Bought ilife 05, invalid instrument library
Hello,
I just bought a copy of iLife '05 and used the install dvd to install it. The main reason I bought iLife 05 was for Garageband. However, when I open Garageband, it tells me the instrument library is invalid. So I click "choose", and select the folder "instrument library" in the Garageband folder, but it just keeps telling me the same thing. Can anyone help? Thank you,

Your instrument library is HD/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library. If the folder is there, it might be a permissions problem - try the general "oddball" fix:

please help!!!!I have had the same problem, and I think it might relate to the fact that the account that is trying to launch GB is a non-admin account. I was able to launch the program OK from an admin account and then as soon as I try to launch it from my son's account (limited), it gave me the error.
I need to find a work around, because my son likes GB, but I am not about to make him an admin user to to use GB. -
I recently upgraded to Lion on an iMac and I am trying to run Garageband but get message telling me that the instrument library is invalid and I should choose a valid Instrument Folder or re-install Garageband. Where do I find such a folder?

The problem is that the instructions that come in the pdf with the downloaded files do not work, because the files that download from that page do not have the names referred to in the pdf, and most of the things that are referred to in the instructions do not happen. Here is what actually happened.
When I downloaded the files from the website, these are the files that downloaded:
I double-clicked each one and they extracted into two different folders.
Then I read a message on the forum that said to move all the extractred files into the same folder, so I moved all files into one file at C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 as was pictured in the forum message. Here are screen shots showing all of the files in that folder I have now:
So then I double clicked the "Setup" file and I got this error message:
So then I tried to install the programs separately from the installer inside the folders Photoshop and Illustrator. I got this far and entered the serial number from the website:
But then I got this error message, even though I was using the files and serial number exactly from the website:
I tried both photoshop and illustrator and the same thing happened.
(I also looked at Solution 2 that you mentioned above but I don't have anything called VCOM on the computer. Also the error message that I got is not that one.)
I think I really need a set of instructions that lists the steps in order to do, but based on the files that actually download from the website and what happens when you extract the files. I feel as if I have all of the proper files but it still doesn't work.

Motherboard went in my g5 desktop so i go my hard drive extracted with all my data..I now have an ibook g4 laptop running off OSX 10.4.11 and am trying to get Garageband working but get this message: The Instrument Library is invalid. GarageBand expects a valid Instrument Library folder?

Why is the Instrument Library invalid?

Had problems with my hard drive and I managed to loose GarageBand. I was able to get the GarageBand 3 program (102.7 MB) and the Instrument file (1.52 GB) from a friend. Placed the GarageBand program into the Applications folder, and the Instrument Library in the Library/Application Support/ GarageBand file. When I try to launch the program, it still says I need to place a valid Instrument Library in the Library/Applicaion Support/ GarageBand file or load another GarageBand program. I thought that is exactly what I did??!!?? What do I have to do to get this thing to work?

The problem is I have the install discs for the original OS that came with the computer. Then, I have the Tiger OS and I've updated to 10.4.10 since that. When I run the old OS discs, it doesn't give me a choice to custom install GarageBand, and I don't want to put my new software into another file and install an old OS completely just to find GarageBand. What are my choices?

GB 2 Instrument Library Invalid
Hi! After reading the post and answer re:Paul Bonomo 12-23-06. I was able to get my GB 2 open. However, I had to take the Instrument Library out of my application folder and place it on the desk top. For reasons unknown when in the application folder the Instrument Library is not being recognized. Can anyone provide me with insight into this problem?

We took your advice and ran several keyword searches in the Garageband forums .. yet
were only able to discover your proposed (linked) solutions. Guess we need a few lessons in forum
searching too.
You could easily foresee our next question a mile off .. and that is .. what's next?
And now we are operating Tiger 10.4.3 .
Here's an interesting development .. at iMac start-up .. an icon flashes for
about a minute then resolves to a folder .. alternating between ? folder
and Mac face folder .. then eventually .. machine proceeds to display the
grey apple and spinning 'wheel' and then opens to business as usual ..
about a five minute procedure in total. Never seen before .. until
the attempted repair routine .. and no change since updating to Tiger 10.4.3 .
Curious about the unexpected delayed start-up routine. Investigating ...

