Boris Plug-Ins not recognized

In my plug-in folder (application support/Final Cut Pro System Support) there are four folders: Text Scrambler.bundle, Title 3D.bundle, Title Crawl.bundle and Vector Shape.bundle. When I open FCP 6.0.5, these 4 plug-ins are not recognized. There isn't even Boris folder in Generator effects. Are they in the wrong folder?

Peter Marbach wrote:
No, there is no entry. Is it normal that .bundles look like a normal folder?
FCP plugins are elegant gray Lego block seen from a corner, they have the FCP logo on one face and FX on another.
On my system those doodads to which you refer are flat pictures of Lego icons with the word EFFECT in the base but that's because they are identified by the OS as After Effects plugins. They're kind of a deep purplish color.
Not sure what could be wrong with your rig but those bundles should have unbundled and installed themselves. You might try control-clikcing on one and telling it to open with FCP, see what happens. Get Info… and you should be able to change all of them to be recognized by FCP6.

  • Why are my plug-ins not recognized by Photoshop CS5?

    Hello,
It seems my plug-ins are not recognized at all by Photoshop CS5:
    - Imagenomic
    - Photokit Sharpener
    - Photomatix
and even the - Optional Plug-ins given by Adobe are not working
I get a panel that says:
"could not complete your request because Photoshop doesn't recognize this type of file"
    Am I doing something wrong?
    The plug-ins are in:
    Applications>Adobe Photoshop CS5>Plug-ins>Automate>PK Sharpener
    or
    Applications>Adobe Photoshop CS5>Plug-ins>Optional Plug-Ins
    or
    Applications>Adobe Photoshop CS5>Plug-ins>Imagenomic
    or
    Applications>Adobe Photoshop CS5>Plug-ins>Filters>Tone Mapping
    Thanks for your help!

sorry I've found the answer... not running in 32 bits... What a shame...

  • Plug-ins not recognized

    Logic is not recognizing:
    - Cakewalk Dimension Pro
    - Native Instruments StormDrum
    - Native Instruments Battery
    - Spectrasonics Atmosphere
    - Spectrasonics Stylus RMX
    Logic is recognizing:
    - IK Philharmonik Orchestra
    - IK Sonik Synth 2
So, any ideas on what could be the problem? I rely heavily on these plugins.. What things could I try to have them work?
The strange thing is that; Rax can see all the plugins and Digital Performer can see all the plugins. But it's Logic and (Garageband) that cannot see any but just those two.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried opening the AU Validation tool, and re-scanning from there? Often times, that'll fix plug-ins that you know have passed before.
NI's Storm Drum, and Spectrasonics Atmosphere and RMX passed fine over here.
And there is a new 1.6.1 update for RMX available now, specifically for Logic 8 users, that fixes the multi-channel problem.

  • Boris plug ins not showing up in effect menu?

I had to uninstall and reinstall my system. Everything is fine except my Boris effects are not showing up the effect menu. The disc was installed and the a copy of the folder is in the library app support and the FCP system support folder. Why don't I see them in the program?

yes- I have the few Boris options that come with FCS.
But I'm talking about the full Boris Complete effect application. The effects should be in the video filter drop down menu. For some reason they are not showing up.

  • Migrating PS CS3 to Intel with OS 10.5.6 Plug-ins Not Available

After migrating CS3 to MacBook Pro, 10.5.6, a list of unavailable plug-ins comes up. All except two were PS plug-ins, NOT aftermarket. Sure enough, they don't show up in the filters menu. I don't know where else they are missing. (migrated from Powerbook 10.4.11)
    What is to be done?
    CS3, OS 10.5.6/ MB Pro 2GB ram, 2.4 Ghz

Migrating is never a great idea, but migrating an application originally installed under Tiger on a PowerPC machine to a Mac-Intel box running Leopard goes beyond being a monumentally bad, horrendous idea. It's sheer lunacy!
You need to wipe out that drive, or at least use the Adobe Uninstaller (installed by CS3 in Applications/Utilities/Adobe/ on your old machine), look for, download and run the CS3Clean script, and then install the application from the original media.
Also, realize that any plug-ins that were not written in Universal Binary will NOT run under CS3 on the Mac-Intel machine,
unless you run CS3 under Rosetta software emulation with a corresponding
    massive performance hit.
    Never, ever try
    "migrating" again. :(

  • I am using CS4. Can I open CS6 files? I am receiving "plug-ins not available on your system" messages and I'd like to open anyway but clicking on OK doesn't work.

