Bought apps/music, then iphone broke

I spent money on songs and apps on my iphone, purchased and cleared through itunes and then my phone crashed. Apple replaced it (they were wonderful) and I had it backed up but only until the day before I bought the music/apps I'm missing. Is there any way to get these things back to my phone directly from itunes???!

Bought app.. and iphone 4 / itunes 9.2 stops syncing and wont load any apps

Hi, been using itunes and iphone 4 all dandy on win 7
Bought a sat nav app in itunes today, downloaded.. shows in itunes "apps" folder.
-From now on when I hit sync, it locks the phone while doing sync.. for like 5 seconds.. then stops as if a full sync has been done.
Have done the total uninstall as per apple support page, and rebooted and re installed. Exact same. I cant load any new apps or back up new ones bought on phone.
What's goin on? Any ideas pls?

Go to the Event Viewer (Control Panel || Administrative Tools || Event Viewer) and look under Windows Logs || Application. Do you see any Bonjour errors? Since Windows 7 recognizes the camera part of the iPhone (nicely done Win7 integration!) Microsoft is probably not the culprit here.
Uninstall/reinstall iTunes is part of the process, but you also have to make sure you uninstall all the other components Apple installs (Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour for Windows, QuickTime), do a reboot, and then install everything from scratch. That may fix the problem.
This is exactly what an Apple guy talked me through over the phone. (I think I even uninstalled Apple Software Updater) I had a similar problem with the iPad on Win7 x64 - it was Bonjour that is the culprit. The x64 flavor of Bonjour for Windows is not as stable as the 32-bit version.
But everything has been golden for me since the reinstall...
Give that a try.
Then if not, you could start looking to see if there is another ZeroConf/SSDP provider that is conflicting with Apple's somehow.

ITunes bought app synch to iphone - help please

I have just purchased an app through iTunes due to the size (322mg), when I have gone to sync from app page all greyed out and warns me that synching this will override all my other apps. It does say that you can drag and drop to avaoid this is 3.1 or above but no option to ... any help before I press the button and lose the lot?

3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is not stored with the app. 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is included with your iPod Touch backup and with your iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
You can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch. This would be the only way if this is possible. It should be but not something I have done.

I have a 3Gs that will be delievered this week. I have a huge amount of music and it isn't all going to fit on the 32 gig.
How do I partition or seperate the tunes I want to be on the new iPhone? There must be a way to tell it to only take these tracks.....but not these tracks right?
I would really appreciate the direction.

I create a playlist called "IPhone Music". Into that playlist I drop and drag any albums or tracks from albums I want on my iPHone. You can add and delete from this playlist easily on iTunes and it will update your phone each time you sync. I haven't found anything easier. I have 50 GB of albums on my computer so it is really easy to just drag and drop the 20 or 30 albums I want on my iPhone without having to do a lot of checking and unchecking of anything in iTunes itself...
Anytime I add new music or albums via iTunes (I only purchase albums, I don't purchase individual tracks), I just automatically have gotten into the habit of copying that album into my "Iphone Music" playlist as soon as it has downloaded to put a copy on the phone and keep a copy on the computer.

Bought Apps Don't Open

Unfortunately, I just had my iPhone looked at today at the Genius Bar because the battery life was being erratic.
I haven't been using my phone for most of the day since then (when it did it worked fine), but just about a half hour ago I tried to open the facebook application and the blank, unloaded screen opened up and immediately went back to the home page.
I looked at my other apps and found that this same thing, where the blank, unloaded screen opens up and then goes right back to home, happens with all of the apps that I've bought, but not ones I've gotten directly from Apple.
Has this been happening to anyone else?
Is it possible to fix?
What helps even less is that I'm leaving on a month long trip in two days and have no free time to take myself to another Apple store to get this figured out before I leave.

I had the same isuue on my iPhone 3G.
I've installed iPhone OS 3.0, everything worked fine for several days, included bought apps and then after a crash, there was no way to launch bought apps (the same way the others experienced it).
I was away from my computer so I wasn't able to try anything on it (sync, restore, etc...).
Reboot iPhone several times, reset, hard reboot, log off/log in appstore account: NONE WORKED
Finally, I went into App Store on iPhone, then in updates, I've updates some app I have to update and... YES, it fixed the problem for me.
I was able to launch my bought apps again. Everything worked fine again and I recovered all my apps with all my prefs, scores, etc...

How can I transfer new apps from my iphone without replacing apps I don't want?

When you sync your iPhone you sometimes get the following message:
Itunes has found purchased items on the iphone thats arenot present in your itunes library.
There are two reasons for this:
1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.
2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.
So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

If the device has the same Apple ID signed onto the iTunes & App Store, then you can download any apps purchased under that Apple ID to that device.
I thought you were asking about a game and game statistics being shared between two devices with two separate players. What I said about that is that if it is under the same ID, then the game is going to have the same statistics on both devices, and any updates to those would be reflected in both places. So, two different players wouldn't be able to have separeate statistics if they were playing under the same Apple ID.

Well, it's certainly behaving as though the phone that was backed up was synced to a different iTunes library.
I'm going to throw one more thing out there... Yes, you backed it up to this computer... Was the phone previously set up to sync with this computer? Or was it syncing with a different computer and you just backed it up to this one?
You may have to end up setting it up as a new device and rebuilding the phone by manually re-syncing your data, apps, music, etc. to the phone.
Trying to keep your library on a different drive can be tricky. If iTunes starts up and the library isn't available, it may end up generating a new library ID, meaning that you could easily find yourself in exactly the position you're in now...
I'm curious why there was a need to restore your phone to begin with... It may not have any bearing on this at all, but it could.

This is silly. Importing music to iphone has worked for me before but suddenly it won´t. I bought an album on itunes store and cant get it to my iphone now. I want to handle this manually and this is also marked. If i right click on the tracks and try to drag them to my phone they won´t follow, but I get a red point on the number of tracks I try to import.
I am sorry but itunes is really the worst crap ever made...

It sounds like you are unable to finish downloading your purchases from the iTunes store and you cannot open your Music app. I want to recommend first, closing all the running apps on the device.
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app's preview up to close it.

If you are in a country where iTunes purchased music can be redownloaded, and if it's still in your country's store, then you might be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone (and the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTiunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes). I have this excact problem too, Deleting the the app and then reinstalling it won't delete your photos as they are stored on facebooks servers. You will just have to remember you username and password to sign in again. Ever since Facbook bought instagram i have had this problem on my 4S too.

Yes, the Mac can read NTFS drives, but not write to them.
If you have the drive formatted FAT or exFAt then the Mac can read and write to it. But before formatting, remove the data as it's erased, and format it on the PC as it's easier. Right click on Windows and Format.
Drives, partitions, formatting w/Mac's + PC's
Moving your personal data via the external drive is likley the best option, there are other methods like Migration, but they are problematic and take a long time, a drive is simple, fast and direct.
