Bose SoundLink Air and Airplay - Connectivity!

Hi all,
I'm having a long-running battle with Airplay that I really hope someone can offer some help with.
I've had a Bose SoundLink Air speaker for a couple of years now which has always worked fine, except for the last maybe 3 or 4 months.
When trying to play music through the speaker using either my iPhone 5s or iPad (3rd generation), playback will last maybe a minute or two maximum before the connection with Airplay is lost and therefore playback stops. The Airplay symbol will disappear from my phone/iPad for only a second or two and then reappear, at which point I can reconnect and start playing the music again; but the cycle repeats...
Both the iPhone and iPad are using the most recent versions of iOS and, as mentioned above, have worked fine with the Bose speaker in the past. Ironically, I have a PC and laptop, both running Windows 7, that stream music to the speaker flawlessly via iTunes; no drop-outs whatsoever - it only seems to be the Apple products that are struggling! The fact that the PC and laptop play with no issues satisfies me that there are no issues with WiFi connectivity (also, I don't experience any other issues with the network).
If anyone has come across this issue before and is aware of a fix, I'd be really grateful for some advice as I'm now at a loss. For reference, I've made no changes to my network/set up etc. recently.

I moved to a pc and setup and have been streaming - I havent lost connecting, but it is HARD WIRED. It seems to be a problem with every device that is connected to my network thru wireles, and then wirelessly streaming. When I stream to the BOSE from a PC or LAPTOP that is hardwired into the net, we're fine. So far!

Bose Soundlink air (Wifi / Airplay Issues)

I got a bose Soundlink Air (Wi-Fi) for xmas, but I am having connection problems.
My setup is:
- Windows Vista Home Premium SP2
- Sky Broadband
- Netgear Router DG834GT flashed to firmware v 1.03.22, encryption WPA2-PSK
- iTunes 10.7
- Eset Smart Security 5
I have run the bose setup process and the speaker successfully connects to the network (bright blue indicator). I can see it connected on the router config.
But when I try to connect through Itunes (I can see it), it just hangs on the connection, sometimes giving 15000 error unknown.
I am thinking router config, but am not good enough to resolve myself. Both Sky and Bose helpdesks unhelpful.
Tried speaker on similar setup, but O2 BB / Norton 360 and worked fine
Any ideas?

Ios 7.0.6 Problems with Bose SoundLink Air with Airplay

Hello,
We recently updated all of our ios devices to ios 7.0.6. We have found that when using our Airplay Bose speaker, eveything will work great for a minute or so just to suddenly drop. However, it works just find with my Macbook Pro. I have slowed wireless signal (2.4 GHz N wireless) and still have the same problem. Has anyone else had this problem and did you solve it?

A lot of computers don't provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.

Zeppelin Air and Airplay

So I am thinking of buying one of these but the Airplay part is £100 more than the non-air and I am not sure if I will use it.
I currently have a Time Capsule and Macbook Pro (both bought in Sept 2010 new) along with an iPad 1, iPhone 4 and latest iPod Touch.
It sounds like the Zeppelin creates a wifi network which I then have to connect to with the MBP so I can stream the music from iTunes on the MBP to the Zeppelin.
The issue with this is that I solely use the wifi connection on my MBP to access the internet so would rather not disconnect this everytime I want to play music.
Have I got this right? Is there a way around this using the hardware I have or with some new additional hardware?

Got it.. You need to just expand the window by clicking in right hand corner.. the default window size only allows room for the first 2 options!

How to setup ADSL moden router and Airport Express 802.11n (1st Generation) to provide internet and airplay connections to multiple devices?

I have a Netgear wireless ADSL modem router (wireless + four ethernet out ports) that i'd like to connect to a 1st gen Airport Express to create a small home network to provide internet access for a MacBook, iPhone and Apple TV, and to provide Airplay connection to the Apple TV and Airport Express audio output jack.
I'd like to turn off the wireless function of the ADSL modem router, and to have from one of its ethernet out ports an ethernet cable providing internet directly connected to my MacBooks ethernet port.
Then from one of the other ethernet outs on the ADSL modem router an ethernet cable connected to the Airport Express's ethernet port. This would be to provide wireless internet connection for the Apple TV and iPhone via WiFi from the AE.
At the same time as the MacBook is receviing internet soley via the ethernet in port, i'd like it to have WiFi connection to the AE to provide Airplay connection to the Apple TV and the AE's audio out jack.
Is this all possible? How should I go about to configure this? How should the AE's ethernet port be configured?
Any special modes the ADSL modem router or Airport Express should be in? ie bridge or client?

On the ADSL modem router web-based interface, should I set any security setting? I think not as there'll be no wireless signal coming from it, only wired ethernet connections to both MacBook and AE. Security should only be set on the AE to prevent someone from accessing its WiFi signal. Is this assumption correct?

