Bought songs on another computer..can I get them on my home PC?

I was bored at school one day, so I decided to buy some music at the music store..I did not have the cable hook up, so I couldn't put it back on my iPod..So now I went to my account, and looked in my purchased music folder..but I can't find the music that I bought at school, is there anyway to get it back?

You'll need to go back to that computer and look in the user's Music -> iTunes folder and see if the tracks are still there. If they are, you can copy them to removable media and take them home. If your school erases the systems, and has done so since you downloaded the tracks, then your tracks are gone and you'll have to buy them again.
I advise never buying from any download music store using any sort of public computer. All fully legal download music stores carrying major-label content have copy protection that by some means registers tracks to the computer used for download, so using a public/lab computer just make things far too complicated.

  • Bought songs on another computer

I bought many songs from another computer while in vacation in the US (I bought my ipod there).
Back in france, I cannot make my songs appear in my library, even if my apple account shows all the songs I bought. What should I do and am I abble to buy new songs?
    thanks

You should have burned a CD of the songs you purchased on the other computer. If it's a friend or family member, I'd ask them if the songs are still on their computer and if they'll burn you a CD with copies. That's always been the easiest way.
But I believe with later-generation iPods you can also download purchased music from your iPod to your computer, but I believe that requires that the computer you purchased the music on be registered as one of the five computers you're allowed to share music on.

  • All my burnt songs ahve gone. how can i get them back?

I burnt nearly 1000 songs to my iTunes account to make space in house, but since last week they are no longer in my library. how can I get them back as I no longer have the cd's.

First it would be helpful to get more info. Do you keep your music in the default location inside the iTunes folder? Do you use iTunes to keep it organized? Do you have any type of backup of either the iTunes Library files or your entire Music folder? Before reinstalling anything, check that your actual music files are still there. Go to your_homefolder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music and I am pretty sure that all your files are still there. iTunes keeps its library file on the root level of the iTunes folder. It is either corrupted or you somehow created a new one which subsequently is empty. Hold down the option while you click on iTunes, then choose "existing library" and browse to your iTunes folder and select the iTunes Library file and see what happens. Report back if your iTunes Library file is corrupt.

  • All songs are gone.  Can I get them back?

Hey everyone! O.K. My step-daughter was here for the summer, She got a nano for her b-day and I put all of my songs on her iPod nano. Then she went back to her Mom's and she pluged it into her friends computer(which had iTunes but no songs). A ballon poped up that asked if she wanted to update to new library and she ticked yes. So now, of course, all of her songs are gone. Does anyone know if we can get them back without using my computer(She's 4 hours away)? Please Help!

If those songs originally on the iPod were overwritten with new songs, it's probably a lost cause.

  • Photos on ATV only copies due to dead HD on computer can I get them back?

well my time machine also has lost the photos but I Can still see them as a slide show on my apple TV any way to get them back? and if I have to pull the drive from the ATV to do this can I replace it with something a lot larger? 31 gig available is not much with HD content is there a website that details this process and sells the larger drives unit is long out of warranty
also I have a lot of audible.com books on my itunes on my laptop but only the books I bought on CDs and ripped on to itunes can be seen/played on my old Apple TV none of the stuff bought and DL from audible more than 20 days worth bought over the last 10 years
this is an early ATV updated to the 3,0 software

Thanks looks simple enough can I just copy the contents of the original tiny drive on to one of those 250 gig 2 1/2 inch drives and slap that back into the ATV to get my other problem fixed?
Th fact that audible.com content on itunes can only be used on a full computer and not on an ATV is "working as intended and is imposed by them on Apple as part of their DRM contracts... ARG I have spent several hundred $$$ on thes files and the work on computer itunes and on iPods but that is all
I Hate the way DRM treats me as crook and I have never DL a file that I did nit have the right to use

  • I have an iphone 4 and I have just upgraded to iOS 5. I have lost my progress bar and song repeat function, how can I get them back?

I have an iphone 4 and I have just upgraded to iOS 5. Unlike some people, I have not really had any problems but I am really annoyed with the new music feature. I have lost my progress bar abd song repeat function. Does anyone know how I can get them back?

Glad to hear it all works for you.
For future reference, if your iPhone misbehaves, always try a Reset. It's painless and often solves the problem.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).
    Enjoy.

  • Updated ipod, wiped out songs, and now I can't get them back on to to it

I updated my daughters ipod nano, not knowing that it would wipe out all her songs. Now we are trying to get them back on from her library and it only copies 1 song from her 79 and it does not give us the option to send them to it.
    Please Help !!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
When the iPod is connected to the computer and in iTunes go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab. Make sure it is set to automatically update all songs and playlists. Click OK.
If that doesn't work, try restoring the iPod...
    Restore the iPod
Now try putting the songs on.
Also, are the songs that are not transferring purchased (from the iTunes Music Store)?

  • My iphone 4 randomly deleted all my sms messages but i have back it up on my computer can i get them back?

my phone deleted all my messages and i was wondering if i could get them back?

If you backed up to your computer recently (should do this automatically when you sync, unless you disabled it), then you can restore the backup. Not really worth it, unless you've got a show stopper SMS message.

  • Bought songs on one computer, want to use them on another

I used my daughter's account to download songs onto my PC laptop.  I tried to put those songs on my daughter's ipod nano, but the nano is Macintosh formatted so the PC couldn't access it.  I went to my iMac, logged into my daughter's account and went to re-download the album, thinking it would just let let me download again for free, but it's giving no indication that it will do that.  I go to buy and it warns me that I will be charged for the download.  In my account's "Purchase History" it shows that I bought this album yesterday.  So what gives?  The Imac is an authorized computer for this iPod.
I'm using a Snow Leopard iMac and the old kind of iPod nano that's tall and thin and can't play videos.

Yes, I have a problem overall.  When I asked where the problem was I was referring to the suggestion that my Mac-formatted iPod had to be restored in order to work with my iMac.  I was asking what problem would necessitate that restoration.
The fact that the iPod doesn't work on the PC is fine.  I don't care.  I just mentioned it to explain the entire process.  The real issue is my inability to download music I've already purchased it without paying a second time.
I have logged in to my daughter's account, clicked on PURCHASED and selected CHECK FOR AVAILABLE DOWNLOADS.  When I do that it tells me ALL PURCHASES HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADED FOR THIS ACCOUNT.
I see no NOT ON THIS COMPUTER anywhere, and I'm assuming you meant to say  left side as opposed to 'right hand', is that correct?
    _UPDATE_
As I was typing that last sentence, I checked my iTunes to double check there was nothing on the right side.  I saw the tab marked DOWNLOAD PREVIOUS PURCHASES.  I'd never noticed that before.  Boom, that did it.  So the answer is click on PURCHASED and then DOWNLOAD PREVIOUS PURCHASES in the bottom right corner.
