Apple's customer support can certainly do that, but it is not necessary. AppleCare follows the product, not its owner.

I just bought an ipad mini with retina display. On my settings page it shows an update occurring for ios.7.0.4 with the message "Estimating time remaining..."
This update and message appeared last evening but doesn't seem to complete. It also says "downloading", but nothing is happening.
How can I complete the download or eliminate it?If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple. -
do you replace the cord/cable of the charger? I just bought my iPad mini with retina last December.
You only replace it if it's not working.

Delete the music in your iTunes library, then go to iTunes store, Quick Link, 'Purchased' to redownload again.

Ipad mini with retina display has really slow and laggy streaming but very high download speed
I just got my ipad mini with retina display yesterday. The regular internet works fine as far as I can tell. I tried streaming video from watch espn, netflix, and youtube, and all three apps were so slow I couldn't watch anything. I have a high download speed too, it is 15 Mbps. I tried turning off the QOS engine in my router, and my download speed was up to 30 Mbps, and I still had the same terrible streaming quality. I tried changing the DNS as well, and this did nothing. I tried doing all the restarting and other "quick fixes," and nothing seems to work. Can anybody help me?

Just bought an ipad mini. Trying to set up internet connection. It recognizes my connection but will not load. There is a padlock shown. How do I get to where I need to enter the password for my connection?
On your router/modem, there will be a Wi-Fi password. If you enter that into your iPad for your connection, then your iPad will have permission to connect to that access point and then you will be able to use your internet.

Using iPad Mini with MacBook Chrome running OS X 10.5.8

My MacBook is coming upto 4 years old and I run 10.5.8. I recently bought an IPad Mini but it cannot connect to iTunes, and I cannot upgrade to iTunes version 7 as I am not running 10.6.8.
Does this mean that I have to upgrade my OS? If so, what's the best way to do this?
Or am I best biting the bullet and investing in a new MacBook?

SteveThere are two ways of looking at this. If the Mac can run Snow Leopard and the machine is still working well for you, you might be able to upgrade and get another year or two out the current machine.
Here are the minimum requirements for Snow Leopard.

You can try contacting Apple and see if they still have it available. I bought it for $29.00 at Best Buy about 18 months ago and some online stores still have it but you will get the best deal with Apple more than likely. I would try this number from the online store.

The other way of approaching this is - if you can afford a new Mac - with the purchase of a new Mac and a new iPad Mini - you should be set for a few more years to come. -

Where can I get an adapter for the same? Do I need to charge it only using laptop?You only need a US to India plug adapter for the charger, it should then work with it - an iPad's charger is rated for 100 to 240V (my UK charger has that written on it), so it will work in India
