Bought Apps Don't Open

Unfortunately, I just had my iPhone looked at today at the Genius Bar because the battery life was being erratic.
I haven't been using my phone for most of the day since then (when it did it worked fine), but just about a half hour ago I tried to open the facebook application and the blank, unloaded screen opened up and immediately went back to the home page.
I looked at my other apps and found that this same thing, where the blank, unloaded screen opens up and then goes right back to home, happens with all of the apps that I've bought, but not ones I've gotten directly from Apple.
Has this been happening to anyone else?
Is it possible to fix?
What helps even less is that I'm leaving on a month long trip in two days and have no free time to take myself to another Apple store to get this figured out before I leave.
Thanks for any help!

I had the same isuue on my iPhone 3G.
I've installed iPhone OS 3.0, everything worked fine for several days, included bought apps and then after a crash, there was no way to launch bought apps (the same way the others experienced it).
I was away from my computer so I wasn't able to try anything on it (sync, restore, etc...).
Reboot iPhone several times, reset, hard reboot, log off/log in appstore account: NONE WORKED
Finally, I went into App Store on iPhone, then in updates, I've updates some app I have to update and... YES, it fixed the problem for me.
I was able to launch my bought apps again. Everything worked fine again and I recovered all my apps with all my prefs, scores, etc...
Thanks to Frodo Fraggins post !!!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • My Adobe Creative Cloud apps don't open. What to do?

I want to use Adobe Indesign.
So I bought a subscription for the Adobe Creative Cloud.
I managed to download the Adobe Creative Cloud - program. And I can open the application.
But when I want to open an App, the little 'opening up' wheel continues to run. The app does not open. What to do?
I have a MacBook Pro. Memory: total 4 Gb. Free memory: 1,6 Gb.

  • HT204266 my app don't open

I try to open my app to download some game and don't open so is itunes. This is happen on my ipad 2.Please help me.

Try closing all apps via the taskbar and see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • After i synch many apps don't open

After I synch with iTunes many of my iPad apps no longer open. My laptop's iTunes has multiple login IDs, but these apps I have downloaded myself. I select the manual synch, but then don't really have the opportunity to make any manual selections.

If the apps aren't opening or are crashing on the iPad, then if it's happening on all the apps that you've downloaded from the App Store, but not the Apple built-in ones, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.
If it's happening on all apps then try closing them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
In terms of syncing what shows on the iPad's Apps tab on your computer's iTunes - are the apps greyed out so that you can't tick them, or is it that nothing happens when you try to sync them ?

  • My apps don't open after updating

HELP!! I updated my ipad before i slept and this morning, apps such as keynote, QuickOffice, and Wallpaper don't open. They appear for a split second after i tap on the icon and the screen returns to the menu of apps again. I can see them in the bottom toolbar, though... so does that mean that they're open but have some sort of malfunction?? HELP!!

thanks! I got really ticked off and went to the nearest Mac shop and here's what we did: 1. made sure that my store account in my laptop was the same one that i'm using with the ipad. 2. tried to sync (but this failed). 3. downloaded some of the apps to the LAPTOP. 4. did a sync... AND IT WORKED!!!
    Thanks for the help, guys!

  • Hi everyone, I've had problems with some apps on my iPad. The apps don't open after update

How do I fix apps that don't open after update?

Try a hard reset ie hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears (ignore the red slider). Are you still using iOS 4.3.3, as in your profile? A lot of apps now need an iOS of 6 or higher for the update to download.

  • Office Web Apps don't open documents stored on Sharepoint server

We have Sharepoint Server 2013 installed on a AD domain controller and Office Web Apps installed on a machine in the same domain and configured for internal-http WOPI zone. Discovery XML works fine. When opening a MS Office document, Office Web Apps show
its label for a minute or two, and then display the message "Sorry, Web App can't open this document because the service is busy. Please try again later" or the message "Web App cannot open this document due to an unknown error."
Network logs show repeated requests to Docdatahandler.ashx to which Web Apps server each time responds with some XML saying it's busy, and to Reshandler.ashx to which the server each time responds with 404 status.

I have updated my ipod touch 2G to ios 5 but my apps won't open anymore. When I try, i have a message saying that I need ios 4.0.
Before this update, my apps worked fine. How can I do to make them work again?

    - Based on the release date specified here, it appears to be a 2G iPod:

    - Are you sure you updated the iPod?  If you go to Settings>General>About>Version what is listed?
    - If you have a 2G with iOS 5 then you would have had to jailbreak the iPOd and that can cause problems

  • Non-Apple apps don't open after iOS5 upgrade (with fix)

Hi, I thought I'd add this thread in case it's useful to someone else with the same problem.
I had a iPhone 4 on latest 4.3.5 and upgraded via iTunes to iOS5 this morning.
None of my non-Apple apps would open, they'd just open and close instantly. So Facebook, Tweetdeck, Things, BBC News etc wouldn't work but ones like Reminders, App Store etc would.
I did a restore and restore from a backup and this didn't fix the problem.
I removed the apps from memory (home double-click) and rebooted the phone and still the non-Apple apps wouldn't load.
So finally I thought I'd reinstall the apps from scratch, deleted Facebook and grabbed it again from the App Store.
This worked and fired up as normal, tried the others non-Apple apps and they all work too!
No idea why, not sure if it's specifically the Facebook app or if I could have done that too any of them.
All sorted now and iOS5 is lovely

    Confirmed!
I had the same problem, deleted a weather app (so no valuable data attached to it) re-installed it and all the other apps seem to work again.
Which single app you delete & reload doesn't seem to matter, I think you just need to re-establish the connection between the device and your App Store account in order to trigger some kind of background authorization.
It might also work by deleting nothing and just grabbing a new, free app.

  • My apps don't open what can i do?

    So you tried everthing here:

Try a restore, first from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • IPad 3: suddenly apps don't open

I bought my iPad 3 5 days ago.
This morning the apps I downloaded don't load any more: clicking nothing happens. Just the pre-loaded ones works.
    What happened???

The reason that "fix" works is that it resets an iTunes authorization issue with the iTunes Store - or at least that is how it is supposed to work according to this.
    3. Install another app from the App Store
If all user-installed apps are not launching, it could be an Apple ID authorization issue. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information.
Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.
So do you have another Apple ID that you need to download with as well? If not, go through the other troubleshooting steps on this site.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702
BUT - before you go through all of this steps - try restarting your iPad and then download another app - if that doesn't work - reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
You can also try signing out of your account - Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and then sign in again - Settings>Store>Sign In.

  • HT4972 After Updating-Apps Don't Open

I updated my phone last night and everything was fine, this morning after using it for an hour or so, all of my downloaded apps stopped opening. The only information I can find keeps referring to jailbreaking, but I don't even know what that is. A simple step by step explanation of how to fix it would be immensely appreciated.

Try downloading and installing any free app from the App Store. That usually resets things as they should be.
