Both of my daughters itouches all of sudden won't send Imessage or facetime?

Their accounts are under my Apple ID but my ID is able to send imessages and facetime.  I've done all the usual...hard, soft reset.  Updated to 6.1...nothing.  Thoughts?

  • Facetime all the sudden won't work to call facetime to Vietnam

Just this week my facetime calls won't reach vietnam, I changed nothing. I tried on my ipad, macbook air and 2 iphone 5's. It rings and when the other side trys to pick up it just keeps connecting and it times out or when it gets picked up it says facetime failed.

TThere is an issue with facetime at the moment I guess Apple is working on it.  Be patient

  • My macbook pro suddenly won't send emails.

They sit in my outbox. Please can you help.
This suddenly happened this morning when I tried to send a video.  I cancelled that message bit it froze the whole thing although one message seems to have got through.

If I'm not mistaken, this drive is bus-powered. MBPs seem to have frequent problems with bus-powered drives, probably because they don't provide enough power on the USB bus.
In disk utility though it says it is a 2.2TB hard drive
It is possible that the drive or USB interface are damaged. However, it is too early to decide. You need to connect the drive to a desktop machine (Mac or PC), or provide more power to the drive (with a power supply, if the drive accepts it, or a USB Y-cable and a USB power supply, rated 1A or more).

  • Outgoing mail suddenly won't send

For years I've had a POP account, using Mac Mail to send and rec ATT/Yahoo mail. In the past week or so, my account has decided it won't send anything and says the server can't be accessed. However, incoming mail works fine, and my wife's POP account on another log-in with ATT/Yahoo mail also works fine sending and receiving. I tried deleting my account and starting over, which allowed me to send one email successfully. Next time I logged in, though, it was back to balking. Any ideas?

Hey, I found a fix for Mac who use ATT / UVerse / Yahoo!!
The directions that are given by ATT are only good for setting up an ATT e-mail account on a Mac. If for some reason you need to use another provider (gasp!) their settings will NOT work. The workaround is to have an agent open up port 25 so that you can use another outgoing smtp server. In my case, my provider is fatcow.com (really!). So once port 25 was opened up I could add smtp.fatcow.com as an outgoing mail server. In that case, they do require password authentication. Your case may be simpler and you may not need authentication at all (Inisight, WOW, RoadRunner etc.)
So it is possble, despite the dearth of information on ATT's UVerse web site. : P
    Cheers,
    : )

  • Iphone 4s 16G all of a sudden won't do imessaging

last week saturday, i noticed my iphone will not send or recieve imessages.  at first, i could do regular texting.  then, i could only send, but not recieve texting.  I restarted numerous times and still could only send.  today, i did a full restore to factory settings, restored my back up and now i can send AND recieve regular texting but still no imessages.  I have piddled around in settings, turning imessaging on and off, entering my id and password as promted with constant error messages that i have a network issue.  my wi fi is working fine as i am online right now, obviously.  even so, i reset my network settings to factory then reconnected to my wi fi.  still no difference. i deleted my number out of settings and re entered it. nothing. turned off my phone for a minute then turned it back on. nothing. piddled around with settings again. nothing. i am extremely frustrated and don't know what else to do.  I have followed all the troubleshooting here in the apple website for the imessaging and nothing works.  PLEASE! has anyone else had this issue and successfully resolved it?

okay people! i FINALLY got his figured out thanks to an answer on another post.  go into settings and turn off your wi fi and let it connect to your 3G/4G network.  restart your phone.  when it comes back on, go into settings/messaging/send and recieve and you should see your number there.  finally, test your texting with someone.  it fixed mine right up.  then reconnect to wi fi and you should be good to go!

  • IPad suddenly won't send mail

My iPad has suddenly stopped sending emails after sending them with no problem for 6 months. I've tried re-entering my smtp address, but all that seems to do is cause the settings screen to freeze so that I have to re-start the iPad. Any ideas? My outgoing email server is smtp.orangehome.co.uk

make sure if over wifi the wifi router don't block the ports required by the smtp
if over 3g contact the carrier
test if it's the case for both devices
verify not just the stmp server is correct also encryption, ssl authentication and ports and all other stmp settings are as the mail provides guide they could have changed it

  • LG G3 suddenly won't send/receive messages?

I had just received this phone today via delivery (brand new through Amazon). For the first few minutes it was great - easy set up, able to send a few messages to my family about the new phone when suddenly (having literally only sent three messages prior) it stopped sending/receiving altogether. Messages sent will stay in a sending loop seemingly forever before saying it's failed. I've done every type of reset known (soft, factory, even opening up in safe mode) to no avail. I haven't downloaded any apps yet, so I know that's not the case...
Any ideas on what I can do?
(I'm also using the typical messenger app, not hangouts or messenger+. I did switch between the three to see if that would help at all, but I still ended up with nothing.)

Wow - shortly after posting this I received a message (strange considering the fact that I really COULDN'T) from Verizon stating that this number does not have permission to send messages. Please consult the account manager to make changes (or something along those lines (which makes it even more bizarre considering I am the account manager...)). After prodding my Verizon account for a bit, I clicked on 'change features' option and after checking and unchecking certain items I somehow managed to get it all to work.
Welp, that would explain why that endless torment of resets hadn't worked then I suppose.

