BORIS MISSING

I have, per recommendations from you smart guyz, done a fresh install in Panther, FCP and all... Actually, I have only QT, FCP and a couple minor thing on the drive... no imovie, i photo, mail, or anything that I won't actually need for FCP work,,, Lean and mean. All seems well.
I cannot though, get Boris to work. I can see it in the applications support, but the style palette will not show when I call up Title 3d or Text crawl. I remember there was a fix for this, but I just can't remember and the archives didn't show me anything.

NOPE! Didn't work.
It installed BorisFX and Boris FX in the Application Support folder and Boris Calligraphy in the Plug-ins folder. 3d and Crawl show up in the effects tab but still no style palette.
I tried moving the FX folders to the plug ins but that didn't help, either. So I moved them back... Well, actually I trashed it all and installed Boris again.
What next?

Another BORIS MISSING thread.

I've been looking at several BORIS MISSING threads trying to find a solution, and have not found a good one yet. Here is my problem:
Originally purchased FCP studio 5.0 in 2005. Noticed Boris was missing (never needed it) about a year ago and never figured out how to get it back (didn't try very hard). Upgraded to 5.1.4 about two weeks ago, and it's still missing. Trashing preferences doesn't help.
The specifics:
Boris does not show up under generators in effects tab or in viewer generators popup.
BorisFX folder is in Application Support as it should be, and all necessary files (as mentioned in other threads) seem to be in place. What's more, if I create another account, BORIS WORKS. But I don't want to login to another account every time I want to use Boris.
Something I've noticed: I seem to recall that Boris file icons in Application Support>BorisFX were some sort of "Kind: After Effects" Icons prior to my 5.1.4 install (also prior to my recent purchase of Photoshop). Now they are either "Kind: Unix Executable File" or (under BorisFX>Gradient Styles) "Kind: Adobe Photoshop Gradient File". Would this have anything to do with my problem? Anyone have any ideas for me?

1. Open your system Plugins folder (not your own FCP User Data folder):
Macintosh Hard Drive/Library/Applications Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins
2. Copy these folders to the desktop:
Text Scrambler.bundle
Title 3D.bundle
Title Crawl.bundle
Vector Shape.bundle
3. Change the extensions on all four desktop files from bundle to .plugin
This requires password authentication. They will become blank icons.
4. Delete the original .bundle folders from the Plugins folder
7. Move the desktop .plugin files to the Plugins folder
8. Launch FCP and they should now show up under the "Boris"
generators category

Plug in boris missing

Hi,
When I upgraded to fcp 5 my boris title 3d disappeared.
The Boris plug-in is in the folder: library/aplication support/ final cut pro system support.
I have also tried to put the 3d plug in - in the folder: user/library/aplication support/ final cut pro system support.
BUT THE PROBLEM IS that the plug in looks like a blank page - it has no icon.
The same goes for aother plug ins. They look like white pages as well.
any idea why?

You should repair permissions on that drive using the disk utility and the utilities folder.

BORIS MISSING IN FCP5 - NOT IN EFFECTS FOLDER

I cannot find Boris in my effects folder nor in the text folder within the Effects folder.
Anybody know where it may be hiding?

You have two ways to access them:
1. In the Browser, click on the Effects tab and then open the Generators folder. The two Boris text plugins are Title 3d and Title Crawl.
2. In the lower right hand side of the Viewer window (video tab selected) you should see a little button that looks like a filmstrip frame with the letter A in it. Click that to reveal the Generators list. Look for the same two as above.
Or were you talking about other Boris plugins that you may have purchased?

Boris Title - Missing Text After Render

All apologies if this is an ages old bug that everyone worked to fix years ago. I was a daily editor from FCP 1.0 until 2004 or so when a project caused me to walk away from cuts and edits and crashes all together. Like a masochist, I've jumped back in, but without the prior security that came with daily readings of all the proper forums. I've tried to do my due diligence (5 hours here, 2-pop, Cow, etc) but to no avail. So....

