printing off center

    Hello,
My 8.5 X 11 borderless printing has an 1/8" border on two sides of the page when printing from one computer while the same file printed from a different computer has a 1/4" border on the same two sides.
I have tried a mulitude of setting changes that have no affect on the problem. I have removed the printer from my list of printers then searched for it again in an attempt to reinstall the driver. I have replaced the the encoer strip. So far I have not been to print this file correctly without borders, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT IN THE PAST.
The printer is shared through a home network. The host computer is an HP Pavilion HPE. Both computers are 64bit & run Win 7.
    There are no error messages.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

Iphoto gives message "no images were selected" when hit print button.  Yet the the images are clearly selected in the print window.  I've printed hundreds of images without a problem before.  Iphoto 6.0.6, MAC 10.5.8, Suggestions?

I have recently started having this problem in PSE8. The Adobe workaround
did work, but I don't fancy having to re register each time I use it.
What I have discovered is that it's nothing to do with the image metadata as it occurs before any image is opened.
It SEEMS to only occur if you use file/open with to open an image in the editor - IE start PSE with that command.
If you close elements down, and start it using programs/PSE/Elements (or your desktop shortcut) - the panorama feature magically works.
Each time I've opened the editor 'automatically' using image/open with, it seems to create the problem.
    Hope this helps

  • Print or cut/paste adobe flash player 9 images?

Is it possible to print or cut/paste adobeflashplayer9
images? Is there an add on or download to do this? Thanks.

You can check that Flashplayer is correctly installed on your Mac by going to the About Flash Player page. The upper area of the page will tell you that Flash Player is installed correctly and what version is installed.
If Flash Player is not installed correctly I would search out the pieces and Trash them and flush. They are usually located in HD/Library/Internet Plugins and also Users/~user/Library/Internet Plugins.
Then download the version of Flash Player for your Mac here. After installation the installer will take your browser to the About Flash Player page to show you that the player was installed correctly and works.
If Flash Player is correctly installed on your Mac, it could be a matter of the NBC webpage cookies. I would go to the cookies for the browser and delete all the NBC cookies and start the process of using the NBC website fresh.
I can go as far as selecting the episode and chapter on the Heroes website. Then I get a message that the clips are not available to folks from my country, so I am sure the website is working properly.
