Bought my macbook pro 2 days ago and theres already a slight black mark next to the track pad?
how the **** does this even happen? the mark is where my palm usually is when im typing. it really shouldnt bother me but considering i spent a grand and ive had it for 2 days it annoys me. is there any way to get it out? I can post a picture if necessary. Also, how do i tell if i have mountain lion?

I just bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago and have noticed that when I go to start it up, it takes longer to power up than when I first bought it. Does anyone know why this may be and of a fix for it?
Hi. It could be that the more you pile on the HD, the longer it will take to boot. When I first bought my MBP, it took maybe 30 seconds. But as I began putting more content on the HD, it seemed to take a bit longer to boot. You may also want to consider putting your MBP in sleep mode. That's what I do with mine and it doesn't hurt at all as far as I can tell.

When they told me about it I just thought it had a better display and decided it didn't bother me if the resolution was better, not knowing that it was thinner, has a HDMI connection, etc.

Absolutely, like I say personal Choice. I believe from remarks in here that the SSD boots up on Mavericks in something like 10 seconds whereas mine takes even longer to boot than in Mountain Lion. But then we are advised to use sleep over boot as much as possible. My problem is I have 300GB of stuff and getting bigger, and when I bought mine the biggest SSD was 250 I think. For me the choice of replaceable RAM vs soldered-in RAM was a clincher. -

I am having a problem with the jack in for the headphones. I have bought it brand new from a local authorised apple store about 10 days ago. As soon as I plugged in my headphones and tried them, the sound was coming out of one side of the headphone and the plug inside my macbook pro was loose. When i tried moving it the sound was coming out of the device. What can I do?

Luckily I reinstalled the software and the problem just disappeared , and now for all those facing the same problem after reinstalling mountain lion don't update to 10.8.1 , cause only after that update earlier was when the problem started showing up , along with that don't reinstall lion using your recovery on your harddrive it takes 23 hours to install because it downloads the software first and then does all the installation so just download the app for mountain lion from the AppStore first and then make a bootable USB installation disk out of it , I'm sure you'll find a tutorial on google on how to make a recovery USB out of it , as for your data and stuff I moved all my stuff to an external hard drive and then performed a reinstall I recommend you do the same . The steps are simple after making the USB insert it and then reboot when the computer turns itself on press the alt/option key and then their will be a list of options there you will see your mt lion USB boot into it , select disk utility and then your Macintosh HD , WARNING IN THIS STEP YOU WILL ERASE YOUR HARD DRIVE COMPLETELY MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP ALL YOU DATA BEFORE PERFORMING THIS STEP I WON'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, so choose your drive , go to the erase tab choose Mac os extended journaled usually the first option from the drop down menu and name it Macintosh HD again click on erase and then after thats done close the utility , now select the option to install mt lions copy from the first menu and then chose your Macintosh HD that we erased eirlier and install, it takes about 20-40 mins depending on your Mac and then viola the problem will disappear , well at least it did for me . We have a MacBook Pro and it is usually quiet, but it sits in a stand to allow air under the bottom.
Just my opinion, but based on experience.
You are still eligible to purchase the longer term AppleCare warranty I think (3 years if my memory is correct). While it is an expense that you may never need, in my opinion, it is cheap insurance based on the cost to repair computers. I buy it and more than once it has paid for itself many times over. Not that Apple products are bad, but electronics do weird things at times. -

You don't download QuickTime Pro directly; you download QuickTime 7 and apply the code you bought to it.

Just make sure you Sync ALL your important Info... Contacts... Music... Etc... to your Computer...
and then do a Restore as New...

1) When entering through Safary to Google Images and tap on each one of them they do not enlarge nor I am able by click on them to enter into their connected website
2) When I receive an e-mail with images I cannot easily save them in my gallery. It needs more than 10 tabs to the window "save this image" or "save all 3 images" and if I am lucky it saves one image. This is very frustrating, I loose a lot of time trying and affects my job.
