Boris FX : differences in packages?

I intend to purchase one of the packages from Boris FX.
I found out there two packages which have similarities : RED en BLUE.
I, myself, am not really good in seeing the differences between the packages allthough I believe the BLUE version seems to support realtime-monitoring while the other does not. Not sure though.
Can someone help me out in clearing this?
grtz

So, in this case, the mess-up occurred when 3.0.6 was added to the AUR?  The proper procedure would have been to flag the package in extra?
If that's the case, what happens when a Developer leaves Arch?  Does somebody inherit their packages or do they get abandoned until another Developer picks them up?
Also, considering the nessus-client is a new feature as of version 3.0, does the Developer automatically assume the burden of maintaining that package when his original nessus packages are updated?  I realize the user assumes a certain degree of risk when installing things from the AUR but he/she wouldn't have to resort to that if the latest version of the package was in the official repos.

    because i didn't get any sim eject tool in IPAD AIR box.

    I believe it does vary depending on country.  A paper clip works equally well, so I wouldn't get too upset.

  • Differences between Package & procedure/function

    hi everybody,
    can anyone tell me why we need to go for functions eventhough we are having procedures and why we need to go for packages eventhough we are having procedures&functions
    Best Regards,
    bobby

    Hi,
    We have to go for functions though we have procedures, because in cases we have to return the values to a select statement.
    ex: select abc from dual;
    where abc is a function which will return a value to the select statement on computing the result.
    And also functions must and should return a value.
    We use packages though we have both procedures and functions
    1) Overloading : Use the same subprogram name for multiple times by changing the parameters
    2) Security : We can declare any of the subprograms as private with in package. so that the subprogram can't accessed outside of this package. And the functions and procedures with in packages are more secured than outside ones because they have to call by package name.
    ex: there a procedure abc with in xyz package
    you have call it by xyz.abc
    3) Reduce Network traffic : when you call procedure/function with in a package entire body will store in RAM. so further if u want use other subprograms with in the package it will take directly from RAM, no need to go to the database again.
    4) Ease of maintainable : We can easily maintain.

    This is fully covered in the documentation:
    About Database Applications
    About Websheet Applications
    About Packaged Applications
    There is little difference between packaged applications and database applications, other than that packaged applications are supplied by Oracle and database applications are created by you.

  • In ical, how can you tell the difference between a meeting invite and email?

    When you send a meeting invite in ical, does the recipient receive a different icon in their inbox to differentiate from an email?

    For service stock you can't tell the difference between a new iPad and a refurbished one. Both will come in a plain brown box with the same pattern in model numbers. If you mean between a refurbished one and one new at retail, then other than the obvious difference in packaging, I've read that the model number on refurbished units starts with the letter "F", though I've not confirmed that.

  • Deploying standard changes to SSIS packages

    A couple glitches were discovered in our SSIS template.  Approximately 100 packages were built from the template.  Is there a mechanism to update all packages with the changes?  Or do I have to open each one and manually change?

    I'm into the xml and notice a lot of difference between packages for DTS:DTSID   I searched the net trying to find what DTS:DTSID is and if I should be replacing this text.
    Hi Hawk73ku,
    Each package object has a GUID, and the GUID is marked as the DTSID element in the XML code of the .dtsx file. Generally, it doesn’t matter to change the GUID of a package object only if the GUID is unique. However, when we try to modify certain XML code
    snippet of a package, there is no need to modify the DTSID element actually.
    You can first make the changes to a package, and compare and find out the modified code snippet. Then, you can open the code of any one package, and then perform text replace in the project or entire solution scope.

  • Package and application

    What is difference between package and application.

    http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2013/03/01/sccm-2012-applications-vs-packages/
    Packages are all we had in ConfigMgr 2007, You can deploy things as a package or an application.
    Applications may take a little more work to add in, but you have many benefits like supersedence.
    If an application that is pushed out via the application model is uninstalled by someone then it will eventually be reinstalled automatically, where as a package wouldn't.