InDesign CS4 can open .indd, .indt  and .inx files from earlier versions, but not from later. It should, however, be able to open .idml files saved or exported from newer versions, with the understanding that unsupported features will be lost, text will probably reflow due to differences in texts engines between versions, and that the greater the gap between versions the more likely there are to be noticeable differences from the original. You will need to be sure CS4 is at version 7.0.6 to read the .idml.

  • Plug ins not indicating presets/number

Wondering if anyone may know what may be causing the preset selection on plug-ins not to show anymore. I'm getting this (_ _ _), instead of what used to be preset 01, 02, or 03 etc..... .I'm thinking maybe I need more ram, or the battery on my mac is running low, but I'm not sure.

    In response to your questions
    1. I did not install them.  They were installed by CS4.  (I have the CS4 premium production suite for Mac)
    2. Correct.--  the project that I opened shows the plugin.  And the plug-in is fully operational.  All the parameters work.
    3. Correct--. the plug-ins are not found in the Effect menu, nor the Effects and Presets panel but they are in the Plug-un Folder (see below).  This makes me wonder how many more plugins  I have that I cannot get access to.  I realize that all of the features in the PSClassic and PS LE Classic are probably in the Particle System II, but using the PS Classic was easy and straight forward compared to figuring out all of the parameters in Particle system to get similar results.
Notice the date on the plug-in in the attached picture (Created 6/22/09)
If you have CS3 or CS4 you probably have these plugins in your folder also.  The last copyright on the book is 2004.

  • Boris Plug-Ins

Hello folks, a friend of mine let me try Boris FX V10, but the filters or plug-ins do not
show up on the effects panel or my Premiere Pro CS5.5
I did a search and found some text / tips on this, but really not much.
Any ideas how to make Premiere Pro CS5.5 to see the plugin from Boris FX 10 ?
I think there is a problem related to the installation folder location....
    Thanks

  • Nik Software Plug-ins not working with LR3

    Hello,
I have both LR 2.7 and LR3 running on my computer.  When I installed LR 3, it load the Nik software plug-ins into the external editor section like LR 2.7.  However, when I try to use a Nik plug-in in LR 3 I get an error message that the " File xxxxx.tif can not be opened because it does not exist or access is denied."  The Nik interface opens, then I get this error message, but then it places the xxxxx.tif file in the film strip.  The plug-ins work just fine with LR 2.7.  I've uninstalled and re-installed the plug-ins, but the same error message pops up in LR 3.  I have contacted Nik Software, but have not gotten an answer that works.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, what was your solution.  I've tried everything I know of except uninstalling LR 3 and re-installing.  I'm using Windows 7 64bit.  I have CS4 (32 and 64bit) and CS5 (32 and 63bit) running and the plug-ins work just fine with them.
Thanks for your help in advance!
    Dennis

    Hi Martin,
You might try going in the pref and under external editing and try to manually set up each one.  Go down to additonal external editing.  Click on Choose and then go to the folder where you have your Nik software installed and choose the program file.  There will be dialog box telling you to name the file, call it anything you want and the click ok.  Go to the drop down bar and select Save as new preset.  Close LR3 and then reopen and check to see if your program is there under the new name.  If not, you probably will have un-install all the plug-ins and re-install.  Hope this helps!

  • Error message Plug-ins not upgraded, cannot open

A client sent me a CS3 InDesign that won't open. It says my plug-ins are not upgraded. It lists all the plug-ins and they
are features that already exist in InDesign such as preflight and collect. How can I get the file to open?

