Bottom plate of Retina MacBook's unibody does not fit perfectly
Hi there,
today I noticed that the bottom plate of my rMBP's unibody doesn't fit perfectly. Now I wonder if this is a reason to take the MacBook back to Apple. I took a photo to show you what I mean. Is anyone here seeing that at his/her rMBP, too?

This kind of damage isn't common. But on forums like this, there have been several instances of dented MBP cases.
Of course, there's no way to be sure how the damaged happened, but judging from the aluminum exterior, it was dropped on the lower edge.
Getting an exterior case sounds like a way to stop damage from getting worse. If you can easily push the edge so it's completely closed, then the foam case should accomodate your MBP, and stymie further damage. Repair is likely to be pricey; very pricey.

The iPhone 3G S does not fit perfect into the iPhone 3G dock does it?
Anyone else having this issue? I mean, it sits in there, but going in and coming out of the dock doesn't feel as smooth as it did with the iPhone 3G, yet Apple says the dock works with both.
I know what you are saying, which has nothing to do with the dock being compatible or if it works with both.
Does your dock work with your 3GS?
If so, then it works with the 3G and with the 3GS as Apple says it does.
I don't use a dock. I never used the dock included with my first generation iPhone, and I didn't purchase a dock for my 3G. -
I have a Serial Number which worked fine on my MacBook Pro but does not work on my desktop PC (Win 7). What is the problem?
You haven't identified the version so I can't tell if offering you contact options for Adobe Support will be of use to you. But they will likely be your only hope of getting resolution unless you just happen to be using the wrong number as the serial number.

I Wish to connect my 6 year old Apple 20" Cinema Display to an orignal MacBook Air which does not have a Fire-Wire port. Is this possible? Any advice would be appreciated. I have the Micro-DVI to DVI adapter. Norm
The FireWire cable is just for the FireWire ports on the display. The display will run without it.

I have a Macbook, 13" screen, purchased in 2007. I want to hook it up to my HDTV; I purchased a mini display port to hdmi adapter but it does not fit. Any suggestions?
If you connect yourMacBook using a MiniDVI/HDMI adapter you will need to use external speakers for audio since the pre-2010 MacBooks will only send video through the MiniDVI or MiniDisplay Port . The MiniDVI/HDMI doesn't carry audio and there's no audio plugs on the TV to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
If your TV has a DVI input plug you can use a MiniDisplayPort/DVI adapter. Then a DVI cable to the DVI input plug on the TV. The TV will have RCA audio plugs for use with the DVI. Plus DVI gives a sharper image than HDMI. -
What are the different ways to back up your photos from iphoto using a MacBook Pro which does not have a disk drive?
Note - that no internet backup service has been proven to be safe and effective for backing up the iPhoto library - unless you personally have backup uyp an iPhoto library and restored it sucussfuly form one it should not be recommended - a large number of people have lost their photos trying it

I Have a Macbook Pro that does not have a disk drive. How do I install the Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 that came with the Epson scanner I purchased. I registered the S/N and I can't find the Free download anywhere only trials.

My computer (MacBook mid-2007) does not recognise the battery suddenly. A cross appears on the image. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it but it didn't help. Is the battery dead?

after hibernation, when trying to login to MacBook Air, it does not accept my password. I have to shut off and then get prompted with the following: Mac OS X wants to use the "login" keychain. I put in the password there and it works. any suggestions?
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access. -
I recently bought a 11" Macbook Air and a 27" Thunderbolt Display.The laptop's power is supposed to come from the display when connected, but the power cable on the display does not fit into the Macbook Air.
If your MBair is a 2012 model, it has a Magsafe 2 power connection. The monitor probably has the old magsafe connection. If this is the case, you need this adapter.

I had purchased and downloaded a tv series to my ipad. Then deleted it due to space constraints. Now I wanted to download it permanently to my MacBook but itunes does not show this purchases. It worked, however, for another series. What can I do?

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. -

Download it again, don't install again and the file (Lion Installer.app) will be in your applications folder.
It is deleted after installation, that's why it can't be found. -
MacBook Pro 2009 does not start
Hi everybody, my Macbook pro 2009 does not start anymore.
I can hear the startsound, the screan lights, thats it.
I tryd PRRAM Reset, Holding down alt key,
changing RAM, nothing works...any ideas?

In my newly purchased MacBook Air, Dropbox does not function properly (it shows MS Word, Excell and Power Point docs but not pictures). It asks for Mac OS Password for my computer which I do not have. How should I get this password ?
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know that account password, the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

So I have a Rocketraid 1820a v1.2 and a 3 x 300GB (old!) harddrive array and want to make a striped raid set to help speed up processing. The disc utility only shows the main harddrive and the raid utility says this computer is not supported? running