  • E-mail suddenly won't send.  I've been using this account on this iMac for years.

When I try to send, I get an error message that it can't send mail on this server.  I've checked all my settings and rebuilt the mailbox.  The settings are the same as on my iPhone, and the phone has no problem sending.  I can also send using my account directly on the ISP web site, so my mail account is working and the passwords are correct. When I use the Connection Doctor, it says it has no problem making connections (all green lights.)  Any ideas?

YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!  I reinstalled the program and everything. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! MY HERO!!!

  • Why is it that each time I upgrade my iPad, half of my apps won't work properly but worst of all my email won't send after the latest "patch" today, wake up Apple I am a new user and getting sick of this problems

WHy is it that each time I get an upgrade some of my Apps won't work when they did with the previous version. I have just upgraded to v7.01 and now I cannot send email, wake up Apple and get it right as I am a new user of Apple technology and not impressed.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

  • HP Officejet model 6110 all-in-one won't send out fax

I have the subject machine.  I have not used it for a year.  Ir recently started using it again.  The printer and scan works OK.  The Fax machine seems to ring on incoming phone calls (I can hear it on the machine).  The outgoing fax dials the number for a fax machine OK ( I can hear it).  But it does not connect.  That is, when I start the fax, I do not hear a dial tone, but it dials out OK.  I tried to follow the troubleshooting on your site, but nothing fixed it.  Any ideas on what to do?  Thanks

  • My iPhone isnt working with messages. The messages tend to get backed up and I receive them all later... The phone won't send iMessage during this time period... What do I do?

The messages in the phone don't load until hours after they're received and seem to get overloaded very easily

What would you do for transportation if you drove your car into a tree and had to wait while it was fixed? You'd need to rent, borrow or buy another car, no? The same applies to your phone. This is not Apple's problem; if the service center does not have replacements in stock for immediate swap-out, then it's up to you to provide a backup device or do without.
If you're in a country where Apple provides direct service for iPhones, you may be able to call Apple support and arrange for advance replacement, where they send you the replacement phone and then you send back the old one. Apple offers such service in several countries, though you have to pay an extra fee for the service. If not, then you'll just have to wait for the service center to get in the replacement, and will have to arrange an alternative to use during that time.
    Regars.

  • Can't send iMessages to contacts containing both an e-mail and a phone number. The phone wants to send SMS by default (iMessage is turned on)

    iPhone 3GS
    model: MC637C
    iOS version: 5.1 (9B176)
This issue started with the last iOS update and has affected not only my phone, but my wife's and father in law's as well (we all have the exact same model)
When I attempt to send a text message to my wife, my phone suddenly won't send imessages anymore. Only text. I have tried rebooting my phone, and my wife's phone. We have even tried wiping our phones and restoring them from backups. The problem still persists, wether we are at home connected to wifi or out of the house on 3G.
The only way I have managed to send my wife an imessage was by creating a new contact with ONLY her e-mail address. That only worked once. since then, its trying to send everything as SMS again.
This is unacceptable as we live in an area with very poor celular coverage and rely heavily on wifi connections, therefore we won't receive an SMS until our phones get access to the celular network. All other apps and phone functions are working correctly across all 3 phones mentioned.
On both my phone, and my wife's, I have double checked to ensure that iMessage is still turned on. I suspect that this is a global software issue seeing as it only started once we updated our phones to the latest iOS. My question is this:
    Are we doing something wrong?
Prior to the update, we were all able to send iMessages to eachother, regardless of where we were. The only time we'd have an issue is if someone's phone was turned off or not connected to either the celular 3G network or a wifi with internet access (which is natural).

You may want to turn iMessage off, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on on each of these phones (to re-register the phone numbers with the iMessage server).  Also confirm that you have the correct date, time and time zone on each of the phones (in case a recent change to DST resulted in incorrect setttings on your phones).  There are more troubleshooting steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755.

  • I just got a new itouch and i can't get imessage or facetime to work on my home network

I just got a new itouch 4 and i can't get imessage and facetime to work on my home wifi network (Airport Express). I can't explain it. The itouch works fine otherwise uncluding the internet. Facetime and imessage work at the apple store so there must be something wrong with my home network. Please help if you can!
    iPod touch, iOS 5.0.1

I changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 as you suggested with no success, I even tried 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 as suggested by others with no success either.  When I try and activate iMessage or Facetime, I still get the same message "could not sign in, please check your network connection".  The internet and Mail work perfectly fine on the iPod touch so the WiFi signal IS going through.  I am at a loss, any other suggestions would be more than welcome. Thanks!

Does the app now use iCloud, do you use iCloud and do the two of you use the same account on iCloud?
    Just a guess.

  • My daughters itouch was stolen today...is there any actions i can or should be taking so that all the pictures and videos she has taken can be deleted?

My daughters itouch was stolen today...is there any actions i can or should be taking so that all the pictures and videos she has taken can be deleted?

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.