I cannot insert the screenshot .jpg's into my e-mail. So here are the messages:
    Error message 1.)
    CONDITIONALTEXT.RPLN
    WORDREADY.RPLN
The "file.indd" uses one or more plug-ins which are not currently available on your system. Do you want to open anyway?
    Error message 2.)
List of 21 plug-ins (many in this list are standard items in my CS3 InDesign such as preflight)
Cannot open "document.indd" please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign.
InCopy is listed as one of the plug-ins. Does that tell you something? Let me know if you need additional information.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X - plug-ins not loaded

I recently purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro for our company with multiple user licences.  Once installed I noticed a lot of features which were in previous versions are not available.  When I select the “Help” “About Adobe Plug-ins...” tab, almost all of the plug-ins are not loaded. Is this right and if not, how do I fix it. After reading numerous blogs I still do not have an answer – most refer to 3rd party plug-ins but not to this problem. NB: I am not an IT expert, but can help myself fairly well on software. Using Windows 7. Uninstalled Google Chrome as someone suggested it affects the plug-ins (which also did not solve the problem!)

    It's working correctly.
The Help > About Adobe Plug-ins dialog shows the status of dynamic extensions which ship with Acrobat - not third-party plugins you may have installed yourself. These core extensions are loaded on demand, so if you don't have a document open, very few of them will be loaded. It's why the dialog bothers to tell you their status in the first place.
Third-party plugins need to be reinstalled if you upgrade to Acrobat X, as the installation folder is different. Some that were written for previous versions won't work with Acrobat X, especially if they're not designed to cope with the Tools Pane or Protected View in 10.1, but they will not appear on that dialog - they appear on the next menu item down, "About Third-Party Plug-ins".
The UI in Acrobat X is radically different from previous versions, but very few features are actually missing - what are you looking for that you can't find?

  • Plug-ins not showing up in Aperture 3.1

I have been using Aperture for a past few days, and when i tried to instal two plug-in programs (photoshelter - it is a photo hosting site and the plug in allows you to upload photos directly to the site, and HSC edit - this is an edit tool I downloaded from the Apple site). Neither of them show up in the menu of Aperture. I tried re-installing, but doesn't work. what could i be doing wrong?

    Frank,
I have a similar situation that you seem like you might understand.
I bought a new computer, started a new user (A), and downloaded Aperture. Then I realized it was easier to move the pictures from my old computer by transferring everything from that computer, creating another user (B) on my new computer. Since then I havent used user A at all, but now I can't access plug-ins for Aperture. Based on your posts above I checked user B and sure enough there are the plug-ins. I tried to repair permissions in the disk utility, and that didn't help. I restarted the program after each try.
Any idea of what I might try next?
On a separate note, I've been unhappy with this new macbook pro from the start, as compared to my old macbook, in terms of speed. Plus the battery life *****, which is a main reason i ditched the last one, no where near as advertised. Could an extraneous unnecessarily running/ partitioned in the background be creating any problems for speed or battery life? Or was dumping in everything from my old computer a bad idea?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

  • "3rd Party Plug-Ins" Not Showing Up In Preference Pane...

I'm trying to install a couple of 3rd-Party Plug-Ins... Apparently the procedure for this is to go to Preferences, and in the "General" pane, there should be a heading that says "3rd Party Plug-Ins" along with buttons "Choose..." and "Clear" and a path.
On my General Preferences Pane, there is no such section... It goes right from "Content Library & Templates" to "Media," with no "3rd Party Plug-Ins" listed anywhere in the pane.
Using Motion 3.0.2.... Did something change and they didn't change the manual to match? Or is there some setting elsewhere that's making that option disappear?
    Thanks!!!
    Nick

    Howdy,
The "3rd party plug-ins" section in the Library and preferences really refers to AE plug-ins. Third-party FxPlug plug-ins (like dvMatte or Boris Continuum) show up mixed in with the regular filters and generators.
That "3rd party plug-ins" path setting in the preferences doesn't appear on Intel-based Macs, as they're no longer supported. If you have a PowerPC system, they'll show up (and so will the setting).