  • OSS and Support Packages

    Hi all,
    Is ther any difference between the OSS and support packages?
    Plz explain for this one.
    regatrds
    vijay

    Hi,
    IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE
    Support packages provide a bundle of fixes in electronic form that are imported into the SAP system. These Support packages must be imported in order (starting with the very first one) and they cannot be skipped.  All fixes within a Support package must be imported together, there is no ability to pick and choose the fixes.
    The second form of fixes that SAP provides is via OSS notes that pertain to specific problems. These notes must be manually applied to the system, as these fixes are generally not available in electronic form at the time the note is published. Care must be taken to ensure that the note is entered correctly otherwise new problems may occur, or the existing problem is not corrected.
    A Support package may contain fixes that also exist as individual notes, but many times they contain fixes that are only provided in Support packages. SAP’s strategy for providing intra-release fixes is through Support packages and the use of individual notes is decreasing.
    I hope this information could help you.
    Note: Points always encourage me to reply !!

  • Transports between systems after support package application

    Hi gurus, we need to apply a lot of support packages into the development system and I wanna know if in the meantime we need to "freeze" all transports between systems.
    This because the systems (DEV - QA - PRD) are in differente support package level. This until we apply the support packages into the others systems
    Thanks in advance.
    Ronald.

    Yes, any transport which is taking SAP standard code from DEV to QA to PRD should not move if the systems in landscape are on different support pack level. Because it can happen that SAP has done some modification to that standard code in new support pack.
    However, anything which is isolated Z-development (like some z-output report or smartforms) can proceed.
    But, I suggest , stop moving transports until all systems have same support pack level.

  • 3.1EA1: Database Diff Package Body

    I've had some problems when comparing package bodies.
    1. Sometimes two or more lines in package bodies are combined into one in the DDL and script tabs of the comparison pane in the difference report.
    2. Sometimes differences in package bodies are missed completely. When this happens, the package body text shown in both sides of the DDL tab of the comparison pane are from the same connection.
    Rodney

    Turns out the consequences of the first problem (merging lines) I mentioned can be severe. The problem occurs when a line ends with a single quotation mark as in the following contrived example.
    CREATE PACKAGE b AS END;
    CREATE PACKAGE BODY b AS
        v       --'
        INTEGER --'
        :=      --'
        1;      --'
    END;
    /The difference process produces the following:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY "B" AS
        v       --'    INTEGER --'    :=      --'    1;      --'END;/That ends up in the final script as well which means the script will fail upon execution.

  • [SOLVED] "eth1 timed out" but by iwconfig-command it works

    Hi,
    Strange, Im setting up my wireless with ipw2200-fw. I used the template-Network-Profile and changed the settings like this:
    # Network Profile
    DESCRIPTION="wifi profile"
    # Network Settings
    INTERFACE=eth1
    HOSTNAME=myhostname
    # Interface Settings (use IFOPTS="dhcp" for DHCP)
    IFOPTS="dhcp"
    #GATEWAY=192.168.0.1
    # DNS Settings (optional)
    # Wireless Settings (optional)
    ESSID="essid"
    KEY=1234567890
    IWOPTS="mode managed essid $ESSID channel 11 key restricted $KEY"
    #WIFI_INTERFACE=wlan0 # use this if you have a special wireless interface
    # that is linked to the real $INTERFACE
    #WIFI_WAIT=5 # seconds to wait for the wireless card to
    # associate before bringing the interface up
    #USEWPA="yes" # start wpa_supplicant with the profile
    #WPAOPTS="" # use "" for normal operation or specify additional
    # options (eg, "-D ipw")
    # see /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf for configuration
    #AUTOWPA="yes" # automatically configure WPA
    #PASSKEY="" # wpa passkey/phrase. for use with AUTOWPA
    When I boot up with kernel-option "net=home" it results in a "eth1 timed out". But if I use the following iwconfig-command, it works:
    iwconfig eth1 mode managed essid "essid" channel 11 key restricted 1234567890
    What is wrong with my config? Maybe the kernel-parameter is not correct?
    Thanks for help.

  • Why using big JARs when single components could be distributed

    We are facing a problem with our Java application distribution, since the software house sends us large JARs (around 10Mb) which must be deploy to our branches at around 64Kbauds, taking at least an hour for each one. When we look at the changes, only a few 100Kb where changed (only 10 or 20 Java routines) from one version to the other of the applications.
    Is there any way to avoid this Java JARs and send and deploy only the changes. I know that certain distribution products let you take notice of this differences and package only the delta, but I don't have the knowledge to make our software provider to make him change their mind on the issue. Does anybody know the answer?
    Thanks in advance.

