Boris not Working in FCP6

I have read several of the posts regarding Boris not working in FCP6, or not showing up in FCP6.
I can open Title 3D in Final Cut and I can get the Boris menu but I cannot use the Style palette and the text window is stuck in the verticle layout. I have tried reinstalling FCP and various other remedies listed on this site to no avail. Anyone have any ohter ideas

With a 3rd-party tool such as this, I would not be surprised if there were additional preference and resouce files that might not get replaced with the standard upgrade of an existing install. The best way to avoid this would be to do a full erase and install of your system before installing FCP6.
Boris has not been updated of modified since the previous implementations of FCP Studio, so it's conceivable that there may be some compatibility issues there, but I have used several different FCS2 systems on which Boris has been working as well as it ever has, and so I suspect your installation method as the cause of this issue.

Make Subclip with In/Out marks not working in FCP6

I've captured HDV media in FCP6 using Capture Now and the master clips are captured are broken up by scene. When I attempt to make subclips using In/Out marks on the master clips I get a jagged-edge icon subclip that contains the entire master clip. The subclip does not contain any In/Out marks. AUTORENDER NOT WORKING in FCP6

Preferences say to Autorender after 20 min. including OPEN sequences. In previous versions of FCP I could walk away from computer and AR would kick in on its own, whether I started a render or not. I've got 23 sequences open and want to do an overnight Hi-Res render of all. Usually I just 'apple a' within first sequence and then 'apple r' to set it off. I came in this morning and found only the first sequence rendered?!?
Now I realize that I can highlight all sequences within the browser and render that way...but then what IS the reason for AUTO-render??

Hm... after rereading your original post, I think the problem is TELLING it to render in the first place. Here's how to test:
1) make a new project with two sequences, both requiring short, small renders
2) set your autorender time to "1 minute"
3) sit there for a minute and see what happens.
4) try repeating the test by TELLING the first sequence to render, then waiting a minute to see if it goes for the second sequence.

I know what your'e going through, Gary.   OSX 10.6.7 is an absolute disaster.   Since I upgraded, I've had problems in FCP, Logic, Garageband, even issue dealing with peripheral hardware like external monitors.
Before 10.6.7 my system was running fine.
I've brought this up with Apple repeatedly.   They smile and shrug.   They've been helpful resolving the issues, but none of them has been easy to solve. I have spent days, dealing back and forth with tech support, sending logs, etc., before solutions have been found.
I wish I could give you an answer to your question.   My only guess is that Apple has totally dropped the ball on this one.   In the future they should provide a disclaimer when they offer an upgrade. Something like:   "Caution: all of your software may not function after this upgrade. But go ahead, you'll feel cool that your OS is the latest thing."
As someone who has been with Apple for close to 25 years, I'm disturbed by what appears to be an increasing sloppiness in their work.   This is especially disturbing when you depend upon their system to make your living.

Hdmi does not work

I am trying to hook up a logitech revue unit to my hitachi hdtv. It requires an hdmi input. When we first got fios, (qip 6200 p2 stb), no amount of fiddling with cables, settings and what not got hdmi to work. After much frustration, etc. said to hell with it and went with component output. Worked fine. Now I need hdmi. TV keeps saying "no video signal. " Tried all three hdmi tv ports and tried all tv input option settings. No go. It did come on intermittently , but only after an un-acceptable delay. Yes! I did disconnect the component outputs before trying the HDMI. have rebooted and resetted the world to no avail. According to the various forums, this Motorola hdmi fiasco has been ongoing for almost three years. I want a fix, ASAP. Or at least a reliable date for a fix. BTW I am an EE+ computer science engineer. I've tried the entire customer service 101 stuff so please don't tell me to change my cables.

As I said in my posting, I am a professional. I would not have bought the unit had I not seen the logitech listing of compatible STB. Also, be assured that I have hooked it up correctly. There does not appear to be any way to do it wrong.

Transaction launcher not working for custom business role

Hi Experts,
I am facing a very weird problem where the transaction laucher define for BOR transaction is working for one business role(Z business role Customized one) but its not working for other business role (Z business role).
to emphasize further we have the code:-
case ls_attributes-object_type.
    when lc_z23 or lc_z25.
      lv_logical_link = lc_ZITISU.
    when lc_BUS2000115.
      lv_logical_link = lc_ZITERP1.
    when others.
      lv_logical_link = lc_ZITERP2.
endcase.
l_if_navigation = cl_crm_ui_navigation_service=>get_instance( me ).
IF l_if_navigation IS BOUND .
Navigate to transaction launcher using link id
    l_if_navigation->navigate( iv_link_id = lv_logical_link ).
ENDIF.
in this the logical link is is lc_ZITISU whenever this BSP application is called from both the business roles but in one the window opens up for BOR transaction whereas when we login again using different business role the code is the same as given above. I mean the sam logical link id is used and navigated to but window is not opening for transaction launcher as it happens for the previous business role.
Request your help to resolve this issue.

