Bought a BenQ GW2750...

... to use with MacBook Air, getting no signal with DVI or HDMI. Does the BenQ GW2750 not work with Apple products?

Looking here: http://www.macworld.com.au/reviews/benq-gw2750hm-27in-monitor-73617/#.U6Bf4i_ba2 w
I'd assume from that, that the GW2750 does work with a Macbook Air.

  • Macbook 2.2 & BenQ G2400w

I've recently bought two BenQ G2400W (DVI-HDMI 1900 x 1200 )monitors for use with two different Macbooks 2.2 (Santa Rosa chipset & Leopard).
The problem is this; Whilst I can get the monitors to work over the analogue connection it is impossible to get an image via the DVI or HDMI connectors.I have tried to use four different Mini DVI to DVI connectors as well as DVI cables. The Macbooks have no problem working via the DVI with some Formac displays I also have.
Can anyone help? Thanking you in advance for your time.

I have the same issue, "no signal detected" when using dvi or hdmi. The macbook (2,2 SR) detects g2400w properly only when it's connected to the monitor via dvi and the monitor is set to hdmi in, or vice versa. When I change to dvi in, macbook instantly drops the monitor, and "no signal detected" is displayed on the external monitor. No matter what resolution i choose.
I'm pretty sure it's an issue somehow related to EDID-signal sent by the monitor. And what is strange, there's one way I manage to get anything displayed on the monitor: first i shut down the computer, then plug it to the monitor with dvi, set the monitor to hdmi in, start the mac and close instantly the lid, and then change the monitor settings to dvi in. This way i can see the white startup screen with the gray apple displayed in the middle, which, however, disappears just before the logon screen and "no signal detected", again.
The strangest thing about this is that i somehow managed to get it work ONCE, when testing several times different versions of the routine i described above. I could get it working just as it should, log on and tested hd trailers and such but since the next time i turned the monitor off, it has been as dead as before. Any suggestions???

  • BenQ screen flickering dots.

I have bought a benq G2222HDL screen to use as an external monitor with a macbook pro using a DVI-D cable and a mini-port adaptor.  The image appears but with lots of green flickering dots.
Is this screen compatible with a macbook or is there some setting I need to configure?
    Thanks

Any answer yet?  Mine is also early 2011 model.  13 inch. OS X Lion

  • Is benq GL2440 monitor compatible with Mac Mini (early 2011)

    Hey all
Bought a Benq GL2440 monitor to go with my mini (not latest, previous)
but when connected via HDMI nothing but a msg saying 'no cable connected'
Any one got a solution ?

That's correct, the link perfectly describes the Apple 20" Cinema Display I have. With the new Mac Minis requiring an HDMI cable to link to a display, the HDMI to DVI (female) adapter looks like the one I need. I found this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Gino-Black-Female-Converter-Adapter/dp/B006Z8N60C/ref=sr_1 _18?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1371158207&sr=1-18&keywords=hdmi+to+dvi+adapter+ca ble
This adapter is an all-in-one plug with no cable linking the HDMI to the DVI ends. It looks like it might be too wide to plug in anything immediately adjacent to the HDMI socket on the Mac Mini due to the width of the adapter when the adapter is plugged in. However, I could get around this by purchasing an extension cable with HDMI male on one end and the HDMI female on the other if I had to.
However, one of the comments said that the DVI is video-only and that another cable is required for audio. Can I assume that plugging in either or both of the other connections (a USB and a FireWire) coming out of the 20" display will take care of audio?
That leads to another answer, but I'm confident that I'm almost there thanks to your help. Close enough to mark this as "solved". Thank you! Let me know if you have any further thoughts with regard to the audio though.

  • Benq g2222hdl with Mac Pro 1920 x 1080i

Heya, ive recently bought the Benq G2222HDL. I get all the selectable settings including the HD resolution 1920 x 1080 but when i select it, the image is stretched and so does'nt fit the screen entirely. I'm currently using resolution 1680 x 1050 which fits the screen fine.
In the Benq manual it says if it showing stretched then you can select 16 x 9 and it will fit the screen, but because I'm using a mac and not a PC the settings are somewhat different.
How do I rectify this problem?
    Im using a MAC PRO
    ATI Radeon HD 2600
    2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
    Many thanks.

