Please help, I have a Boston Acoustic Digital Speakers and an IBM T43P notebook computer that i just purchased a Sound blaster Audigy 2 Zs pcimia card for. the problem is that when i connect the digital speakers i get no sound. I tried looking for the digital output option but cant find one on my computer

No, their external card don't have those digital out jack. You have to go for their pci sound card if not guess it's time you change those speaker.

iTunes doesn't allow a credit card that was issued by a bank in another country (possibly because it's a way of confirming that you are able to buy from a country's store) - you will only be able to use a credit card issued by a New Zealand bank. Or you could use iTunes gift cards as your payment method, as far as I can see they are available in New Zealand.

Here is my situation, iPad 1 Time Warner app works fine with or without headphones, ipad2 I can unplug headphones and it works but when headphones are plugged in I can barely hear it even cranked up, my husbands ipad2 works fine with both so what that tells me is that there is something physically possibly programmed differently. It really makes no sense. I might just take my ipad2 back and swap it out. It is weird all the other sound through the iPad comes through on headphones and speakers fine. Also, can be Audigy 2 NX external sound card be stand alone instead of always being connected to the PC? I just want it to be connected to XBOX to decode dolby digital 5...

it is relevant for me to post in here as someone was asking if the aud 2 zs plat dri'ves optical in or coaxial in could be used for connecting up to an external source sch as dvd player, xbox.
And i am in technical supports hand about my prouducts, so if yo u ban me i will be insisting they take action against you , as i have a valid reason for posting into these forums.
I have spent over ?3,000 on creative proucts, and the last 2 things i purchased from, creative cost ?450 the gigaworks s 750 speakers, and the audigy 2 zs platinum.
And therefore i am entitled to speak the truth.
Some one asked if the connection is possible, i am not the only person using the hardware that is having decoding lag whilst using optical in on li've dri've, it's just that not many people that have this hardware are using it like this, so they don't realise that they will have problems if they ever decide to use external dvd players, instead of the software ones like powerdvd windvd etc.
I am forwarding this entire thread to creative technical support guy that i am dealing with so he can see i am not doing anything wrong, you need to look at my other post with regards to the audigy 2 li've dri've having the exact pcb model number revisions etc, as the audigy2 zs platinum li've dri've, and that the combination of the audigy 2 li've dri've not being a connection that creative will offer support for, which is another thing i will be asking creative when i phone tech support up tomorrow, as i want to speak to someone higher up about this.
And you say you are testing this at home and cannot replicate this issue.
Can i ask what speakers you are using.
What soundcard are you using, are you using the aud 2zs plat version not the plat pro version.
Also what make of dvd player are you using to play dvds on, what spdif option your using in external dvd player ?
And what are the model numbers on your audigy 2 zs platinum li've dri've motherboard ?
Also what driver version are you using for the zs plat card ?
As i have used the supplied disc version, and updated to latest versions makes no difference.

Hi, I?m thinking of upgrading my audigy2zs to an X-Fi. But I wanted to use the dri've bay thing that I bought for the audigy2. I use it to plug my Logitech z680 speakers with an optical cable for dolby digital. So, do you know if this two things are compatible? Thx, and cheers!

2 of 4 speakers and Subwoofer not working for Altec Lansing Lucasfilms THX Surround (circa 2003)

I am attempting to connect my Altec Lansing Lucasfilm THX 5.1 sound system to my HP ENVY All-in-one. I think the original audio card for the sound system came on a Dell with Soundblaster.
I have connected the green audio to the jack in the back which only gets 2 of the 4 speakers working (even after configuring the speakers). The subwoofer is connected to the sub jack in the back panel as well and is not working at all. I realize that I am trying to have an ancient sound system work with my fancy new HP Envy. Am I asking too much?? I thought maybe a driver update might be needed. But in theory, if those jacks are available in the back it should work (she says optimistically).
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have the speakers connected correctly. If there is only one connector for all of the speakers, it may be that you will only be able to use two of them. However, I am not certain why the subwoofer isn't working. Is it selected in the Control Panel / Sound? I realize that you said the speakers are configured in the Control Panel, but is the subwoofer separate?
I have an old (2001) Polk Audio set of speakers. I have only been able to get two of them and the subwoofer to work with my new HP computer. It sounds fine without the other two speakers.