    BEA uses a trick which appears to work for packaging updated class files. If the classes signature (methods, parameters etc) are the same, you can take the new class files which have changed and package them in a new jar file. Then place the new jar on the classpath when starting the application, but make sure it appears before the original applications jar.
    For example say I have app.jar, and normally start it with
    java - classpath ./app.jar my.MainClass.
    If I update the myClass.class file, I would package the class in a jar called new.jar and start the app with
    java -classpath ./new.jar:./app.jar my.MainClass.
    When Javas classloader searches for a class to load, if there are two, it always takes the first one it finds.

  • Solved strange problem. Reason: a strange bug?

    Hi,
    recently I had a really strange problem, where I could not work with the enhanced classes from within a web application (but from the dos-prompt, see my prosting "Kodo says classes are not enhanced ..."). Everybody suggested it was a classpath problem, what I also
    thought was the most sensible reason, but all I tried with the classpath didn't seem to work. What I really didn't understand was that it worked before once. I couldn't think of anything that I changed, but now I tried something unreasonable, and it seems to be the reason for
    the problem. What I did was, that in the early stages of my application (when everything was still alright) I used a file package.jdo (in the classes-subdirectory) to enhance the classes. Later I changed to system.jdo in the root-dir of the package hierarchie. Now I went back
    to package.jdo, and it worked. But I can't imagine how this might change the behaviour of Kodo? The content of package.jdo / system.jdo is this:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <jdo>
         <package name="de.mediateam.quizmaster.data">
              <class name="User" />
              <class name="Category">
                   <field name="children">
                        <collection element-type="Category" />
                   </field>
                   <field name="questions">
                        <collection element-type="Question" />
                   </field>
              </class>
              <class name="Topic" persistence-capable-superclass="Category" />
              <class name="Test" persistence-capable-superclass="Category">
                   <field name="participants">
                        <collection element-type="User" />
                   </field>
              </class>
              <class name="Question">
                   <field name="prerequisites">
                        <collection element-type="Question" />
                   </field>
              </class>
              <class name="Answer" />
         </package>
    </jdo>
    There is no difference if you remove all classes but the User-class. The problem stays when it is system.jdo.
    So is this a bug with Kodo, or did I miss something in the documentation about differences between package.jdo and system.jdo?
    Cheers
    Martin

    I had system.jdo in the class-hierarchies root directory, but for web-apps this dir (web-context/WEB-INF/classes) doesn't need to be in the classpath. I just tried to copy system.jdo to the same dir as system.prefs and this works.
    It might however be helpful in such situations to get a bit more precise error message (not: "The system could not initialize; the following registered persistent types have not been enhanced: [...]").
    But thanks for your help. Mysterie solved now.

    package.jdo files, on the other hand, should be placed in the same package
    as the classes they contain metadata for. That is the only difference

  • XML processing conform to Certification of Third-Party XI-Adapters

    We are developing a XI-Adapter which needs xml processing. Actually we use some xml tools to process xml document, but we read in the document named  NW_XI_AF_certification_catalog_2.0.pdf that some requirement are not met, such as
    1. If the adapter must be able to parse XML documents, do you use the SAP J2EE XML parser libraries?
    the answer is no, we use jdom and other ways to handle xml.
    QA1: Is it a must and only way to use SAP J2EE XML parser libraries if want to pass the certification
    QA2: The topic named "Using DOM4J in XI - A More Sophisticated Option for XML Processing than SAP XML Toolkit" available at /people/amjad-ali.khoja/blog/2006/02/07/using-dom4j-in-xi--a-more-sophisticated-option-for-xml-processing-than-sap-xml-toolkit
    If do as the passage shows, will the adapter pass the certification
    QA3: Now we package all the tools we use in the sda package and deploy on the SDM, and it works too, what is the difference between package the util tools for process xml(*.jar) in sda and copy them to the corresponding j2ee dir and bin dir as shown in the passage listed

    I think an SAP man should answer here, but my common sense and SAP knowledge suggests me:
    A1: yes, evidently
    A2: the fact that DOM4J is quoted in a weblog doesn't mean it's officialy supported by SAP, it's  just an option, just like Apache Xerces and others. You can use them in interface dev, it's up to you, but an Adapter is a completly different story: SAP wants to make sure it has full control over a Certified Adapter, and the only way to do that is to have full control on the additional libraries that this Adapter uses. SAP can have this control on SAP XML Toolkit, but not on DOM4J or Xerces, obviously.
    A3: no difference, except that logically and pragmatically is much more convenient to package and deploy everyhting your stuff needs in order to work properly.
