Bought it on Amazon, Downloaded it, can't open it

I just bought the Student/teacher version of Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements on Amazon. I downloaded it, which took over an hour. Then I clicked on "Install." All it did was open a directory that showed me where the files are located. How do I open the damn program and use it?
Meanwhile I logged into https://www.identit-e.com/adobe and verified my teacher status. So what am I supposed to do next to open the damn thing? The instructions SUCK.

I'm in the same boat with you. Adobe sucks!

You won't be able to open it on your computer, ibooks can currently only be read in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. How were you trying to get it to your phone, syncing it by selecting it on the iPhone's Books tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, or by dragging-and-dropping it from the Books part of your iTunes library over and onto the iPhone 'device' ? Another option is to try re-downloading it directly in the iBooks app on your iPhone via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in it (re-downloading).

Can you just try to re-install pse. If you have downloaded it from any source, try to download it again and then re-install it.

Safari downloads but can't open dowloaded file

I am a brand new Mac user. I have been reading posts and posts but can't seem to figure out my problem. I will try to download video content or download a software but after the file is downloaded, when trying to retrieve file an error msg keeps appearing "safari can't open because no program associated". In my preferences, its downloading to desktop and I have tried downloading to other applications ie quicktime (but says quicktime error reading files). I can't seem to open any downloads at all....for example i am downloading flash player for macs but i keep getting that safari error message, help??

you might need stuffit expander or maybe since safari is showng that message somehow maybe your primary installer got corrupt i would try an archive and install because that message is odd but first try to download stuffit if it wont download then somethings corrupt and if you call apple theyll just tell you to archive and install with a problem like this

I download but can't open CS6 Extended

I use a Windows 7 laptop. I purchased CS6 Extended Student edition a few days ago and was having problems obtaining the serial number. Once this was sorted I was told that I need to download the trial first. When I try and download the first file (Photoshop_13_LS16.7z) it downloads fully but says it can't be opened.
It then tells me that I can either use a program on my computer to download it or use one from the internet. I don't understand why it won't just open the file upon completion. I can't open the second file as I need the other file downloaded first. I am downloading from http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html which I was provided with.
I really need the software up and running for my university work, and this is really holding me up as I don't know what to do.

you need to download both files, the exe and the 7z. place them both in the same folder and when downloading of both is complete click (or double click) the exe, not the 7z.

Did you trash the prefs after updating to Yosemite? It is usually necessary.
Quit Elements.
Launch Finder and find the user Library by clicking the Go menu whilst holding down the Optn (alt) key (n.b. the library is hidden until you press the optn key) and inside the Library folder select the preferences folder. Then trash the following folder/files:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Settings
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

As you dont say what happens when you try to open it... I'm assuming you cannot find it.... which means you might be looking in the library for it and it will not be there..
1) In Logic's Prefs turn on all the advanced tools. Now Logic will work in full 'Logic Pro' mode with all features available... and not the cutdown 'Garageband Pro' mode..
2) Create a Software Instrument Track, unchecking Open Library... If you cannot see the Open Library check box click on Details...
3) Click on the Instrument Button for that track in the channel strip
4) Look for the AU Instrument section of the popup menu that will appear..
5) Find Spire listed there.. Click on it...

Just for the heck of it: click on HELP and PLUG INS and see if CAMERA RAW is listed.
* I can almost guarantee its not even listed* but if it is, whatever, don't worry yet*
Here are the directions again.
download latest plug in for camera raw (go to adobe) go to DOWNLOADS
(go to downloads and it should be the first download they have listed)
save on desk top
open
click on the 'file' for Adobe (should be first icon listed)
then you need to put THAT PLUG IN
into your NON 64 bit PS
(it should be listed under programs as Adobe Photo Shop CS4 and Adobe Photshop (64 bit)
Click on START

RIGHT CLICK ON PLUG IN
PUT PLUG IN ON DESK TOP *SAVE IT JUST IN CASE*

The download is a simple download, but if you put it in the wrong file, you can REALLY mess up your CS4 capabilites. which is why I specifically wanted to help you and walk you thru it step by step.

Bought new iworks suite this summer - can't open numbers...has a faded question mark over the icon

I bought new updated iworks suite this summer. I've opened and used pages, but when I tried to open the icon on Numbers on my dock it will not open. I only get options" and then can remove from dock. there is a faded question mark over the numbers icon. any help would be appreciated. thanks, K

Where are the applications stored on your HD ?
Keynote.app, Numbers.app and Pages.app must be located
in the folder Applications:iWork '09
What you see in the Dock are symbolic links (kind of aliases) to the applications.
It seems that for some reason the link between the Numbers symbolic link and the app is broken.
(1) check the locations of the applications and if they aren't in the correct ones, repair this oddity.
(2) If needed, uncheck the local menu item : Dock > Numbers > Options > Keep in the Dock
then drag the icon to the Desktop. You will get the Poof icon saying that the symlink is destroyed.
(3) Double click the Numbers.app icon to run the app.
(4) Now you will be able to check the local menu item : Dock > Numbers > Options > Keep in the Dock
so that the Numbers icon will remain in the dock when you quit the app.
