Bought an iPhone off ebay and its stolen and locked on icloud at activation, what should i do?
Recently, my partner bought an iphone off ebay to find out it was stolen, no money can be recieved back so is there anything Apple or the community can recommend?
Sell it for parts, give bad feedback, file paypal or ebay claim, do better homework next time.
And the last one my favorite - spank him/her.

You would need to contact the seller and get their icloud information.
Best thing to do, is return the phone and get your money back, then buy your iphone from an authorized Apple dealer and you won't run into this problem. -

Not normal. For 3G and later it takes minutes, for a 1G or 2G it can take four hours or so.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.

If the seller will not respond, contact Ebay and report the fraud. The device is most likely stolen.

i bought my iphone 4 about a year ago and just decided to upgrade it to ios5 just recently. My phone restored to to its factory settings and when I clicked continue restore from back up it is now asking a backup password which i dont remember setting up one. I am currently using a windows vista PC. How can I retrieve the password or restore all my old data into the new OS. I have been reading blogs about the same situation and is it true that it is one of apple's bugs?
It is NOT a bug. You provided a password. If you can't remember it, you can't restore your phone from backup. Very simple.

I bought an iPhone 5 around fifteen days back and it has already started to give problem with the on/off button. I have to press it five six times to switch it on or off. I am so frustrated by the fact that if I bring it to the service centre, I am going to get a refurbished phone in place of my brand new phone which I just bought. Live with the phone as is.
Take the device to Apple for evaluation... it may not need replacement.
Even if it does, neither you or the Apple tech should be able to tell if the replacement is new or refurbished.
