Borders on PDF's in Bridge

I don't have any of the other suite software, just Photoshop and Bridge.  I'm wanting to export a multi-page pdf to send to a printer, but i keep coming up with a background/border on all of my outputs.  I don't want that there...it actually shrinks my image...I want to export 32 pages into one pdf and i want it each page to look exactly like my flattened tiffs...Is that possible?  How do i remove the background?

That's weird.  When i input the pixel dimensions, it works just fine, but if i enter my height and width in inches, it gives me a background.  Strange, but I think I got it figured out.

How do you create a pdf catalog in bridge?

Bridge is not a robust DAM (Digital Asset Manager), just a file browser.  It started out as nothing more than Photoshop's File Browser.
Before anything else, would you please you are talking about a PDF Catalog of your images?

  • Image size difference making PDF's in Bridge

Making PDF's in Bridge on a Mac.  The image size I am using is 199 x 300 pixels (5.3 x 8 cm) and when I add a horizontal image to the output preview box, the images retain that size, however, when I add the vertical images to the preview box, although they still show as the same pixels, they display and print at 3.5 x 5.3 cm, much smaller.  Need help, please.

however, all the prints need to be the same orientation.  Both vertical and horizontal prints appear on the same page.
CS6 has also brought back the old Contact sheet script but I don't think this will do it either. Both PDF output and Contact sheet script are meant mainly for contact sheet use. And both have the boundary box rules as it seems, maybe you should play more with dimensions and rows/columns but I doubt this will give you the result. In older versions there was picture package which maybe was more what you needed?
Don't know why you need them to be the same size exactly? However as said, mainly for contact sheet use and not a sophisticated print module (a wish from many users)

  • How do I load an Adobe PDF preset into Bridge?

With InDesign I go to File>Adobe PDF Presets>Define>Load. I would like to do the same thing in Bridge so that I am using a PDF preset that I choose instead of the default PDF preset that is in Bridge. I need to know that the PDFs generated from Bridge and InDesign are being generated with the same PDF preset. I am using Bridge CS5.5 on a Mac. Thanks.

I don't think you can do this… Bridge generates it's *.pdf files using the cached *.jpeg previews… Try with some vector files and you will see the result is nothing like ID… If you want them to be the same standard then use ID to make the contact sheets…

  • Captions displayed in PDF created in Bridge?

    Hello,
I'm trying to create PDF of about 20 images with only one image per page, and I want the caption to display underneath the image on the page. I've played around a bit with the overlay options but only seem to get the filename to show up and can't get the meta-data entered caption to show.
Does anyone know how to do this?
    I'm using Bridge in CS6.
    Thanks!
    Glenna

Does anyone know how to do this?
Sadly enough you can't do so using Bridge Output Module. While it can create very nice contact sheets the options are indeed very limited.
Maybe a third party application or a custom made script can do so but I'm not sure about that.
Meanwhile if it is only one or a few times you need it you can create an action in Ps that creates a new document with enough space for the image and a text layer.
Once recorded you only need to run the action, place the image in the new document and copy paste the caption in the text layer.
From the saved documents you can create a PDF in Bridge that show the image and caption. Just a thought

  • How do I make a PDF Slideshow from Bridge CS4 with 500 images?

Every year I go for an extended photo shooting trip. I use about 400 to 600 of the images to make a PDF slide show. This worked fine in all previous versions of Bridge, but no longer works properly in Bridge CS4. I can create PDF files with up to 329 images, but when I try to make a PDF file with more than that, the PDF file is corrupted. Sometimes, the PDF file opens, but about 10% of the image at random location are corrupted, and their thumbnails show up as white or black patches. At other times, the file does not open in Adobe Reader. I get a variety of error messages. The most common is #109.
Just to be certain it is not caused by my images, I used 550 images I had used to make a PDF show last year with Bridge CS3. I get the same problem. The slide show created last year with 550 images in Bridge CS3 still works in Adobe Reader, ruling out the Reader a being the cause of the problem. It appears that some bug has crept into the CS4 Bridge code.
Unfortunately, a while ago a deleted CS3 from my hard drives without making a copy of the downloaded dmg of CS3, so I can no longer re-install CS3. BTW, other than this bug, I am very happy with CS4. As a photographer, I find the improvements made in CS4 ACR stunning.
Is there a known work-around for this bug?
Is it likely to be fixed in an upcoming update?
Is there a way I can download a copy of CS3 allowing me to install CS3 Bridge, or, if needed, the whole CS3 suite?
(I still have a record of my CS3 registration code.)

