Both Terminator and Konsole fail

Question

xterm, however, works fine.
When I open either Terminator or Konsole, I get (where the prompt should be):
Unable to start shell:/bin/zsh
Additionally, when I start Konsole from xterm, on xterm, I see
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
konsole(8596)/kdecore (KPty/K3Process) KPty::open: Can't open a pseudo teletype
konsole(8596) Konsole::Pty::flowControlEnabled: Unable to get flow control status, terminal not connected.
Then, when I close either Terminator or Konsole after this message, my whole X session crashes.
My DE is lxde.
My display manager is xdm-archlinux.

I use zsh on xterm without any problem. I use it for almost everything as a user, but for root I use bash (for fear of messing up basic configs in the system).
$ file /bin/zsh

I have several other Arch boxen whose output after $ mount |grep pts is exactly the same as yours and have no problem whatsoever.
So, that may be where the problem is!!
So this computer is not mounting /dev/pts right?
