Bought photoshop elements 12, serial expired

hello,
i have bought PS Elements 12 in november on my PC. Now i want to install it on my mac but it doesn't recognise the serial number.
i know i can install it onto 2 machines, do you know why it does that and how can i resolve this?

I get to the screen where I can input my serial number and it says it is invalid. in fact the number on the box and the receipt which also has the serial number on it match perfectly but they seem to be one number too long than what can be inputed. If you bought a boxed product then the serial number should be inside the box in the CD sleeve (this is exactly 24 characters long - 6 x 4). See this picture:
If, on the other hand, you have an insert in the box rather than a serial number then you have what is called a Redemption Code. See this picture:
If this is the case then you need to redeem your code for a real serial number:

If none of the above then clearly there isn't a real solution.

I bought Photoshop Elements but it tells my trial has expired !

I just bought Photoshop Elements 12. I installed it but had to reinstall it. Now I am unable to use the Editor because it says Your trial has expired !!!

What operating system are you running on?
When you installed it the second time, did you enter the serial number and logged in with your Adobe ID?
Do not log out as this deactivates that installation in Elements 12.

I bought Photoshop Elements 12 and I cannot install it..It says invalid serial number and says invalid Redemption Code when I try that way. I need the program and because I have opened the box it can't be returned to the store. I have over $100 tied up in this product that I can't use. Someone said install the free trial version...Ok, I did...but it is just a 30 day trial and I want the full version of the product I paid for!! So how do I get a valid serial number? The serial number on the box and the redemption code card both come up as invalid. Not a very happy customer right now!!

My guess is that you won't be able to do much if you threw away the serial number before using it. The serial number will not have been externally visible on the box though... doing that would make it available for use by anyone who sees the box in any store.

If you remain unable to locate the serial number you might need to head back to wherever you purchased the product to confirm whether or not you might have thrown out the serial number or if it could even possibly have never been provided.

First of all, are you sure it's a serial number? PSE serial numbers are 24 digits beginning with 1057. Anything else will be a redemption code:

you need your serial number. you used your redemption number to redeem your serial number.

Theoretically you can use the itunes version to qualify for adobe's upgrade discount, but that's it. All download versions are single platform. And in many countries the street price of the full version of PSE is less than adobe's upgrade price, so it's usually not worth pursuing that. However, if you wish to, I'm told you use your apple ID as your serial number when asked. I don't know anyone who's done this, so I don't know how well it really works.

A Photoshop Elements license is good for both Mac and Windows so it should be just a matter of downloading the Mac version and using your current serial number to activate it.