How should I go about setting up security for this network?
First I would recommend that you configure the AirPort Express for WPA2 Personal. This will provide you with the greastest level of security while still providing excellent bandwidth performance.
You would configure wireless security for the Express by using the AirPort Utility on a Mac, PC, or iOS device. Using your MacBook Pro as an example, you would do so as follows:
Run the AirPort Utility.
Select the Express, and then, click on Edit.
Select the Wireless tab to enable it.
Set the Wireless Security option to: WPA2 Personal
Enter the desired password in both the Wireless Password & Verify Password fields. Note: Use of a "strong" password is encourage here. By strong, I mean use a mix of upper/lowercase letters, numbers, & punctuation marks. Try not to use common dictionary words. If you operate your wireless in an area where security is of an utmost concern, I would further suggest that you change the wireless security password every 60-90 days. Also don't forget to change the default AirPort Base Station Administrator password as well.
Click on Update and allow the Express to restart.

Macbook Air and "Server connections interrupted" plague.

So there is a very known issue with Airport Extremes that have hard drives connected to them and an intermitent "Server connections interrupted" popup that as far as I can tell has yet to be addressed by Apple or solved by users (there are tons of threads on the issue). The popup looks like this (not my image):
I have experienced this issue for quite a while now due to my keeping my iTunes library on the Extreme-connected hard drive and the annoyances it causes, primarily iTunes 'losing' the iTunes Media folder location in iTunes preferences and then not knowing where mp3s are and having 'broken' song connections in iTunes, not knowing where to add new mp3s because the Media folder location is blank/empty, or most annoyingly, defaulting back to the Macbook's internal hard drive and storing new mp3s in it's iTunes Media folder, thus spreading my library across two locations/drives.
Now, for a long time I just dealt with it on my Macbook, not a big deal, but now I'm on a new MB Air and it's slim 128gb drive. I'm now moving nearly everything to the external - iTunes, iPhoto Library, Aperture library, various archive folders and reference materials, etc. and it's already beginning to really grate on my nerves. iPhoto struggles with it and losing it's library similar to how iTunes does, as do Aperture and others.
So I'm more actively looking for a solution and help. I was hoping maybe someone could think of something along the lines of Terminal, Applescript or Automator? Something that could check and maintain the connection? Or something that while those apps are open would sense when those preferences are altered due to the server interruption and restore the correct settings?

I have just bought Bose sound link Air speakers, which seem to link fine with an old iPhone and iPad not yet updated to iOS 7 but not with my newer iPhone 5s or my iPad Air, both on iOS7. I can't find anything in settings to turn on or off. Any advice?

1. Turn off router, speaker and iPad
2. Turn on router and wait 30 seconds
3. Turn on Bose speaker and wait 30 seconds
4. Turn on iPad and test speakers
Note: You need to swipe up from bottom of screen to activate Control Center; the AirPlay icon should be in there.

MacBook air and projector connection.

Hi everybody
I am having some issues with the new Macbook air (mid-2011) and connecting a data projector. I got the adapter to VGA and everything seems to work fine most of the times when booting MacOS Lion. However, sometimes the Macbook would not recognize the beamer resolution and switch to 648x480. This can then be adjusted manually and works.
Booting into Windows 7 (Bootcamp installation) gives different issues. 2 out of 3 projectors tested refused to recognize the signal from the Macbook. The third did everything automatically with the correct resolution. Putting the baby to sleep and waking up did not help. Connecting the adapter before/after beamer was ready did not help. Manually setting resolution as well as using Win plus P shortcut did not help. The graphics card driver seems to be the newest available.
Any ideas what I could try?

I have put some of my problems up there as well. For me nothing worked. Nobody in two Apple stores could help. VGA adapter did not work at all, regardless of the order of connecting cable and adapter. Tried two more adapters and two more cables. Mini-Displayport to DVI -Adapter did also not work. Everything works well under MacOS. Must indeed be something with the Thunderbolt/Mini-Displayport combination port and the Windows driver.
Any idea how to report this to Apple?

I cannot get my Iphone 5S to connect to my Bose Soundlink III, the blue light will not turn white.

I have a Bose Soundlink III and have had no problems connecting to my Iphone until the past three or four days. It will not connect and the blue Bluetooth button will not turn white. I have done everything it says to do in troubleshooting the Soundlink and it does exactly what it is suppose to do, except light changing and connecting. My phone shows Bose SLIII and it says it is discoverable. If I touch the the Bose SLIII area it keeps saying Connection Unavailable and to check that it is turned on and in range. Any suggestions??

Or just try off>>on with Bluetooth on iPhone works for me when my Bose "play up"

Bose soundlink- airplay

Hi there I recently got bose soundlink speakers which airplay works perfectly well with you tube on iphone5- the icon appears. However it does not on my mac. I managed to change to airplay with preferences but the icon does not appear with macbook on youtube or anywhere.
Does anyone know why or how to change it? I have synced it again to speakers and same thing!

Try this:
1. Turn off router, AirPlay Speaker and iPad
2. Turn on router and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
3. Turn on AirPlay Speaker and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
4. Turn on iPad and test AirPlay Speaker

My itune music videos will not play through my soundlink air

Why do my itune music videos not play through my Bose Soundlink Air? My downloaded music plays fine. Also my music videos play through my iTouch its just through my Mac computer they won't.

I have had a almost identical problem but with windows 8 and with the internal speakers because i am using a laptop
