Bought Computer with Vista and received a free Windows 7 upgrade - can I download Windows 7?
I purchased my computer with Windows Vista and was able to get a free upgrade of Windows 7. I've scanned my computer for viruses on Microsoft and they find no viruses. My anti-virus program has scanned the computer and has found nothing.
Yesterday I was trying to install a program and that's when my anti-virus program told me there was a threat. It removed it and I kept on with the installation. After that my Internet Explorer doesn't work and when I go to "Uninstall
Programs" it only shows that I have just Microsoft programs, everything under "M" and nothing else. I've tried to restore my computer and every time after a restore it gives me an error code 0x80070005. I've turned off anti-virus
and restored and have even restored in Safe Mode but still get the same error message. Does anyone know what I can do to get this straightened out??

What is the anti-virus program you have on your computer? Please take a try to uninstall the 3rd party anti-virus program and then perform the system restore under
system recovery options.
Some 3rd-party anti-virus program might not be incompatible with Windows processes.

Try downloading them onto the iPad normally. If you're asked to pay for them, you can't.
The developer needs to create the two versions separately.

(1) You should not need to use Windows on your Mac unless you want to do so.
I'm unsure what a "luminex camera" is, but you can probably use your Mac's iPhoto app with it.
Launching iPhoto and search iPhoto > Help for "import" (without the quote marks.)

I am new to the Palm (~1mo.) but I was using hotsync with my old laptop which had Windows XP and was not experiencing any real problems. That computer is going bye-bye, I bought an HP with the Vista OS and I followed the directions on downloading the Download Palm Desktop by ACCESS 6.2 from the website but now I can not get my device to sync-- The Desktop computer asks for the appropriate drivers. I tried searching online, on the disk that came with the smartphone and even reinstalling a couple times and everything is dead in the water...
Anyone able to help me out on this?
Is there an additional patch of some sort to download?
Post relates to: Palm m515Just in case it is not clear... that post was made after I bought the bluetooth adapter and tried following the advice provided in the Vista 64 Hotsync solution found! post. Again-- my statement of not working is for the following reasons:
1) my PC tells me that the sychronization completed with errors.
2) when I look at the log that the Backup sychronization aborted.
3) It almost invariably tells me that it Failed to backup 1 file(s) and that file is "NetworkProfiles2" through a "Protocol Error: Unknown error. (6410)"
4) many of my contacts (over half) duplicate during this synchronization.
5) many of my appointments (over half) duplicate during this synchronization.
The information about creating a virtual serial port on my PC comes from my actual palm itself. The palm info is in the HotSynch verbage and it tells me to contact my computer manufacturer. In doing so however they have no idea how to do this and Palm does not either. I am still working with HP on trying to resolve that part of it but I am thinking from the hours of research that Palm wants me to create another COM port but again the help I am finding on this is beyond my pay grade so to speak... you can check out the following link and try to help me if you like:

So... any ideas my friend? It appears that some Vista 64-bit users are having success with a bluetooth synch but I have tried emailing those that claim to have been able to do this with no luck. I am not having any luck (I hope my outline above is clearer)-- and no one has seemed to had any luck recently.
I would love to make this work-- I bought this phone for this functionality.

My PC will no longer connect to I Tunes Store. I can see my library but cannot connect or sync. Tried everything including all the tips from I Tunes. Nothing works. Have installed and reinstalled over and over.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc. Use this to put everything back.

Been using your products for over 10 years. Love the products and will continue to use them. But this is absurd and makes me extremely pissed. I purchased the package thinking I was going to get a free upgrade and was never informed of upgrade deadline at time of purchase. Furthermore I called Adobe once before (right around the release of cs6) and was told the update would take sometime. I don't know what Adobe thinks they will gain by pissing off a loyal customer. I have always thought it was best to obtain products legally by paying for them. Whatever. I just got a new computer with Vista on it. When I hook my WRT54G router to it, I am unable to send e-mails. They get stuck in my OUTBOX and I get a timeout error. I can receive e-mails but cannot send them. Also, my internet can drag at times when the router is connected. When I remove the router, everything works fine.
I've contacted Tech support several times and every suggestion they give doesn't solve the problem. I've updated firmware, changed all sorts of settings in the router setup page, including adjusting my Port Range Forward settings (at the instruction of tech support)
I'm wondering if it's just a Vista thing and I should buy a newer router. I don't know what else to do.
Any suggestions?
PatrickWell if you can send emails, when you connect computer to modem directly, then it might be ports forwarding issue. Update firmware of router to latest version and assign a static ip on computer like 192.168.1.11, and obtain ports used by outgoing mail server, and forward those ports to static IP assigned, on router's setup.

My macbook pro no longer connects to my TV with the mini dvi to hdmi adapter. A while ago the computer fell down and hit the cable. How can I tell if the computer is working ok. Doesn't show mirroring any more. Was working while watching a movie but when I pulled it out from the computer and put it back in the system would no longer mirrorr the screen on the TV.

Computer with Vista doesn't recognize my iPod Nano
When I plug in my iPod to the USB on my computer with Vista, nothing happens. My iPod doesn't show up. I have tried resetting my iPod and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of iTunes. I have also tried plugging it into another USB on my computer.

1. Reset your iPod, iPod nano, iPod mini, or iPod shuffle.
2. Retry your iPod with a different USB or FireWire port on your computer (please note that the latest iPods can only be synced through USB).
3. Restart your computer, and make sure that you have the latest software updates installed.
4. Reinstall your iPod and iTunes software. You can download the latest versions of iPod Updater and iTunes from our website.
5. Restore your iPod using the latest iPod Updater. Important: Please note that restoring an iPod will erase all songs and files on your iPod and restore it back to its original settings. Make a backup of any files on your iPod before restoring it. After restoring, you can transfer your music and files from your computer back to your iPod again.
I did reset my iPod, tried restarting the computer, and reinstalled iPod on here AND updated iTunes to the latest version. I only have one USB port on this laptop, so its possible it isn't high-powered (is that the right term?) enough for iPod? This computer is pretty old. So aside from that the last option in your suggestion is the Restore. I just don't understand how that can be the only option just because I got a new computer. If so I wish I had known that before using iTunes to buy my music -

A really easy way to do this is the following:
#Click the Start button, type %APPDATA% into the search bar, press Enter (on your old PC)
#Right click on the Mozilla folder, copy to a thumb drive (or something you can use to transfer it to your new PC)
#Go to %APPDATA% the same way on your new computer
#If the Mozilla folder already exists, I'd either delete it or rename it
#Paste the Mozilla folder into the same place on your new PC
#then upgrade to Firefox 15

Guys take a computer, pack it full with stolen software, and then charge more than the computer is worth.
But: no upgrades, no support. And you'll never know if there's not some malware, spyware somewhere.
I wouldn't want to work with such software.
It's really the best to wipe the drive, and only use your own software. Charge it under "experience".
And it's only $50...
