Bought a new album; Songs skip halfway through, how do i prevent this?

I recently spent 16 dollars on a new album ive been anticapating listening to. I get ready to hear it for the first time and all is going well until the first songs skips to the next song about halfway through play. I listen to the next song and it skips aswell. every song on the album stops playing about halfway through and skips to the next song, which basically results in me having no music. I tried moving the cursor (what ever you call it) to the later bits of the song/s but it will automatically skip and wont let me play it from their. What can i do to fix this?
P.s this occurs on my ipod AND Itunes.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • IPod classic, songs skipping halfway through or at beginning.

Certain songs will be skipped, halfway through their playback on the iPod, no matter which device I hook it up to, or the song will show up, then be skipped.  They play back fine in iTunes, so what can I do to fix this? iPod support won't help because I'm out of my warranty, and they want me to spend $29.99 just to get an answer.

I'll add that the particular songs that skip (at least 50) played just fine before.

  • IPod Nano (2nd Generation) song skipping halfway through song

This only happens with one song on my new ipod nano.
So I go to listen to this song. Let's say the song is Tourniquet. So, I get 2:47 through the song. It freezes up then, stays there for a couple of seconds, and skips to the next song. Always in the same place. Then I'll go to go back to the song, and it'll go to the song before Tourniquet.
Is there any way to fix this? I've already tried resetting, and that doesn't do anything.

Mine does this too. Have you found an answer?

  • Suddenly archived messages reappear in inbox after I get a new msg in that thread. How can I prevent this?

This is a new problem. I didn't change any account settings that I'm aware of; I can't recall if I installed any updates before it started. It took me a few days to figure out exactly what was going on. At first it just seemed that old, archived messages were reappearing, until I understood the pattern. How can I make this not happen? Help will be greatly appreciated.

This sounds as though it could be a result of using a conversation view, which Thunderbird calls a threaded view. To keep messages in their respective places, try switching to Unthreaded view:
menu > View > Sort by > Unthreaded
Note: if this isn't on the "new" View menu, you can tap the Alt key to display the menu bar temporarily, and then use the classic View menu.
Does that get you where you want to go?

  • Songs skip halfway through in iTunes and on iPhone

Howdy.  I was recently forced to get a new laptop when my hard drive crapped out on me.  Fortunately, my music was backed up on an external hard drive.  Since I was at my five computer limit, I did have to de-authorize all computers from my account and then authorize the new one to play my purchased songs.  However, I now find that some (not all) of the songs I purchased will skip after about 1:50.  Specifically, I bought the 700+ song Bob Dylan collection when it was first offered; these songs seem to be the only ones affected.
I know other people have had similar problems.  The reason I'm starting a new thread is because the songs sometimes play all the way through, depending where you're trying to play them.  Let me explain:
iTunes 10.6: skips to next song after 1:50
iPhone 4S (latest iOS): skips to next song after 1:50
iPod shuffles (2nd and 4th generation): plays through
Since there are a lot of songs affected, I'm wondering if there's a cleaner solution than "delete and re-download ad infinitum".  Any help would be appreciated.

mine has just started to do this today, have you had any luck fixing it?

What do you mean by "won't play"?
Try deleting the song and downloading it again from the iTunes Store.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

You may not have the iPod's Music tab set up in iTunes, which is how you tell iTunes how to automatically sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab.  For example, you can make a playlist in iTunes with all the songs you want on the iPod.  That new album needs to be on that playlist, if you want those songs synced to the iPod.  On the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs sync to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create a playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs), and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity.

  • My ipod songs get halfway through song and then move onto next song automat

    Hello,
I'm rather frustrated. Got ipod as gift at weekend and have downloaded a couple of songs from ITunes.
They play fine on my laptop, but when I play them on my ipod, the song gets halfway through and will then automatically skip onto next song... sometimes it only gets 16 sec's into song and then moves straight on...
Have restored back to factory settings and then put the songs back onto my ipod and they're still playing up... can anyone help me???

  • I just bought a new album in itunes and accidently deleted the first track. when i go to redownload it from my cloud or purchases it tells me that the item cant be redownloaded on this device for 90 days?

i have two itunes accounts but i only use one to buy music. while on the account that i use for music, i bought a new album last night. i bought the album with my 5th gen ipod. after the album was done downloading i accidently side swiped over the first track and deleted it. when i went back to redownload the track the message "this computer is already associated with an apple id. you can download past purchases on this computer with just one apple id every 90 days. this computer can be used with a different apple id in 81 days." i do not understand why i cant redownload something i just purchased. please help.

Unfrotunately, this sounds like a dead TC.
    - also, the picture does NOT pick up the 2 airport expressess in the house that I used to extend the wirelass network on the previous TC
    - there is no option to extend the wireless network
You need to reconfigure the Expresses to rejoin the TC's network via a factory reset.
