Bottom Left Corner of Finder

Hi peoples,
This is probably a stupid question, but what is the icon in the bottom left hand corner of Finder? It's only there in certain windows, like Documents and Pictures. It looks like four diamonds/parallelograms in a grid. Here's a screenshot--
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e135/aqua-star/Picture1-1.png
Edit: Weirdness...I just had to restart Finder because I accidentally made it lock up (how I'm not sure) and now the icon's not there. ???

If you go to the Finder's View menu, and select Show View Options, you'll see that you have one of the "Keep Arranged By" options set. Uncheck it and the wee little arranged boxes in the corner disappear.

  • I can't find add button at bottom left corner to create playlist

I can't find the add button that is supposed to be in bottom left corner in the new version of itunes so I can create a playlist

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker

  • Now that the "Status Bar" is gone, is there a way to hide the "status notification" (bottom left corner) when a page loads? This is on Windows & FF5/6

The so called "Status Bar" has apparently gone away since FF4, I'm now onto 6 I think, on my work machine. But one of the things I liked about the Status Bar was that it could be hidden entirely.
With no Status Bar, now when a page is loaded in FF, you get a floating "Status Notification" in the bottom left corner for a second or two while the page is loading (this even happens in FullScreen F11, something I never had to deal with when the Status Bar existed).
What I want to know is, is there a way to turn off this "Status Notification" entirely? A setting somewhere? Something in About:config? I haven't been able to find anything.

    1. Install the addon Status 4 evar, which puts the status text back in the status bar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
    2. Hide the status bar by right clicking the refresh button and unchecking "Addon bar"

  • N8 bottom left corner gradually detaching

I think I noticed someone esle with this problem but couldn't seem to find their thread.
I've noticed that gradually over the last few months that the bottom left corner of my N8 is starting to detach from the main body.
I.E - the plastic planel where the home button is located has a join to the left side panel of the device about 1cm up the side of it. With me so far? There is a seam and a very small screw just above it. This appears to have become detached and increasingly the bottom panel is 'hanging' somewhat. It seems to be getting worse as recently I noticed the light from the home button is illuminating through the gap.
Spoken to Nokia and now there is no care point anywhere near where I live, so I'd have to send it to them to be 'assessed'. My concern with that, like how I recall the previous poster experienced, is they'll just say I dropped it or something and want to charge me £££, all the while I have no phone for weeks on end.
    Any ideas how to proceed?

  • I have the computer on but it froze and in the bottom left corner is a circle type thing. Help

My computer is on, but is not moving from the beginning stage.  The bottom left corner has a square with a circle in it and a dotted logo in it.  How do I get it to unfreeze?  Thanks

Hello apottesmen: Do a hard start up. Just unplug the computer. Ounce it is off plug it back in and turn it back on. Computer will start up in safe mode option. Move arrow key to safe mode press enter. Run your anti virus scan while that is running go into c drive and find and remove(delete) any files that were installed with todays date. Usaully I found that a bad malware causes this issue. If you do not want to go through all your files then do a back date recovery to an earler time using recovery manager. After your scan has completed. You should be alright.

  • When i select a pdf file for download in a webpage instead of automatically downloading the file and opening it using adobe acrobat I get a new blank window in the browser and it says done in the bottom left corner

when I select a pdf file within a webpage and click to download instead of getting the "download" window and the file automatically opening after download using adobe reader I get a blank webpage (in the same tab) and in the bottom left corner it says"done". No file is downloaded and if I click "back" I just return to the webpage containing the link.

Aha!  The properties for the plugin file nppdf32.dll for Adobe Reader indicate the file is for Adobe Acrobat.  This misidentification is then used by SeaMonkey as a label in the helper application list.
Adobe Reader 11.0.3.37:  nppdf32.dll has version 11.0.3.37.  This is the version in SeaMonkey's plugins folder.
    Adobe Acrobat 7.0.8.218:  nppdf32.dll has version 7.0.9.50.
As for having both Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat on the same PC, this generally works providing Reader is installed AFTER Acrobat.  Reader is freeware, and I want to keep it current.  Acrobat is purchaseware, and I cannot afford to keep buying  upgrades or newer versions.

  • I am trying to click on a 'zoom' button to enlarge a table or photo but nothing happens other than "javascript:void(null)" appearing in bottom left corner of Firefox window. How can I correct this?

There are a few tables and photos on the left that I need to zoom into but nothing happens. All I get is the text "javascript:void(null)" in the bottom left corner of my Firefox window.

  • I want to know how to get the web addresses to go away that appear in the bottom left corner of the browser every time my mouse goes over a link

Any time that my mouse goes over a link on a web page a little box in the bottom left corner of the browser pops up showing the web address for that link and it is really annoying, especially when i am on facebook because there are so many links on the home page i cant move my mouse anywhere without that box popping up and blocking part of my conversations. I was wondering if there was any way to turn this off. I've checked through the options and to my knowledge there is no way to turn it off. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem or knew if there was a way to get that box to go away.

Another option would be to use the following extension to push those messages into the status bar. It could be a convenient way to have your messages visible when you want them, but with less distraction.

  • Photo showing in bottom left corner of Camera but nowhere to be found on phone

I took a picture on my iPhone 5S (upgraded to iOS 8) and it is nowhere to be found on my phone. I took it with the front facing camera and I used the + button to take the photo. It showed the 1 counter on the screen as if I were taking a boost picture (i must have held the button down a second longer than normal) and then it went back to the camera screen like normal. I went to touch the bottom left corner of the screen where it always shows a preview of your last added photo but the photo was nowhere to be found. I tried restarting my phone, but it still was nowhere to be found except in the lower left corner as a preview to my camera roll. I tried "retracing my steps" and sometimes the same thing happened and sometimes it didn't. I opened up Image Capture on my computer and the photos are all there, but I'm wondering if there is a way to stop this from happening on my phone? Or if anyone knows where they are hiding in my phone?

    Hello,
When I went hover a link I used to see the url showed on the bottom left corner, but it has been a while that it is not happening anymore.
Is it a bug or that feature was removed?
If it is a bug, how can I fix it?

Maybe Status-4-Evar isn't working properly or you have changed its settings.

  • Since the latest Firefox update, the Personas icon (brown fox) that appeared in the bottom left corner, has disappeared. Where did it go and how do I get it back?

I have a Personas account. The brown fox icon was present in the bottom left corner of my screen before the latest version of Firefox downloaded, but is not there anymore. I have to go to the Personas web site now whenever I want to manage my Persona. Previously, all I had to do was click on the brown fox, and do what I wanted to do from there.
Why has this changed, and how to I put it back to the way it was before?

    Try this:

You may need to manually add the icon to your toolbar.