I found an answer to my own question. A work around of sorts.
Download Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh. With PSE6 I made a slide show with 550 images 1920x1200, without thumbs. I ran into one problem making the slide show. My images contained 4 images which had not ben created by Photoshop and could not be included in the slide show. Opening the images in Photoshop CS4 and re-saving them still did not make then acceptable. Not a big deal. I probably could have fixed the four images by stripping all EXIF data before opening them in Photoshop. BTW, PSE6 made the slide show in demo mode.
I hope the bug in Photoshop CS4 will be fixed in Photoshop CS5.

  • PDF options in Bridge CS4

    Hello,
I made a jsx script which generates several layered TIF files which get placed in a PDF.  The script in CS3 used the PDFPresentation function and all was well.  However now in CS4 since that functionality has been moved to Bridge, I don't know how to make a PDF directly from the script (which is currently running in Photoshop).  Also on a more important note, the text vector data is lost when the PDF is made in Bridge!  It's just one big raster image on each page - which means low print quality.  Why can't I select an option in Bridge to include fonts in the final PDF output?

You might try the Bridge Scripts Fourm for quicker answer.

  • Photoshop CS5 pdf size fine - Bridge Multi page pdf size not fine

I know it must be asked a thousand times but here goes:
PDFs saved by photoshop display the true document size (let's say 70cm width on 72ppi)
When I try to create multi page pdfs fro bridge (thanks Adobe!), no matter how many ways I try to set it up, the image always is small in the center of a white background. Always.
    What gives?

    Hi,
    1. Why dont u try it in pdf itself?
U can just crop the required area in pdf file using crop tool so it can be applied for all the pages at a time.
    2. If u trying to remove particular area on a pdf u can place a white box on that area using pitstop tool it can be saved as actionlist like batch processing and applied for any number of pages and files.
Making this in pdf itself won't get u more file size. Size will be as equal as ur source file.

  • Multiple page PDF source in Bridge CS5

    [X-posted from CS Windows]
    Hello,
I am using  Bridge CS5 on Windows to create multiple page PDFs from source PDF and  PSD files. I can create multipage PDFs from a number of single-page  source files, but when a source PDF has multiple pages, only the first  page of the source PDF appears in the final PDF. Bridge recognizes that  the source files are multipage in the preview window (the multipage PDF  appears as a single page in the preview window, which can be paged  through), but it silently omits the extra pages in the final product.  How do I get all the pages to show up in the final PDF?
    TIA,
    Michael

I have seen the answer for this in the past 8? months, but can't remember the exact details on how to get around it.  If my memory serves me correctly Bridge sees the mullti page PDF as one document which causes the problems you encountered.

  • How to place into indesign a specific page of a multipage pdf document through bridge

Can anyone let me know if this is possible and if so how?
    Many thanks

Can anyone let me know if this is possible and if so how?
You can't use Bridge for this directly, you either have to use Acrobat Pro, PS  or other PDF dedicated software to extract the wanted page first and after saving this file you can use Bridge to place it.
On a Mac you can even use the basic preview application, open the PDF in preview, choose showing thumbnails and just drag and drop the thumb of the wanted page to the folder you are working on in Bridge.

  • Layer Comps to PDF -- Gone? Bridge not working correctly.

I never needed this feature, but decided that it would be handy for a  project that I am doing. I have a set of powerpoint slides that are all  layer comps (6 slides). I went Export Comps to JPG to get the slides to  build my powerpoint, but I also wanted to do a PDF version of the  powerpoint. When I export from powerpoint to PDF, the resolutions gets  hammered and it looks bad.
I have CS5 and have never used the Layer Comps to PDF that was in  previous versions, but found tutorials and that is exactly what I need.  It is gone.
The Bridge output to PDF fails because no matter what I do, it adds a  margin. I don't want a margin at all. I set all the margins and spacings  to zero and no luck.
Here is a screen capture of bridge.
See that black margin? Where is it coming from? I don't want it! It  isn't for display purposes only, it outputs that black border.
I know the most sure way to do this is use Export Comps to JPG, then  place them in InDesign, then output to PDF from there. That is way too  many steps for something that used to be right there.