Previews of text when using Boris Title Crawl to create a crawl look fine, but after rendering, the beginning and end of each text string, no matter how long, are missing.
So the above sentence would read:

Scrolls are no problem. Only a problem with crawls.

Deleting all renders in Render Manager, then re-rendering?
using the crawl in a different sequence or project?
trashing preferences?
I'm unable to duplicate the behavior. Seems to work fine here, with that sentence.
How are you previewing?
Do you have improperly set 'Margins' in the 'page' tab of Boris...or any crops set in 'Motion' tab of FCP?

Boris title crawl missing after converting with Compressor

Not sure where to put this, since it involves two applications, FCP and Compressor.
I have my credits done as a Boris title crawl (roll). They roll up just like credits in the average movie. They're quite long, spanning almost 4 minutes. Some videos are also included in the open space during this title crawl.
When I convert the files for use with DVD Studio, I used the DVD Best quality 90 minutes presets. It performed that conversion without a hitch.
Looking at the video, everything looks great (it's interlaced, of course). No apparent problems, until the end, where the credits should be scrolling: there's nothing. The videos show up, but only one small section of the credits actually show, and it's cut-off.
I checked the credits again in FCP, and they all fit 100% within the inner title-safe overlays. I've never had any trouble with these rolling credits, except for this problem now.
Any ideas what could cause them to almost completely disappear? most of the time the screen is pure black with absolutely NO text whatsoever. Only three lines show up, and they are cut off on both sides (they extend beyond the view of the screen on both the right and the left).

So you're saying I should just export one as a test? Or, what I was thinking is, export the title crawl as a self-contained movie, then import it back into FCP and then send it to Compressor; can't mess it up like it does if it's a strait-up video, right?
Still can't figure out why Compressor would mess it up like that though. Looks perfect when I export the whole movie as a self-contained movie, which I already did twice. I then burned a sample DVD Using iDVD as a test to see how my video looked on the TV screen. Everything was perfect, except a small amount of flickering in some text (but it wasn't enough to bother me).
Yet, sending it to Compressor completely destroys the title crawl, leaving the intermixed videos untouched. Just plain weird...

Boris "Title 3D" Missing

Hey everyone,
I've been doing a lot more work in FCE lately, and I've noticed that the "Title 3D" title generator has disappeared. I have some older projects I work on routinely that are loaded with the Title 3D, and I remember using it recently, I just can't find it. Where has it gone?

Been missing for me past couple of months (from FCP 5.1.4). Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, removed all user fonts, trashed every possible preference, run Cocktail and all manner of disk programs, and it is still missing.
It DOES work when I created a new user as suggested above. But I want to know what it is in my library folder that is preventing it from loading in my 'real' user account! I don't want to recreate every setting in all my other programs just to get Title3D to come back.

Boris Text is missing

I've updated to FCS2 and since then I've had to reinstall the software 3 times for various reasons. Now my Boris 3D text is not in the effects tab, nor is the text scrambler or any Boris text generator. The plugin is there and I can copy and paste old 3D text into new projects, but I can't just go to the effects tab select the text generator. Can anyone tell me where I can place the Boris files so Final Cut recognizes them? Or is something else I can do so Final Cut recognizes them? I'm using a G5 with Dual 2 Ghz processors, 2.5 GB Ram and OS 10.4.11.

I'd suggest you don't update, but you rebuild your startup disk from the ground up... you needn't install earlier versions, but just have their serials handy... that's all you'll need.

Boris 3D titler missing

Using FCP 5.0 and am in the middle of a project. The Boris titler 3D has disappeared from the video generator, text, menu? The download to reinstall boris on the FCP support site states it is for version 3.0 of FCP. And it doesn't seem to work anyway I get an error message stating that files are not found. How to I get my titler back? Is it a painful reinstall of FCP or is there an eaiser way?