Does anyone have issues with the instrument library?
I've installed iLife 08 and then added all the jam packs. Now when I open GB the default track is an accordion (not a piano) and when adding loops to the timeline they take on a different instrument sound (e.g. drum loop sounds like raindrops, etc.)
I've searched high and low for similar problems and have found nothing that resembles this, I've cleared my preferences and repaired permissions and still nothing helps, I've contemplated reinstalling but I have no guarentee that that will help and I'm reluctant to invent the 3 hours it will take to do all that if it is all for nothing...
Bottom line is...is this really an issue with the instrument library and is there any way for me to fix this without reinstalling?Just loaded the 6.0.2 update a few days ago. I was hoping it would fix the dropping of wifi where the 4g and 3g always kept. I have restored the router and I have even switched towers through AT&T's help, but to no avail. I still am dropped and sometimes it spins and spins looking to connect and then says, Cannot connect at this time. Sometimes it connects, and when the phone goes to sleep, it disconnects and then it is heck connecting again. I am very upset for I do not have unlimited data and my data has soared over 270 mg which I usually always kept way below 200 as being in my home most of the time. I am planning to take into AT& T store for a new one, just not happy with the wifi situation. It is sad that this cannot be fixed with an update. I saw earlier that some Iphone 5 made in China were the cuprits, and maybe I got one of those. I hope At&T and Apple are reading these dialogs. Please let me know if fixes are on the way!

How do I get my 3rd party instruments to show up in my Logic Pro instrument library?
I have purchased and downloaded orchestra instrument libraries from Albion. How do I get them to show up in my instrument library so they can be used?

If you mean the Spitfire Albion series (?) these run within Kontakt.
Most 3rd party plugins do not directly support the Logic Library, so you would need to manually load in the plugin and any setting within the plug itself.
You can then save that as a "Logic" Setting or Patch, which will show up in the Library.
There is a large collection of Logic Settings for many 3rd party plugs over at LogicProHelp.com

iTunes in Mac OS X Tiger is outdated. Open > Software Update to install the latest iTunes version for Tiger.
If you need iTunes 10.7 or a newer version, you have to upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. First, check that your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 If it is, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After buying Snow Leopard, make a backup of your data, insert the DVD and upgrade to Snow Leopard. After upgrading, open > Software Update, and install the latest Snow Leopard version. Mobile Agent 7.5 Invalid Instrument

Can anybody help me diagnose my config issue for IPCC Error [12005} Login could not be performed - Possible casuses are Invalid Instrument ?
This is my attempt to configure my first mobile agent using the following config:

PGUser is is my PG configured application user and is associated with the two devices, te association seems to be working as the CTI ports go registered.
However, when I try to login in my agent I get the login issue. I've tried adding an /ext 4002151 and /ext 5000F000 but neither attempt helped.
I've looked at the JTAPI logs and I see an attempt to make the outbound call to 4009999 but the CUCM response is state=DISCONNECTED cause=UNALLOCATEDNUMBER.
Any ideas?

I've now made progress and found out the CSS on the CUCM for the CTI ports was incorrect and couldn't make outbound calls to the phone number I was testing against ... so now I can log in.
Unfortunatly I now find that MA works if I am in a ready state, but if the calls gets queued via the IPIVR 7.0 server then the call gets dropped when the agent goes ready and a transfer is initiated to the agent. The IVR CTI ports seems to have the correct CSS so I'm a bit confused about this one, more debugging required.

i bought ilife 11 but cant update it. Is there any e-mail address which can i get help about ilife 11?
i bought it from Turkey website. apple.com.tr and i paid the price bu i cant update it and there are nothing i can do? i called the turkey's apple but they said i should mail this to apple.com. So, i didnt find any e-mail support address for ilife 11.
what should i do? apple support center is really bad for unplanned situations.Apple doesn't have an e-mail address. Unfortunately you'll have to resort to snail mail, for anything that can't be answered by phone or the website.

"Invalid type library" error when opening Excel via ActiveX

I am trying to open Excel via ActiveX (Automation open function), for
instance by running the
build in example "Open Excel and make visible". However, on some computers,
I recieve the error code -2147319784 "Old format or invalid type library".
The problem seems to be that LabView is unable to recognize the ActiveX
control, as it does not appear in the list "Select ActiveX Class". It works
perfecly from Matlab though, so the control seem to be in order. I have also
tried reinstalling Office.
On most computers it works perfectly, but three identical Dell P4 900Mhz
have the same problem.
/Stefan BorgThis may be happening due to different Excel versions, a vi made to control Excel 97 won't work for Excel 2000 and vice-versa. Be sure you are using the correct activeX calls for each one.
