Bought 60GB ipod for kids...how to download dvd..I am lost...what 2 do?

Hello, I just bought a 60gb ipod, I am totally lost as to what I need to do to download dvd movies onto the ipod.
I have worked out I need to convert it, but I am unsure of which is the best software to use...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

If it is still under warranty you can call the 800 number to apple and enter the serial number and it will tell you if it is under warranty or not if not its like $30 basically for them to help or something like that it said today when i called...
Or take it to a genius bar if you have one near?
Or further explain what setting you are needing fixed back and im sure someone here can help you for free!

I just bought a 60GB Ipod and so far iam pretty pleased with my purchase. I had one question though.
Before transferring any songs to the Ipod it is showing only 16.68GB as free space out of a total of 60GB? i have now transferred even a single song? Any ideas how to fix this problem pl?

That certainly shouldn't be happening. Try restoring it using the iPod Software Updater in Programs\iPod\Updater

Copy the DVD to your computer's hard drive. Note that DVDs have special structuring and you'lll have to have software to handle mpeg-2 encoding.

Sync all the devices to the same computer.
If you do not want her apps, then simply do not select them to sync to your device.
Each device will only sync what you select to sync.

Setting up separate accts for kids - how to associate acct with their device?

I've seen many discussions on this topic, but I am still confused. I want to have more structure around how much my kids spend on iTunes - mostly games and apps. I also want them to have more autonomy using their iPod touches. So, I created 2 iTunes accounts for them and set up an allowance for each. I want all three accounts and devices (my iTouch and their two iTouches) to sync to one Library on our one iMac. I've gone into my daughter's device and "connected" it to her new iTunes account - but what is it supposed to look like when I log into the iTunes account? If I log into her iTunes account on the computer - should I see her device associated with that account? Right now I don't. Should I remove it from the list of associated devices on MY account? Can we all still share the music in our ONE library? I don't know what to do next...thanks.

Note:
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Not sure about iPod for kids

Apple has put me in a very bad situation. My kids worked hard and saved up for an iPod, but I am uncomfortable letting them buy a two year old device. I made them wait until the announcement today and.... nothing.
So if there is no iPod 6, how long can the iPod 5 possibly keep up with new versions of iOS? Any advice from anyone?
They're just kids and they can't afford to step up to the iPad mini.