To reinstall Final Cut Pro effectively, you need to remove the application and its receipts, then install Final Cut Pro and use Software Update to install additional updates.
You don't have to remove everything that was installed with Final Cut Pro. Follow the steps below to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Final Cut Pro. Note: Make sure that you have your installation discs and serial number handy before starting this.
1. Open the Applications folder.
2. Drag the Final Cut Pro application to the Trash.
3. Go to /Library/Receipts.
4. In the Receipts folder, select the "FinalCutPro.pkg" file.
5. Choose View > as List to view the contents in a list.
6. Click the Date Modified column header so you can easily see all of the receipts that were installed at the same time as Final Cut Pro.
7. Drag the FinalCutPro.pkg receipt to the Trash, as well as any other items that have the same modification date within 3 minutes of the FinalCutPro.pkg's modification date.
8. Click the Name column header to sort the list alphabetically.
9. Drag any other receipts whose names begin with "Final Cut Pro" to the Trash.
10. Insert your Final Cut Pro installation disc and install Final Cut Pro.
When finished, use Software Update (under the Apple menu) to update your software to the latest version.

BAPI is missing. How to get a BAPI in BOR?

in my SAP BW 3.1 exits a BAPI names MDDataSetBW. I want to use this BAPI in a ABAP-Programm, which is exists on a R/3 Enterprise. Using CALL FUNCTION ' BAPI_<..>_<..> don´t work. Wenn im browsing through the BAPI-Explorer (TSC: BAPI) at R/3, i can´t found the BAPI. Browsing at SAP BW, BAPI exists.
RFC connection through both systems is established, sm59 gives okay. Extracting Data from R/3 through DataSources and store them at the Data Warehouse also work. The systems know each other.
Testing on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 AS the BAPI-Explorer and the BAPI exists, not not in R/3 Enterprise. Patchlevel is up to date. ALE ist enabled.
Im running out of ideas. Anybody a idea, how kann i get access to the BAPI? whats wrong?

Missing link to Service Desk Message in e-mailed attached HTM doc

When e-mailing a Service Desk Message, the receiver gets an e-mail with an attached HTM document. However, when opening the HTM document, the following is included:

I am curious as to what I missed in the configuration. I have combed through the forum on Service Desk configuration and have rechecked everything that was suggested in the forum; but I can't seem to find the piece that inserts the URL into the HTM document that gets attached to the e-mail when the service desk message is sent to a message processesor. I couldn't find an answer in service.sap.com.
We are using SAP SolMan 7.0 support pack 17

Match Codes / Search Helps for Duplicate Check Vendor are missing

I'm trying to enable the Duplicate Check for the Vendor solution we have here and I couldn't help, but notice that when I'm setting up the DB Search in "Define Search Application", the out of the box values for existing search helps are already preconfigured and the values are the following:
BP MC_BP_ADDRESS Address Data
BP MC_BP_BANK_DETAIL Bank Details
BP MC_BP_GENERAL General Data
BP MC_BP_ID_NUMBER Identification Numbers
BP MC_BP_ROLES BP Roles
Unfortunately, when I check in SE11 - those search helps do not exist in the system. How can I get them deployed? Are they part of a Business Set that I missed to install and activate?

Using the transaction launcher to call a BOR method to display a PDF

Hello gurus,
I have created a PDF icon and an onclick action to open a pdf, that displays on every row of an assignment block in the actions column, but I do not know the technical process to determine how to get a PDF from the IXOS system from the line selected. (even if I know it depends on an ID attribute of that assignment block) I want to to call a transaction launcher with the url for the pdf in the IXOS that has an ID that identifies which line in the assignment block the user has clicked the pdf icon for (does that make sense?)
In CRM 4, in the collection factsheet assignment block, the link was coded into an XSLT which is then displayed in the GUI and you would have a clickable link for a pdf file in a row in a table. That link would be as follows:

