Bought my Macbook Pro on august 14, 2012. Why is the warranty expired before that date?
Bought it from an authorized reseller, and have proof of purchase. Will this make my warranty still valid til august 14 2013? Can i still buy the extended Apple care? Cuase my Macbook just died on me

It says it has expired, i will contact the reseller when i go home from work. But still, i have all my proofs of purchase, shouldn´t that be enough to validate my warranty at an Apple store?
Or should i contact Apple for that matter.

I bought my macbook pro on August 2011 at an apple store, with the Intel i7. However mirrorring in not working with two of my Apple TVs. These Apple TVs are 2nd and 3rd generation loaded with the latest software. This is one instance where you'll curse yourself for not having bought the AppleCare Warranty extension and gotten the board for free.
Anyway, get your model number handy and go look up the parts in www.powerbookmedic.com or www.ifixit.com amongst other places. They've also have videos or photo pictorials on how to do the replacement. Not altogether trivial, be sure to spread the adequate amount of thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, else you'll fry the new board in short order again. -

i buy it directly from the apple store.Might be a discount voucher near-term, to match up with past programs. That would positively scream "epic win" in addition to being a really nice gesture by Apple. But this is an educated guess.
We still have to find out how 10.4 and 10.5 holdouts from late '06-mid '09 (and y'all know who y'all are, ladies and gents) are going to get Lion based on the only system requirement of a 64-bit CPU. I suspect a Mac Box Set refresh would be in order for this task.
Also: how would one reinstall Lion "clean" if, say, the hard disk flips out or one just doesn't want excess baggage gumming up his machine? Recovery partitions assume the worst won't happen.
Unfortunately, this also leaves the earlier '06 Macs on life support and effectively kills off all prior Macs with PowerPC chips, so to anybody with a Core Duo or G-series chip, Apple wants you upgrading hardware--NOW!

You do not need to "sign up" for downloading updates. Just run Software Update and let it access them directly thru the App Store.

Hey, this is my first "post" here on Apple discussions.
Since i bought my Macbook pro in October 2011, my macbook has been given for servicing many times. We've always used the Authorised Service centre here in Singapore (QCD Technologies), and I can swear I have never taken my laptop to a third party. However, when I gave my laptop in for servicing yesterday because it wasn't booting up and instead beeped 3 times every time I tried to switch it on (suggesting faulty RAM), they told me that they can't work on the laptop until we talk to Apple because they claim that the RAM installed is not original (suggesting that we used a 3rd party for my macbook's repair). Needless to say we were extremely appalled because we have never consulted a 3rd party, and this makes it extremely clear to us that either QCD or Apple slipped up in their servicing/production without accounting for changing the RAM or are simply lying. If they don't have a log for it, then we know they made a mistake, however the problem is they can easily use this as an excuse to evade costs on their part.
Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do from here on? I need my laptop for college quite urgently and It's very convenient that Apple is doing this just 1 month before my warranty after extending it, expires finally.Have you taken the computer to the same repair place every time it was repaired? If so, suggest to them that they must have installed third party RAM. And, another fact to consider: Apple does not manufacture RAM - it always uses third party RAM. They do change suppliers, so different machines may have different brands of RAM. And, as mentioned: installing RAM does not void your warranty - you may want to point that out to the repair place as well. Although, to be fair, a senior Applecare rep once told me to reinstall the original RAM before sending in the machine for repair so no one could possibly blame the problems on third party RAM.
You can easily install RAM yourself; use one/both of the links provided by leroydouglas to purchase the correct RAM as three beeps at startup usually mean there is a problem with the RAM. -
i tried to install windows 7 through the Boot Camp provision on my MacBook Pro which was successful but cant have access to Apple operating system its booting from windows only

I bought a macbook pro today, but it doesn't have the free upgrade to os x mountain lion?
Initially it showed the upgrade in the app store, but now it's not showing up. I've tried going to the "up to date" apple page but that's not working either. Any other way I can get it?

Also, check the Service and Suport Coverage on the Apple site. See if the MB has been registered and if so, the date. -

I have a macbook pro with retina (late 2012) what is the best monitor for work?
I would like to purchase a monitor to connect to my laptop with good resolution that will be better for my eyes. Do you think that I will expirience problems If I get a 4K monitor and Ill run it with full resolution @30hz? i do not use any videos in my work or gaming. I am a commercial real estate broker. It's really frustrating cause I'm a graphic designer, and this is afecting my work so much, I recently changed to mac, because "it's so much better" but now i'm starting to think otherwise.
