Bought new charger: Says it charging for a second then goes away.

I just got a new charger for my laptop after my last one broke and I plug it in and it says it is charging for a second then the charging icon goes away like its not working anymore? I have no idea what to do because I am sure the same will happen if I bought another charger.

Welcome to the HP Forums! Was the original charger doing the same thing as the new one? It could be the battery that is causing the problem. Start with a Hard Reset and if that doesn't work then we will run a hardware test on the battery. For that I will need your operating system and your product number, please.

I have used FF for years. Yesterday I could not get it to open. The clock comes on for a second then goes off. IE works OK. I uninstalled and reinstalled FF

HP2509 Stays on for 1 second then goes to sleep

I can repeat this over and over again by turning off and then back on. Or changing video settings from the computer. Anything that I'd normally do to wake it up still works but then it goes back to sleep in one second.
I think this happened a year ago and it had to do with the auto power off settings in the OSD set to like 1 or 2 seconds. I cant remember how i fixed it for the life of me. But the screen wont even stay on long enough to get to the OSD.
It doesn't matter if the computer is attached or any other video source... or none at all. The symptom is the same regardless.
Is there a factory reset that doesn't require the OSD? I unplugged and held power button for 90 seconds.... nada. PLEASE HELP!!

Okay - solved my own problem. Here's how in case anyone else runs into this...
The monitor was set to go to sleep in 3 seconds. Don't know how but it's the second time it fell into that setting.
That means that you have 3 second window to get to the factory reset through the OSD. It takes a few tries but you just have to learn the sequence "MENU UP UP UP OK UP OK" and do it in 3 seconds. Worked like a charm.
Hopefully this will help someone... but since I couldn't find anyone else with the same issue, probably not.

i bought my daughters ipod shuffle 4th gen last week for xmas. set them all up easily etc and wrapped them for xmas. kids opened them up for xmas played them most of the day so i thought i would charge them both overnight on the computer. pc went into sleep mode which i didnt realise wouldnt charge them. so in the morning they were flat so i charged them on the pc but 1 didnt seem to take any charge while the other worked perfectly. treid to charge it all night long last night using a power point charger and still this morning it displays the red light and wont show up in itunes or my computer. apple support havent rang me yet

Restored iphone but apps pop up for a second then go away

I keep trying to download apps but once i download and install them i click on them the first screen appears then disappears. I restored my phone and resynced without apps, but will still not allow me to run new apps

There have been a number of threads on this over the past few weeks. It looks like this is becomming a more common problem.
The way to fix it (temporarily at least) is to reinstall an App. A backup and restore may work, but it is bit more drastic... Try the repurchase an app method first.

Audio plays for a second then goes dead

It doesn't happen every time, but often, when I move the playhead to part of the file (in waveform editor or in a multitrack project) I only get a second or two of audio.
The playhead continues to move, but I don't get any further audio and the meters don't show anything either.
I have 10.4.3. Dual 800 Quicksilver (the first Quicksilver). I'm listening to the audio through the digital audio port (not an optical port - the powered port that they used for those Harmon Kardon speakers. It's not even actually digital, they just call it that for some reason). Speakers are plugged directly into the computer with this breakout cable: http://www.griffintechnology.com/archive/audio/prospeaker.html I don't think that is my problem, but thought I would provide the information just in case (the meters in Soundtrack go dead as well, which indicates to me that this is a software issue of some sort)

I am having the same issue. I've tried connecting a variety of speakers including headphones to the Airport Express 802.11n with all the latest and greatest firmware updates. Same result with all. I've tried switching back and forth from Computer to Airport Exress and even Multiple Speakers. Computer output is fine even with Multiple Speakers. Nothing but a blip via Airport Express. My old Airport Express 802.11b/g worked fine in this exact configuration before it died. This replacement Airport Express 802.11n isn't showing me the love.

I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.

Apps flash on for a second then close again

When I click on the app icon, they flash for a second then go away. I can still get Internet and my email.

Yeah, it was purchased in August 2008. I'm not really sure what a charge cycle is, but I do plug it in and unplug it a lot to a power source. Mainly because I keep my computer on most of the time (either on or on sleep). So between taking it to classes and stuff, I'll recharge in between and when it's really low, otherwise I run it off the battery most of the time.

Restart your phone,hold the home button and the off button down till the apple symbol comes up. If that doesnt fix it , you need to do a restore in itunes by connecting to itunes , click on your phones name to the left, then click restore in the center of the screen and restore from backup.