It's been a couple of years since I used Acrobat to make PDFs from Office products, but I'm sure there was a settings panel somewhere that had to be set up to get your desired resolutions and quality levels for the PDF file.  I don't think it has to "look bad" by definition.  I was using Word myself, not PowerPoint, though.  I did end up being able to create a full-bleed (image to the edges) PDF.
From within Photoshop CS5 you can do File - Save As, PDF.  Not sure what part(s) of "Layer Comps to PDF" you needed.

  • Poor Quality Table borders in PDF

    Hello.
I am having problems having the tables borders in Word 2007 look the same in the PDF (using Arobat 9 Pro). The quality is very poor which appears the lines are thicker than in the Word document. I am using 4000 DPI, High Quality print but still looks bad.   Images look good it is just the table borders that are the problem.  Do you have any suggestion in improving this? Or is this a problem I have to live with?
    Regards,

Trying to convert any word doc with tables (& shading) to PDF
    - basic table, black borders throughout
    - shaded headings, black outline border
    - shaded subheadings, black outline border
    However when convert to PDF:
    - 'displays' NO top cell border for some/all shaded rows
    - shows diff thickness lines
    - each conversion, diff lines missing/incorrectly sized
    - however converted pdf prints perfectly fine
Adobe know about the bug, per PRMW's (Paul's) post on 2009-07-15  15:44:34, however only offered a painful time consuming workaround using  non-freeware Adobe Pro:

    - "It is not feasable to edit 200+ tables in the PDF every time the PDF is generated, as we maintain the original in word.
    - "This complete issue seems to have been passed off by Adobe as no  problem and that there is a work around. I consider this an  unsatisfactory response from a major product supplier.
Microsoft TechNet & NitroPdf said it's an Adobe issue & to contact Adobe to fix the bug.
    Tried, but proble exists:

  • Preview pdf problem in Bridge CS4

    Hello,
When I want to make preview prints from PDF files sometimes I see double pages, and I think one is a low resolution file and the other is a high resolution file. So I have a problem to make previews of these double pages in Bridge CS4. Does anybody know this problem and how can I solve this, any help with this is very welcome. I can open the file in Acrobat Reader and I just see one page!

You must have done a screen shot of the thumbnail as the enlarged version is same size.  But can still see difference.
I would revisit your thumbnail setting and make sure it is HQ Iif you want to see edits in thumbs, and  check the default ACR setting.  Don't assume they are the same as computer can do unexpected things.
Read the link I gave in post #1 as see if you have all the correct options selected.
When you click on thumb does the preveiw panel show the same dull image or a correct one?
It is possible the update fouled everything up, but seems like there would be more complaints.  I am still on ACR 6.4 however.  Am a slow adopter.

  • PDF output in bridge CC

I used to be able to create a pdf contact sheet in bridge in the output view, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Can anyone help?

  • How do I view .PDF files in Bridge?

When I returned to Default Settings for Bridge CS3, it doesn't recognize or view all of my recently created .PDF files (some of which were created in Photoshop CS, not with Acrobat.)  Bridge is wonderful when it views and displays the .PDF files as graphics, because Windows Explorer won't display .PDF files as images.  Bridge helps keep everything organized.   Do you know how to restore settings so Bridge to consistently recognizes .PDF files?

Actually, the problems were only in the Web Browsers, not in the email, which for some reason was okay (not great, but okay).  I should have been able to Reply or Score or Like in the Web Browsers, too.  Oh, well.
    wordservant
Curt, I have spent (or wasted) ten minutes or so more than once looking for the active Reply button or link, as well as the active buttons or links to Score your Answer or register it as a Like.  I see what look like scoring buttons, but they don't activate.  I don't see Reply anywhere.  I simply don't see anything intuitive on the screen on my laptop, running Windows 7.  I wonder if using a particular Web Browser, such as Internet Explorer 9 or Opera 11, would be better for Replying in an Adobe Discussion?  Anyway, that's why I'm stuck using email, which isn't as effective or advantageous.  I wonder if anyone else has had this problem in Replying, and what solutions they may have found?