I have a DVD-Rom and DVD-Video card for Powerbook and need advice

I acquired 2 accessory components for a G3 series powerbook. I have a dual G4 so have no use for them. There is a M4743 DVD-Rom for Powerbook and a DVD-Video PC card for G3 series Powerbook family M5163. There is also a software CD. I would like to sell them but I really don’t how to explain what this stuff does. I tried Ebay and did not find any matches. Does this make a DVD upgrade for a particular Powerbook? Is something else required? Is Ebay the best place to sell? Any idea what this stuff is worth? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

You apparently have the DVD Video Player Kit for the Powerbook G3 Series "Wallstreet" M4753.

The above DVD PC card is not Apple's but there were two third-party vendors who also offered a DVD kit...VST and MCE. They all served the same purpose and will all be priced similarly.
Both PC card and optical drive are required to play DVD movies on the Wallstreet, plus Apple DVD Player is only supported when booted to 9.x, not 10.x.
I really cannot give you a fair price to ask; the above hardware prices are probably high but you will get an idea.

If the PCMCIA type in your laptop is type of ExpresCard then there are no PCMCIA solutions available yet. Also there are not many PCMCIA solutions available at all. If plain analog stereo output is enough for you then I suggest you to look these:
- E-MU 02, ECHO Indigo DJ and IO. These are all under $US200.
As USB, from Creative, the E-MU 0202 USB and 0404 USB are superior devices compared to other Creatives (SoundBlaster) USB models . There also are plenty of USB devices available under many brands. Just check this theread to see some of those.
FireWire devices are a bit more expensi've but if you plan to invest lets say $US300 - $US500 then ... Those low budged ($US00) FireWire devices are not very high quality by the converrters.

I'm using my Audigy 2 ZS with my old Cambridge SoundWorks 2.s (the speakers that were replaced by Inspire 5300s before their remote went south) without a hitch (in Vista Ultimate no less).

I was wondering what pci slot you have your sound card in as mine is in the orange slot and have noticed pauses in games for no reason. The on board ethernet is sharing the same irq as the gfx card within windows and was wondering if i moved the sound card to another slot it may free up an irq for the ethernet. Or am i wrong, does it share with the agp anyway?

Even though mine is Neo Vanilla, the IRQ landscape shouldn't be that much different. With the nForce chipset, slot 3 has always been the sweetspot.
Just putting it in any slot is asking for trouble. What you need to be looking at is IRQ allocation in either the Device Manager, or System Info.
That will give you a good idea what is going on.

If you have anything sharing then you have a "Less than Optimal" configuration. If you haven't had problems, great! Creatives drivers have actually improved, as has the hardware these days in being more tolerant of the many configurations that can take place, but you are asking for problems or selling your system short as far as optimal performance goes if you have a sharing situation.

Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS for Notebooks - Headphones and Speakers wont play at the same ti

Prior to restoring my compter I could play audio through the headphone port and the suround port connected to my speakers. Now after restoring my computer and reloading the software and drivers my suround sound mutes when i plug a line in to the headphone port. The reason I do this is because i have have a really nice old stero that has a better bass than my 4. computer speakers. How can I get audio to play through both outputs?

More than possible. Start with plugging the headphones into the front out jack and the speakers in the rear out. Then it is just a matter of changing the speaker settings and a change in CMSS. When using the headphones set it to headphones, and when you want to use the speakers set it to 4., and in the CMSS settings adjust the fron/rear balance to all rear.

Anyone with 5.1 speakers and audigy 2.......might have this bug too.......

When you turn on your cmss2 not cmss AND you have eax ON do you get sound from your center speaker?
cmss2 + eax = center speaker off..................is it supposed to be off?
cmss + eax= center speaker on

Center channel works fine for me in all modes.
I turned on WMP 0 with a few mp3's. CMSS, CMSS + EAX Effect, CMSS2, CMSS2 + Effect. I went through several effects w/ CMSS & 2.
I did notice a couple things that could be affecting you though. I have the CMSS "Fader" for lack of a better term.. it moves the stereo focus from front speakers to back speakers.. set to 0%, which is balanced between front and back. Also, in the EAX Effect pane there this the effect amount. When I played w/ these two sliders and different effects, I noticed the center speaker did get very faint at times. Sometimes all that could be heard was reverb or echo.
Maybe it's the unique combination of CMSS setting and effect amount, plus the type of center speaker you have just not getting enough power?

I have tried to reinstall, after uninstalling. Only the 2 front speakers work. They all used to function. Have any suggestions? The troubleshooter faq did not help, and did not see any related posts.
