Bought iPhone 4S as Christmas gift, but got email saying it will be automatically activated now
I bought an iPhone 4S on my AT&T account as an upgrade on one of the lines. It is a Christmas gift. I don't want to activate it until Christmas so the recipient's current iPhone will continue to work. It is my understanding that their current iPhone won't work once the new once is activated. I got an email last night from the "iTunes Store" saying that if I don't activate the phone within the next 5 days, "we will automatically complete your activation." The email goes on to say "this has the potential to disrupt your existing phone service." How can I stop this automatic activation (and deactivation of the current iPhone) from taking place?

It's very, very hard to use a GSM phone without a SIM. In fact, it's impossible. This does not lend much credence to your claims to expert status.

My iPhone 4 started to update but got stuck in recovery mode. I've tried everything anyone on the website has told me to do, but nothing has worked. I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing after this update process. I found the following article that has more information on the iTunes error code 9006:

Configure your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, or 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.

If you purchased thru your carriers website you could try calling your nearest company owned store to see if they do an exchange when you receive the 16GB. Chances are they have a larger demand for the 16GB then the 32GB. You're still going to have to wait until your receive your 16GB though. At least that's how AT&T works.

Most likely nothing is, others have received this email but nothing happens. For now (unless you are having problem) ignore it.

You might be able to re-enable your account via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
For your security questions, if you don't have a rescue email address, or you don't have access to the email account, then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 - you can also try this link to get your account re-enabled if the above doesn't work.

I have an old I pod that was syncd with a windows computer, now i am trying to sync with my mac itunes account. We have the same i tunes account but it is saying i will lose all my songs if i sync now. Help?
I would recommend you use a program called senuti that allows you to copy your songs over to a new computer from an iPod. Unfortunatlly you have to pay for the full version but it allows you to have 1000 free song capacity of copying over and a movie counts as the capacity of 1 song.

I have used the resume tablet and put my resume into format but when emailing it, it will not open on windows. How can I change the format to where they will be able to open and view it?
I guess you mean one of the resume templates.
What "format" have you saved your finished resume in?
The only formats a Windows user will be able to open are .doc (Word), .pdf and rtf. The 1st 2 are usually the best.
There is no Windows version of Pages.

Buying an iPhone as a Christmas gift
My boss wants to buy a couple iPhones as Christmas gifts this year. One for his wife and one for his son. Is he able to buy the phone and bring it home to connect it (as in on Christmas day they would open it for the first time)? Or will he need to tell them like 3 weeks early, due to having to activate it.

Apple doesn't want all those phone end up on eBay. AT&T and Apple offer gift cards, as the only option you have to give someone an iPhone. But you guys have to be keep in mind few factors: Will iPhones be available when you go to store to pick them up, I don't believe buying a gift card will guarantee you an iPhone, if it's for the new line, will there be a deposit or not, that's an other factor to remember, and of course the upgrade eligibility, will the price be $199/299 or $399/499. I will have to agree that Apple makes it extreemly hard to give an iPhone as a gift, even AT&T people don't think it's a good idea, with gift cards and all. So you guys need to go to AT&T store or I guess Apple store and first find out the answers to all thsose questions, and Apple ofcourse will have better quanities in stock, but check with AT&T about axpected stock quanities (note AT&T can not hold them for anyone). -
