Bought iphone but icloud lock
i bought an iPhone but it has iCloud lock on it. i managed to get the owners icloud id that's associated with their account. (j*****@i****.com)
he says he doesn't have access to the iCloud account and his recovery email because he hasn't used the account for a few years now. and deleted his recovery email. how do i get the phone unlocked?
Return it and get your money back. There is no way to bypass the activation lock. Only the owner of the account it's locked with can remove the lock.
If they are unwilling or unable to do so, it's a brick.
They can reset their password using Apple's online tools or by contacting Apple and speaking to someone in account security. If they can't do either of those, then there is nothing anyone can do.

If you forget your passcode there is only one way to remedy the situation.
Put your phone in recovery mode and restore the device using iTunes.

hello, i buy this used iphone 5 with ios 6 and can use it for several hours , till i start ios 7 update. i didn't know that it can be locked by find my iphone program. I turn off find my iphone but icloud activation lock still on
i have set up my icloud on iphone 4s 16gb ios 7.0.6 and then i check to my icloud account my device is listed on find my iphone, then i turn off find my iphone in the iphone it asked for password and confirmed that find my iphone is off, i checked it again on my icloud account on the website my device not listed anymore, and then i checked through icloud.com/activation lock put my serial but it said find my iphone still on, then i tried again to turn on FMI confirmed is on then i checked again on my icloud account the device listed there, i turn off again the device dissapeared, check again the activation lock still on, i want to update to the latest ios this is really confusing, my wifi is greyed out cause of updating to ios 7.0.6 but another problem start with find my iphone, how can i solve this

You have wasted your money if you do not have the iCloud password.
Nobody can bypass the activation lock - not even Apple.
Only the previous owner can remove the lock. -

No one here, or at Apple, can find the previous owner for you. If you can't locate the owner yourself you should just turn it into the police as it may have been reported stolen.

You will only be able to use it if the Activation lock can be removed. To do that, You'll have to know the Apple ID that has been used to set it up. Check this article about it:

If the previous owner does not give you the info or is not able to sell the iPhone without the Activation Lock enabled, don't buy the device, you will not be able to restore it. -

Hey everybody. I bought a used iphone 5 on craigslist. I have been using it for a couple months now without issue. I went to factory reset it and it asked for a password. Turns out there is an icloud account created on the phone and I need a password for it in order to reset phone. Is there a way to delete the icloud account? Keeping in mind it is not locked and I can access everything on the phone. Would booting it up in recovery work through iTunes? Thanks for the help.
Correct my if I am wrong, but I thought if an iPhone is icloud locked, that when you turn it on, you get a message asking for you to enter the icloud email address and password...I don't get that. The phone boots up just fine, I can use wifi/4g, make phone calls. Do whatever I want. The only thing is there is an icloud acct on the phone.
Hypothetically, say I met someone at a bar and I got up for a second to use the restroom and left my phone on the bar. Let's say the person thought it would be funny to put their icloud account onto my phone...they don't lock it or anything, just create an icloud account on my phone. They forget to tell me and we both just go our separate ways. The phone continues to work just fine, but that icloud acct is there forever unless I run into them again?? -

If you purchased this phone second hand, then you have encountered the Activation Lock and if you cannot get the account password, then has already been stated, the phone is useless to you and there is nothing that you can do. You will never be able to use this phone and nobody here can help you.
Take the phone back and ask for a refund and start again by purchasing a phone from a legitimate source. -

You could speak with the police since they sold you a device you can't use and refuse to give you your money back or cooperate so you can use it. Without the previous owner erasing the device and removing it from their account you will not be able to use it. No one else can help and there's no way around this.
