Bought printer on ebay now getting emails from HP Support asking me to return

Hi - I am not sure if anyone can help or has had a simillar situation but I bought a printer from Ebay in good faith and paid by PayPal. It came without a cable or cartridges but this was OK as it was to replace an old HP printer of mine that had both. It arrived in good condition and I was happy with it. Now I am receiving threatening emails supposedly from HP Support claiming that the printer was sent as a replacement for a defective device that I must return or I will be invoiced. Clearly this is some sort of scam but the Ebay seller is still selling a lot of these and has a high rating and is not responding to my emails. I have contacted Ebay about this as well. Any other advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I am sorry this happened to you.
I sounds like the communication you are receiving claims you are in the possession of property that belongs to someone else -- or did belong to someone other than the person from whom you purchased the item.
You cannot take care of that sort of problem here, on a Community Forum.
You have to contact HP Technical Support.
You appear be the victim of Fraud:  You might be either the direct victim of having been duped by purchasing the property in the first place OR you may be the victim of cybercrime -- someone is claiming that you owe them money that you do NOT owe.
You should contact HP to see what HP says about the problem and then decide what to do based on that conversation.

  • I keep getting emails from Apple support about changing my password.

I keep getting emails from apple saying someone is trying to reset my password when I have not done such a thing. A couple days ago after the 4th email I decided to reset it myself just incase. Now im still getting a email from apple stating that someone is trying to reset it.

Apple do send out an email if you change your password that is genuine
You could change the password to see if the emails are genuine or phishing by getting a genuine email from Apple
No way otherwise if you cannot tell if they are genuine or otherwise

  • How do i quit getting emails from the support discussions......

please help. everytime a post comes in i get another email. i need it to stop. it's driving me nuts....

    OneAHis,
There is 3 sections to subscriptions.
Subscriptions to topics, subscriptions for categories, and subscriptions to individual users.
You can also set how often you get emails under "My Settings"
Also in Mac OS X 10.5 you can mark an RSS feed to show up in Mail, those aren't actually emailed.
    Hope this helps,

If I have two email accounts, one personal hotmail account and one MS Exchange work account on my iPhone 4s, How can I setup individual notifications for each account? Fore example, if I get a work email, I want to hear a DING, DING....If I get a personal email, I want to hear a BEEP, BEEP. Right now, any email from any account has the same notification. I want work incoming email notification to be different than personal incoming notification. The only semi-workaround I've seen is just disable any notification for the Hotmail account, so only work emails would notify. But then I don't know when I get a personal email. Even the lowely Blackberry Torch 9800 has this feature..not iPhone 4s??
    Thanks

Sorry you get only one notification sound for all email accounts.  you can send a suggestion to apple here http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Button or keystroke to get email from just one account?

To help filter out spam more (Apple Mail's junk filtering, SpamSieve and my provider's SpamAssassin just don't seem to be up to the task any more) I'm trying to retrieve all my email via Gmail and then POP download from Gmail. Gmail's spam filter seems to be the best so far.
I have 4 email accounts in Apple Mail, and I don't want to disable them all, because I want to be able to send from those accounts, refer to the old mailboxes, etc.
The Get mail button, though, retrieves from all the POP accounts, which defeats the purpose of having Gmail retrieve my POP email for me from those accounts, if I check email all the time, which I do.
Unchecking the "include this account when checking email automatically" doesn't help because I check for mail manually.
So I was wondering - is there a way of putting the menu item "get email from Gmail" onto the menu bar? Or if that is not possible, is it possible to make a keystroke just to check Gmail mail?
    Thanks!
    doug

I had CMD+G set to check my Gmail POP account. It's been working fine for several days now, ever since I set it. But suddenly the keystroke setting has disappeared from the Mail menu.
It's still in the keyboard shortcut preference panel.
I tried setting it to something else and restarting Mail, but the shortcut doesn't appear anymore!
Any idea what happened and what I need to do so I can set the shortcut again?
    Thanks,
    doug

  • Imessage gets email from account not associated with it.

iMessage gets email from my exchange email account I do not want.  This is not my apple id, nor is it associated with my imessage or facetime.  Nothing stops the problem. There has never been any email associated with my imessage account.  I added then deleted my apple id association from the iphone iMessage account leaving nothing but the phone number.  Turned off phone and restarted.  No help.
I have upgraded to ios 6.  It happened it both operating systems and has gone on since I bought the phone 1 year ago.
There are 5 email accounts including the culprit exchange account on my iPhone.  Only the exchange account ends up in iMessage.
I deleted the Exchange email account, then restarted the phone, then left it for 4 hours.  Restarted the phone.  Readded the exchange account.  It stayed clean for 1 hour then the flood of exchange email started.
Even with iMessage turned off the email arrives as a text as if by magic.  I checked my bill and the email "is still being sent by iMessage, even when its off!", as there is no sms charge as should be when iMessage is turned off.
This application has gone rogue on me and no one else I know has this problem.  My work email is exchange and I get over 100 a day.  Its a flood.  Plus text messages must be deleted one at a time!
How do I stop the monster.
    Help.