Monitors have a low speed "side channel" over which they can communicate their min and max resolutions to the display card. (That is how Displays preference and Apple System Profiler know the name and capabilities of your display.) That top resolution via VGA is likely a limitation of the monitor.
You may be limited to that resolution unless you hook it up DVI.
The manufacturer should be able to tell you that, or perhaps it is specified in the manual. Their marketing info only seems to tell you top resolution, and avoids breaking it out by interface.

  • Resolution problems when connecting an LCD to macbook

    Hi all,
I've just bought a BenQ 20" wide screen LCD monitor (G2000WAD) to connect to my MacBook 13" (late 2008). I connected it with a VGA cable, converted to mini displayport.
I can't seem to set it to the optimal resolution, which for this screen is 1680x1050. The best resolution that works is 1440x900. If I try to set it to 1680x1050 the screen goes black, re-appears, goes black again, etc. The image in 1440x900 is not very sharp, that's why I'd prefer it to be on 1680x1050. I've also tried a couple of LG monitors, and they had the same problem.
Does anyone know how I can solve this? TIA!
    Cheers,
    Ronald

1680x1050 is sort of a strange resolution for VGA. Doesn't the display have a DVI or HDMI port? If it does have a digital input (DVI or HDMI) then it's possible that the VGA input for the BenQ just doesn't like the 1680x1050 setting (at least at the frequency and setup that is being output by the MacBook's VGA adapter). You need to check the following:
1.) Have you checked to see if Apple's mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter is running the latest firmware (Apple offered an update a few weeks ago)? Furthermore, unless you are actually connected to the VGA adapter when you run Apple's Software Update it won't notify you of the availability of the firmware update. However, note that this firmware update is only for Apple's adapter (I don't believe that it will work with any of the third-party adapters). Also, if you've purchased Apple's adapter fairly recently it may already have the latest firmware (but you'll have to check as I detailed above).
2.) Check the BenQ monitor's user manual to see what VGA resolutions and frequencies it supports.
3.) If none of the above solves your problems then you _may_ want to consider getting a mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter (if your BenQ display accepts DVI or HDMI). If you only have the option of HDMI then you can either purchase a DVI to HDMI adapter to connect to Apple's mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter or you can purchase one of the recently available mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters from a place like monoprice.com (link follows):

  • How do I get full resolution on external monitor with MacBook Pro

    Hi,
I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/sp620?locale=en_QA
And it states I can run an external monitor at 2650x1600. I have bought a BenQ BL2710 which goes to 2650x1440:
    http://www.benq.com/product/monitor/bl2710pt/
I can only get 1080p - the OS (Mavericks) does not have any option to go higher. I have tried connecting MiniDisplayPort to DVI via an adaptor, and I have tried MDP to HDMI using an adapter. Have I missed something?
    Thanks,
    Nick

Figured out I need MPD to DP has HDMI has a max res of 1080p.

  • Problem: Plugging an LED-display into my MBP 15"

    Hello!
I recently bought a BenQ G2222HDL 21.5" LED Monitor and I have encountered some problems when trying to connect it to my MBP via the Mini DisplayPort to DVI-adapter.
My MBP (spring 2010) won't find the display but when I try to connect the display to my brothers MB (spring 2009) it works immediatley and it finds the display in no time.
Is there any differences between the Mini DisplayPort on older an newer models of MB?
Have anyone out there encountered the same problem? Anyone got any suggestion on how i can make it work?
    Thanks!

When I have to re boot to get a screen that I can see, it gives me a error report, but unfortunately I don't have a apple store anywhere close by, otherwise I would just drop off and see how screwed I would be, since I have no apple warranty nor apple care ;-( !

  • Connecting a 144hz monitor to 15'' retina macbook pro?

Hi, I recently bought the benq xl2411z 24'' monitor which has the capacity to run in 140hz as opposed to 60hz. I have been told that you cannot run 144hz in OSX but you can do it in Windows (bootcamp),
Right now the screen is connected via HDMI; however, I have been told that HDMI is incapable of running 140hz and that I need to use DVI.
So basically, I'm wondering what is the best way to connect the external monitor to run 144hz?
    Thanks!
BTW I have a mid 2014 retina macbook pro 15'' with intel iris pro (not discrete graphics).

Thanks for the reply, I eventually figured it out on my own. But for anyone else looking into this, yeah you need a Mini DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI converter (the expensive one, not just the Mini Displayport to DVI). It does run 144Hz which is good. In my case I have a eGPU I was building, so in the end I didn't need the adaptor after all; but for most people you'll need the adaptor if you want to connect a high refresh rate monitor directly to your MPB.