Hi,
I tried by applying the PFCG role id of business role which was working to the business role id of the one for which it wasn't working and then try testing whether the transaction launcher is triggering. But the transaction launcher screen is still not opening even after doing this.
Probably there's something else too which is causing the problem. Request your inputs on this,

the server AWI policy defined (Politica_Import_Remove_CCRTV) says to put the newly created workstation into the user container, that's why uses the user to locate the destination container.
What I've been observing is that the process to automatically create the workstation runs before the user writes his login/password (I suppose the process is initiated by the Workstation Manager), so no username is still defined !!!! (as you can see in the log file, in the line under "Version=zfd4", "username=")
Why the Workstation Manager launches the process in the AWI server BEFORE the user logins??????
Some week ago, once the user got logged, without automatically creating the workstation object, if we run "zwsreg", then the workstation was rightly created. That's was our salvation. Unfortunately, now even this method is not working ...
I had the intuition (now discarded) that the error was in the ZDM 6.5SP2 AWI server; so I've installed a new ZDM 7SP1 server, and a new AWI policy. But the results were the same. With a ZDM 6.5sp2 agent in the workstation, or a ZDM 7sp1 agent. It doesnt matter.
So it seems the problem is on the eDir 8.7.3 tree, or maybe on the workstation, but haven't done any important changes in both elements before the problem appeared.
Another thing I've noted is that the login count doesn't get incremented !!!!
I've followed the TID 10056909 "Automatic Workstation Import/Removal Errors and Suggested Remedies", and the TID 10074993 "Unable to import workstations to User's Container"; the version of the ZENPOL32.DLL is 08/09/2005 ... I've re-created several times the AWI policy.
Any idea ????

it launches during boot, after the user logged in, when the user logs out,
when you shutdown the wks and when you run zwsreg..

Query in Main Task Not Working But it works For BG Task

I have a requirement to send work item to different level approvers for that i have to find final level approver from a table and save the data accordingly ,
i have a main task and a Background task
<b> my problem is that the same query that works in back ground task is not working in the Main Task.</b>
SWC_GET_ELEMENT CONTAINER 'LEVEL' Level. is a macro written in the method in BOR in main task for getting value which is in the WF container and has binded to the task container. it is not picking up the value from the task container to the method.
Please help me on this

One Method is for first Main task and another is for second task(which is a background task)
i need to get a value called final from a table, i've written a query in the method of Back ground task. and i'm getting the value correctly but i'm not able to pass this value to the main task coz the loop exits after executing the subtask and coz loops exit point is the value final.
So for getting the value of Final in main task i've written the same query in main task but its not working.

I am afraid I have reverted to Snow Leopard as I was having one problem after another with Lion and for every problem I was solving, two new ones cropped up. I won't bore you with a long list, but one example is whenever I clicked on a single saved document to view, Microsoft Word would open not only that particular document, but also half a dozen other ones as well. Also, my Canon printer did not operate properly nor would Aol. With a lot of other weird stuff happening every day, the final straw was when my Time Capsule wouldn't backup properly, but just 'hang' indefinitely.
Luckily, I have two HD disks on my iMac and I had installed Lion on HD2 while still retaining Snow Leopard on HD1. I also made a Lion installation disk for future installation when all these software bugs have been sorted.
I am back to normal service with Snow Leopard and shall not return to Lion until at least the next upgrade/patch becomes available. I so looked forward to Lion as well, but I was fighting a losing battle.
I would suggest anyone who is in my position trying to stem the tidalwave of software problems with Lion, make an installation disk for Lion and go back to SL until the next upgrade.

Final Cut 6 and Color does not work

I bought FInal Cut Pro Studio 2 and i receive the suite today and instal only apps ( no contents and loops )without problem
Tried to open FCP6 and Color but not working.
i launch FCP 6 or Color,2 jumps on dock and then quit.
can be memory problem.( i have 768RAM on my imac G5 64VRAM)
any pacth to resolv this problem?
ps* SountrackPro 2,DVDStudio Pro,Motion3,LiveType,CinemaTools and Compressor woks fine in the same computer

Cinema Preview not working on Samsung synchmaster

Hey there all,
I recently bought a used 2x 2.26 Quad-core MacPro--got a great price and love the faster speed over my previous Power Mac. I'm using my 20" Al Cinema Display and I bought a Samsung 2333HD Synchmaster for a 2nd Display and for OTA HDTV when I'm not working on a project. The Samsung is connected via DVI>HDMI and is a very good TV and a decent display for extended desktop when I'm running multiple apps but, I can't get it to display Cinema Preview when I'm running FCP6--it will flash and goes to black. I'm guessing that the Samsung's HDMI input won't recognize the Canvas playback as "copy protected" and so won't display it. I even went into Display Prefs and switched the toolbar and still no love for Digital Cinema Preview on the Apple display. Is there a work around or should I consider a 2nd 20" Al Cinema Display or use(settle for) the VGA input on the Samsung. I'm not doing anything for broadcast, just my own projects and a few jobs that go direct to DVD for local sale at my church. I previously had a DP Power Mac w/ 2.0GHZ, 2.5 GB RAM and 64MB GPU, a 23" Philips 720p HD-ready TV & used its DVI input that displayed 1080i but, cut off video(no overscan/underscan controls on TV) all way around and never experienced this issue of 2nd attahrd screen going black.
Mac Pro info--Mac OS 10.6/Snow Leopard, 2x 2.66GHz Dual-core CPU = Quad-core, Nvidia GeForce 7300GT(256MB RAM), 4x 512MB sticks of RAM = 2 GB, 2x Pioneer DVR111D Superdrives, 500GB HDD. I have an Apple DVI>VGA adapter but, it's too large to sit next to the connector for the Cinema Display's DVI connector--not enough space between the 2 outputs--not opposed to "shaving" some off either or both to make the adapter fit.

I figured it out. It had been so long since I used FCP, I'd forgotten I needed to refresh AV Devices and the select how I wanted to use Digital Cinema Preview. All is well and things are behaving just fine.

I have maintained access sequences of free goods self-defined.but when i creat the SO it does not work!
when i used the standard access sequences ,it is OK .

Dear Sandy,
Go to V/N1 transaction select your self defined access sequence then go in to the accesses and fields and check all fields are activated.
Make sure that these fields are flowing in your sales order.