I did not lose my contacts but my carrier support could not confirm prior to executing the above steps.
I believe the reason your carrier is handing off to Blackberry on this is because the Blackberry ID is managed by Blackberry, not the carrier (I am not 100% on this). As such, they can't authenticate the BBID. That can be handled directly by the user here: http://ca.blackberry.com/bbid.html. Permission issues are always a pain.
IF BBM won't behave following the solution that worked for me, I would call your carrier one more time and ask them to escalate the service tag to Blackberry. Without the service tag, its tough to get action. This allows the carrier to hand you off and creates the support trail needed for effective resolution. Push to get the service tag.
In my experience on this, there was enough "grey area" for all support techs involved that Blackberry would be well suited to increase the knowledge base/training/support  to provide a smoother resolution. When support tells the user that the main messaging platform, for the top end device, won't function and "there is nothing we can do about it", I believe the user has not been serviced appropriately.

The reason, I included the annotation that I'd upgraded my Itunes, (On my Computer) is B/C in many forums - the very first question, *HELPERS* ask, is. "Do you have the latest version of Itunes downloaded on your computer." I wanted to knock out any obvious replies.
Now-  "DO YOU have any idea,"... how your UNHELPFUL remarks, do absolutely nothing but hurt others that might not have the EXPERIENCE you have? How do you expect people to know things without asking questions? Whew! RUDE!!

I assume that though your signature says you are running 10.4.8 you are actually running Lion or Mountain Lion? If so please amend the signature to prevent confusion.
Go to System Preferences>iCloud and uncheck Mail in the list there: then re-check it. This should set Mail up again to access the account. If this doesn't work, sign out completely, reboot, then sign back in again. You iCloud data will disappear from your Mac but reappear when you sign back in.

  • I have installed Mountain Lion 10.8.2 but still cannot get email from my work exchange account. I'd appreciate any help.  Thank you.

I have installed Mountain Lion 10.8.2 but still cannot get email from my work exchange account. I'd appreciate any help.  Thank you.

You can go to the Apple online store and purcahse a copy of Mountain Lion.  This will give you a redemption code, which you can use to download Mountain Lion from the App Store.  Unfortuantely, I'm not aware of any other way to legally purchase it.  I have never seen Apple release Muontain Lion on DVD.
In terms of Apple Service, they just need the serial number of the machine to check the purcahse date.  It is usually correct, to within a few weeks.  A quick Google search should give you the correct number to dial.
    I hope this helps.

I would delete the account and try to re-enter it. Also, you have to let your firm's IT department know that you want to sync work email on your personal devices before they actually work.

  • Anybody had an issues with mail since upgrading to mountain lion? Can't get emails from one account, tried deleting and recreating but to no avail. Set up a new user and it works fine. Macbook pro 13" mid 2010 model.

  • Why am I getting Emails from Apple in turkish to an Email-address that isn't used for my Apple ID anymore ?

Hi everybody, I already apologize if this isn't the right community for my problem. This whole thing is very confusing  so I really hope someone can help me
I used Gmail as my official email account and it was also the Email address for my Apple-ID (for many, many years..)
Strangely, a few months ago, I got an Email from Apple saying that my Apple-ID was being used for Imessage and Facetime on other devices (in Turkey?). I googled it and found out that it might be a fishing mail so I quickly changed my password and also the Email-adress for my Apple.ID – which means that the Gmail-account was not longer in use for Apple anymore.
But here's the problem :  I still get Emails from Apple (in Turkish) from time to time to my Gmail- account. They don't seem to be fishing Emails, though.  Another odd thing about that is, that the mails I receive at Gmail don't seem to be addressed to my CORRECT email-address.
While my adress looks like „[email protected]“ the Itunes mails I receive are addressed to '[email protected]“ .  I hope you know what I mean. There is no point between the names in my real address.
What could this be and how can I solve this problem ? It's really freaking me out.
    Thanks,
    D.