This will get the file in IXOS and display it, in CRM 4. In CRM 7, the link is an icon in every line of an assignment block.
Here are some questions I have now for the functional side in the meantime:
1) Can we fetch the PDF in IXOS for each line of an assignment block and have it open? If so, how? Transaction launcher, function modules (like ARCHIVOBJECT_DISPLAY) in the OPTA package? (the package for all IXOS related function modules..)
2) Which URL should I call with the transaction launcher? a URL link to the PDF on the IXOS system?? or sapevent:xxx?
3) Do we have to configure a transaction in the IMG to be launched with the attributes listed there? Do we have to link it to any classes/ objects?
4) Do we have to have the code to the logical link dynamically to call the right PDF for each table line? Is it right to put this code in my event handler?? Usually transaction launchers are just in the nav bar.....
5) Are there any existing examples of this or a similar functionality/ logic that I could refer to, preferably in CRM 7 WebUI?
6) Do you have any code to just display a PDF in a new window? Or prompt a download?
One possible way I thought of would be for me to have a logical link defined in the IMG for the transaction launcher, and have the attributes defined for my BOR object that I would call, and pass it different attributes (eg. objtype, objkey, logsys...) and then return the PDF and display it in the UI in a new browser window by itself. (There is a BOR method for my BOR object named 'display_pdf'!!!!)
What do you think would be the optimal solution here? Does my theory of calling a BOR object with a transaction launcher to display a PDF make ANY sense whatsoever???
Please do not hesitate to propose any potential solution. Any partial answers/ links to wikis/ other threads, anything would be much appreciated.

Steps Performed:
I want to list down all the steps I performed to launch an SE38 transaction using transaction launcher on the WEBUI
1) Defined logical system in tcode CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS
-The logical link looks like this

BOR Objects in ABAP OO class

I am using a BOR objects, but in one of my activity I am trying to use a Z class. In the method of the Z class I want to get some of the attributes of the BOR class.
I have followed the same approach ( Defining constant ) as mentioned in the blog by Jocelyn Dart.
I am able to get the Binding in the workflow but not able to get the attribute value or instantiated object in the method.
How do I get those attributes or the instance of the BOR object in the method. Am I missing something?

Well I wanted to achieve something as follows:
1) The workflow was getting triggered from an Event of the BOR. So the binding was from the event to the workflow
2) Now the second step in the workflow was a method of a Zclass in the workflow. Somehow I was not getting the key of the BOR to the class so that the class can be instiated. ( Say the PR number or PO number which triggered the event)
I am able to do it using static attribute of the class to instiate the class. I do know whether the approach is right, but somehow it resolved my issue.
1) I declared a static attribute in the class.
2) Defined a container and hold the value in the container from the event object id. ( This holds the PO number which triggered the workflow )
3) In the binding between the workflow and the task where my class was used, I passed the container to the static attribute of the class.
4) In the class method FIND_BY_LPOR, I used the static attirbue instead of LPOR-INSTID to create the object.

SAP - MS Word 2000 (missing form fields)

I designed a report to download quality notification data into MS Word.
I use MS Word 2003 on my laptop. The users have MS Word 2000.
Steps that I followed :
1. Create a template using program SAPRDEMO_FORM_INTERFACE
2. Save the template on your desktop.
3. Upload the Template into BOR using TCode OAER.
4. Write a report to get the form open in Word & then populate the fields created with the data from the program.
The ZProgram has the following logic :
1. Create instance for BDS
2. Get Document info
3. Get Document URL
4. Set application type.
5. Open Word Document
6. Check Form interface
7. Get the Form interface
8. Get the Form variables
9. Fetch data from R/3 & populate the structures
10. Pass the variables to the Form Interface.
Steps 1-9 are done. The problem occurs in step 10. Using MS Word 2003, I am able to pass all data from R/3 to the respective fields in the form. But using MS Word 2000, users are getting few fields and some are missed. I got MS Office 2000 installed on one of our machines. The problem I face is none of the fields are getting populated in step 10.
Please suggest if MS Word 2000 form interface is compatible with SAP 4.6C.

There is no specific Error Message.
The Fields in the Word document 2000 are not getting populated appropriately from the program.
The Method as shown below is getting executed successfully but values are not getting properly passed to the fields in the Word Document 2000.
This is not the case with MS Word 2003. All fields' data is getting accurately populated.

This method in Italicized code is getting executed successfully but values are not getting passed to the MSWord2000 Document.
I tried all the 3 document types as mentioed in SOI type group.

           SOI_DOCTYPE_WORD95_DOCUMENT(15) TYPE C
