Bottom of screen (1/2 inch from bottom) is not responsive.
Hello, I have an unlocked Iphone with a screen that is partially non-responsive. The bottom of my screen, the area about 1/2 an inch above the bottom of the screen, is not responding. That area houses my phone, mail, messages, and ipod icons which I am unable to access. At times when I press one of those icons i am navigated to the next page of my apps and then nothing. I purchased the phone on craigslist second hand because I wanted to try it out before I commit to a two-year contract and a hefty price. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If you bought the phone off Craigslist, it's highly unlikely the phone was actually unlocked. It was probably jailbroken, which voids all Apple warranty if you send it in for repairs while still in this jailbroken state. So, if that's the case, restore as new and this should remove the jailbreak.
I've not personally had a jailbroken phone exhibit these symptoms, generally it's an overall "bricking" of the phone. More likely the bottom of the screen has a hardware issue which will need to be resolved by Apple.
Certain serial numbers are known to have this issue, so I'd call to see if yours falls in that group. The first level rep might not know this (since it is an old issue) so if they tell you right away it's out of warranty, etc, I'd press for a higher level tech who will have information regarding this problem.

iPad is not responding. It ONLY shows an iTunes icon and a USB cable in the middle of an all black screen. Thanks, King_Penguin. Yes, I tryied putting the iPad into recovery mode. It freezes in the black screen with the iTunes and USB cable. When I followed the instructions and then started iTunes, I received the following message: "A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes (-424040)".
I have unistalled iTunes three times already and donloaded and installed three new versions. No luck.

I have a late 2006 iMac that has just started giving me a message to reboot after a black screen comes down slowly from the top top of the screen to the bottom. I reloaded software and restored from Time Machine, but it keeps happening, now several tomes a day. Any insight as to the issue or a proposed solution?
Unplug any peripherals you have except your keyboard, reboot, and check activity monitor for apps. Keep running apps to a minimum to find the App causing the issue.

When I'm playing music from my laptop on my Apple TV2, I'd like to shrink the album on the screen so it's in the bottom corner, not filling the screen.
I don't believe that's possible. It will either fill the screen, or will show a thumbnail when the screensaver is on (disappearing after a few seconds)

When I swipe up from the bottom of the screen to use control center I am not able to use the music controls for music or podcasts and music controls do not work on the lock screen either is anybody else having this problem???????
Not really sur easy you would be having that problem. Mine works. You might try RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost). Then try again and see if it makes a difference -

IMac screen looks yellow/orange from 45 degree angle
Hi, yesterday I bought a 20" iMac 2.4 Ghz and the screen looks yellow/orange from a 45 degree viewing angle (as if looking through yellow glasses). I don't remember seeing this in the shop and am heading down this morning to check it out. Are other people seeing this too?

The 24" won't have the Yellow Tint that the 20" has, because the LCD panel used is a far superior panel to that in the 20".
However, what the 24" does appear to have though, is a left to right gradient issue, where the left hand side is really bright and the middle and right hand side of the screen tends to be darker, giving a white or light grey background a sort of Yellow tint to the screen. This is seen from sitting straight on and just turning the brightness down.
Most people say they can't see it, but so far, I have seen around 20 24" iMacs that all have this fault from various locations.
It's a shame really, because I really want to buy a new 24" iMac, but not with this faulty screen.
As for the 20", from the screens I have seen so far, they also have a fault, where the bottom of the panel tends to wash out the bright colours, such as can be seen on the docking bar. Just check these forums and you'll pick up the stories. -
My iPad keybsoard now opens in the middle of my screen. Is this from an update? Can it be turned off? I'm not crazy about it. Thanks!
Press and hold the 'keyboard' button at the bottom right of the keyboard and after a second or two a popup should appear - tap 'Dock' on that and it should move back to the bottom

You just go from a start point to an end point. Those points and the squares in between are determined by simple arithmetic.
If you're doing it randomly, I wouldn't use the GUI elements themselves. I'd have, for example, and array of booleans that tells whether each square has been filled in. -

Need to know what to do with new phone and no screen and no support from Telus Store
Purchased a brand new BB Curve 8530, and resigned another three year plan at Telus. Within 20 days, the screen went black and would not light up. I had used the phone in the morning to send a textmail, then set it on the charger. Later in the day, I picked up my phone off the counter, and the screen had gone black. I could not get it back.
I took the phone back to the Telus Store where I had purchased it, and the man who sold it to me, said it is under warranty, and he checked for moisture and any visible damages or scratches, and did not see anything wrong with it. He called to the main store to indicate that he was exchanging my phone straight accross, but the acting manager told him he could not do that. She said he must take the phone and 150.00 from me to send it in for repair and inspection.
I was told that if they decided I had done some damage, then the repair fee would be 500.00. (I am sure they would decide the latter, and I am not prepared to spend another 500.00 on a brand new phone!!!)
I called everyone I could at Telus to complain, but mostly talked to people in India and they said to contact Customer Care. This had been done, and no satisfaction received.
I tried to contact Blackberry, but no call number found, and only an online forum. No satisfaction there either.
I emailed CRTC, and have told everybody I know, about Telus, and we are all planning to get away from this company without care or concerns.
I want to get out of my three year plan with Telus, and I want my money back for this brand new blackberry phone that is sitting on my vanity. ....grrrr!
Most of my friends are moving to Bell, who incidently told me they would have done a straight out exchange for me...after I showed them the undamaged faulty Blackberry phone, and told them of my very bad experience with the Telus Store.
Any suggestions as to find any satisfaction in this scenario? I am currently using an old LG phone that was discarded by my daughter, and it is not a Blackberry, but it works, and the screen always lights up on it.Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done here. But as a fellow Telus customer, this is bizarre behaviour, and unfortunately, you're not the first to come on here to complain about Telus' service recently. I wonder if there have been any major corporate shake ups recently.
As a heads up, when you call the Telus Mobility line, you actually should be getting someone in Canada. They may be in Quebec, or they may be of South Asian decent working in a Canadian call centre, but they are supposed to be in Canada (some call centre activities have been outsourced to the Phillipines for internet and phone troubleshooting though).
I would like you to go back to the original store and ask to speak to the manager and demand to know why you were charged for a warranty repair. There may be a legitimate reason, but I certainly don't know it and it's not normal practice for Telus and BlackBerry devices, unless they've come up with a new corporate policy. Personally, I'd love to know what that reason is. But it should be as simple as confirming the defect and issuing a replacement refurbished device if an easy repair is not possible. You might also want to check the terms and conditions of the sale.
When I purchased my device, I purchased an extended warranty which guarantees that if something goes wrong with it, I get a new refurbished phone with no problem, but I'll admit, I no longer know what the case is for devices without an extended warranty.
