Bought music through iTunes on the iPhone, but music gone

I purchased an album ($7.99) from my iTunes app on my iPhone 3G before the iPhone update OS4. I then pluged my phone into the computer and did the update to OS4. Now, all my music is gone, and no where to be found on my iTunes on my computer.
To my surprise, my phone didn't have the tracks in purchased menu anywhere. The only record I have of the transaction is the receipt.
How can I get my music back?

I suppose I have an issue with their download policy. Buying songs entitles you to download once. It's up to you to back up your stuff. Not like lala.com (RIP) where purchased music remains in your account to play at will whenever, wherever you are.

Cannot transfer any contaent through itunes to the iphone

Guys can anyone please help me how to transfer content through itunes to iphone. I did follow all the steps on forums to do so but i got an error that "unable to read or write the memory of iphone" i am having 2.0.2 as FW and using itunes 8.

What do you mean "retrieve"?
If you mean previously purchased music, then you cannot, unless you are in the U.S. Then you can use the recently released icloud ( beta version).

No episodes (new or old) appear under any podcast when I am trying to download them through itunes on the iphone

When you the iphone, not the computer, when I open Itunes and click on podcasts, any podcast I choose doesn't list podcast episodes. When I search for a podcast then click on the icon all it shows is a link to reviews and "more from this provider". The list of episodes has disappeared. I've tried several different podcasts and they are all the same. Please help! Thank you very much for your time.
P.s. I have done a full restore through Itunes and it didn't fix the problem. Almost like a setting has gone wrong somewhere...

Can't drag and drop apps and ringtones from itunes into the iphone.

I'm sure it's something that I have to enable in itunes or the iphone, but I can't seem to drag and drop my apps or ringtones from itunes. This started when I got a replacement phone from my provider. I can't transfer them on my itunes. I get a block icon when I try to drag and drop. So the only way to get all the apps back is by re-downloading on the phone itself, but some apps are huge and I wouldn't want to do that. All the apps I backed up and even new ones I purchased can't seem to transfer. I tried deauthorizing and authorizing, re-downloading apps, syncing. So far nothing. Any tips?

"I have reviewed your email. I understand that you have questions related to rearranging the order of the apps on the printer. I know this can be frustrating, and I want you to know you're certainly valuable to us and I want to do everything possible to ensure your complete satisfaction. The following information should provide the answers you need:
1) Unfortunately when HP launched the new website (www.hpconnected.com) they did not include a method of rearranging the apps on the printer. They may include this feature in a future update, however as this time it is not available.
2) If you have made the upgrade from eprintcenter to HP Connected you do not have the option of returning. Eprintcenter is in the process of being eliminated and unfortunately retuning to the old site is not possible."
I hope <<S-O-O-N>> HP fixes this new website -- it's crazy to take away any controls like this from their customers and not either embellish them or at least leave them be.

You can only sync everything with your one syncing computer/iTunes library. Yu can:
- Make this your syncing computer by:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

That's usully symptomatic of a phone that was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it.

In the absence of any replies, I'd forgotten that I'd posted here, but I did manage to sort out the problem eventually.
I forget all the steps involved, and possibly some which may be pertinent, but in essence somewhere in the iCloud signup procedure I'd clicked something that told Address Book to upload to the Cloud, and otherwise remain invisible on the Mac. Tinkering with the Address Book preference settings eventually restored the Contacts list to my iPhone.