  • Standby on HP Pavillion zv5400

    Hi Arch-friends,
I got the laptop mentioned in the topic and I bought an Benq X-Touch 122 keyboard. It is all working fine, but the keyboard has one key with a half-moon underneath it. When I press this key, the screen of my laptop turns black und the power light starts blinking. I think this is standby. This key works without me having assigned anything to it !!! (For all other keys I use lineak)
The problem is whenever I'm in this standby and want to return backthe screen remains black. Does anybody have an idea how to get my laptop back running from this mode or how to assign another function to it (when I assign a function to this key with lineak, this function works but the laptop will go into standby anyway) ?
It is not very good having a key which can kill your laptop session even if touched by accident. Please help me

I'm sorry, but I've already done that and what these posts were saying didn't work for me. Configuring the files of any standby-program can't do it because i didn't install any. Adding the words "highres=off nohz=off" to menu.lst in grub doesn't seem to do anything and switching between the terminals doesn't give me anything to see. Even pressing strg+alt+f1 doesn't give me the console, the screen stays black !
Thank you very much for that tip, but I already searched anywhere before I posted. Does anybody have another idea ? Knowing how to give the button another function would be a good way, too because the only thing I don't want to have is the "button of death"

  • Should I get a monitor with sound?

Should I get a monitor to use with my Macbook pro with sound?
    I bought a Benq GL2450HM from Amazon - great price at £120
But... the HDMI connection didn't work - didn't work on my PC either
(I double checked on my TV - that works fine with my HDMI connection)
    The Benq had sound
Other monitors I've seen don't have sound
Should I not bother - as sound on a monitor would be poor anyway?
    Thanks
    Omar

I say that you have answered your own question "sound on a monitor would be poor anyway".  Get a good monitor and good external speakers.
    Ciao.

  • How do I connect my MacBook Air bought sep13 to a Benq GL2450? monitor?

How do I connect my MacBook Air bought sep13 to a Benq GL2450? monitor?

External screens are designed to work as extended displays for your computer's display. It means that menu bars and desktop icons won't appear, and you will only see windows if you drag them to the right part of the computer's display.
To change this, you have to activate video mirroring > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5019

  • Problem MacBook and BenQ Projector

    Hi everyone.
Hopefully someone can help me with this. I just bought a MacBook 2.0Ghz 2 Gig RAM and I tried to have it work with a BENQ PB2140 projector that I have. I used a mini-DVI to S-Video adapter (from Apple) to connect both, uisng the S-video port of the projector. Unfortunately, the screen always flicker, sometimes just a few lines at a times, sometimes much worst. I tried all resolutions and scan rates (50 and 60), etc. I just managed to make it work once, after much trial and error. Of course, upon restart (to make sure that I could duplicate my success) the problem came back and I was never able to fix it. As I wanted to use the MacBook (otherwise a stellar machine: my best notebook ever) to make presentations to clients on the road, I am a bit frustrated and could use some help here guys...Thanks in advance.
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2.0 Ghz, 2 G RAM
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2.0 Ghz, 2 G RAM

If you have used this projector with another computer
before, is there any clue from those settings?
I have used the Apple adapter to run S-video into a
high definition TV. As I recall, I bumped the
resolution up from whatever it initially defaulted to
    (800 x 600?) to the highest it would allow (1024 x
    768).
Is NTSC versus PAL an issue? That's on the Color tab
    in Display settings.
Thanks for the reply. I know the BENQ works great with the S-Video port of a Toshiba Satellite A70 that I would like to sell to keep only the MacBook I will check into the NTSC and PAL thing but I think I already fiddled with that. Ans yes I believe that the highest resolution the BENQ takes is 1024 by 768.

  • IMac 27" & External monitor ( Benq 241 ) resolution problems

Hi, im using a 27" imac... recently just bought a mini displayport to HDMI cable to hook it up to my 24" Benq 241 monitor.
Im pretty sure ive used this monitor before without a problem on my old macbook.
    The monitors max resolution is : 1920 x 1200
but im only getting the option of :
    1080i
    1080p
    720p
    480i
    480p
    1600 x 900
    1344 x 1008
.... the rest go down in numbers
selecting 1080p gives a fuzzy picture... and 1080i, is what looks liek the highest - but still really pixellated
    any ideas?

You can get one like this
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/H1824ZM/A/Moshi_Mini_DisplayPort_to_HDMI_Adapt er?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng
But you can also get an inexpensive one from Monoprice

    They usually work well
