Bought the extreme then realized my 1TB drive only has firewire connections

How can I work around this issue? I want to hook up my 1TB drive to my new extreme but don't see how I can do it! Why has firewire fallen by the wayside these days anyway?
The lacie does have USB2, but that isn't helping me. HELP!!!

Apple TV only supports HDMI. It doesn't sound like it is an HDTV, even if you use an adapter there is no guarantee it would work and even then you would not be able to watch HDCP content (i.e. iTunes, Netflix etc).
If the TV is not widescreen and/or doesn't support at least 720P you will also have issues around that.

Sign out from Creative Cloud and sign in again using email ID using which you had purcahsed subscription:

Then launch CC apps which is asking for serial number and check.
Still asks for serial number check the hosts file for Adobe entries , if present remove it and try to activate.
1) Right click on the Finder icon on dock and select "Go-To Folder" option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below mentioned command and then hit 'Return' key.

3) It will open the etc folder, please look for file named "hosts" and copy the same to Desktop screen.it
4)Double click on Hosts file , it will open it with TextEdit, If present Delete Adobe entries present inside Hosts file like 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com.......etc
5)Copy and paste the Hosts file back to "Etc" folder.
When asked Authenticate with your Mac password.
Make sure to select "Replace" option when prompted.

I have the ipod touch 64 gig and it only has 59 gigs available

i originally had the 32 gig itouch and it only had just under 30 gigs avaiable. but i exchanged it for the 64 gig version and yet it only has 59 gigs avaiable. why are 5 gigs remaining since its obviously not due to software or anything. seems like a big rip-off with nearly 10% of the memory missing.

so in other words apple purposly misleads cunsumers?? one would assume that if you purchased something with 64 gigs of memory the "true" storage space would be something nearing 64 gigs. then minus whats needed for the OS. We're not talking about a 500 gig harddrive where a little space loss doesnt matter much (though it is still rediculous) if apple knows that there is only going to be 59 gigs available to the consumer then advertising 64 gigs is fraud. it should be advertised as 59 gigs and priced accordingly. seems to me that maybe they are trying to save some money by cutting corners, im just surprised this hasnt become a massive issue. 64 gigs is a pittling amount of space but theres no choice as they dont have a larger size. but to then suddenly say well thats not what you actually get and lop off 5 gigs for NOTHING. 1 or 2gig for the sake of the OS i could understand completely but 5 gigs for absolutly no reason is just plain stupid.
Again this is just me but a company that knows its customers are not going to get what they are advertising is just plain wrong.

It seems that it's iOS 6.1.3 which is the case of most public complaints on apple iPhone products. Not even 3 weeks after I got the phone replaced, it is doing it again, so I suspect I'm just going to get a replacement again? Unfortunately I only have until 5th of july 2013 until my 1 year warranty is up. After that, any issue I have, I have to purchase apple care. People are expecting this problem to be fixed but I don't see it being solved any time soon. The issue with the Airport Express (or any of the Apple routers) is that you need the Airport Utility to configure it. Airport Utility works on OSX and Windows, but not on the iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch.) It will work, if you can preconfigure the Airport correctly ahead of time, but you'd be stuck if you did need to reconfigure while at the hotel.
You can use most any other router that is configured with a web page, which means you have a chance of configuring with Safari on the iPad. If you want something somewhat portable, I use a "travel router" made by D-Link. The current model is the DAP-1350. Other companies make similar travel routers, but I have no experience with the others.

Why is a number appended to the volume name on external hard drive, only in path?

Last week I replaced a failing external drive. Using Disk Utility I partitioned it into two volumes, named them CCC and Warehouse (Warehouse is the problem). I had never had any volumes named Warehouse previously. In Finder the name shows correctly, until I click "Get Info", where the name is shown as Warehouse 1. All of the files on Warehouse show their paths as /Volumes/Warehouse 1. I don't know when the " 1" was appended to the name, or how it happened. It's screwing up my applications that write to or from the volume, the path is wrong. When I'm in Warehouse's "Get Info" I try to change the name back to Warehouse, but it immediately goes back to Warehouse 1. I copied everything off the drive, repartioned using the same names, and still have the problem. I notice if I change the name to something totally different, like "Fish", I don't get that problem. I would prefer to keep the name Warehouse though, if possible.

I have noticed that the system can "hold onto" a drive name when there's a disconnect from the external volume.
Try this. Eject your external drive. Go into Terminal, and type
Cd /Volumes
Do you see a phantom "Warehouse" volume still there? If so, navigate into it, make sure there are no files you might want to keep (copy them elsewhere if so), then navigate out and use
sudo rm -rf /Volumes/Warehouse
See if that fixes it.

Should I return the drive? I am a bit scared because my old drive failed and this was to be a replacement.

"Pre-Fail" is a type of statistic collected under SMART, it does not imply the drive is failing.
You should check the "man" page at http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/man/smartctl.8.html#index to see further details.
Since the drive has been up for only 19 hours, it should work well. The OWC warranty is https://eshop.macsales.com/service/warranty_info.cfm.
If it is a very old drive, but has been recently put in service, it should still provide good service. OWC is usually very good about warranty. You should maintain good backups for critical data, including an on-site and off-site backup, if you can.

Why do the folders on my external sparse drive only open in icon view?

Even though I select list view, the next time I open a folder it is always in icon view. The "view option" in the View pulldown menu only shows a box for Always open in icon view and the "Use as Defaults" box is greyed out. This problem does not exist on my iMac internal drive, only on the external drive on which I have created a sparse image for security purposes.

I followed exactly what you advised, and it all worked. I did convert the files first that were .AVI ---> .MP4 (the audio and video came out beautifully when viewed). I organized my files around a bit, and then I went into Itunes---> Preferences---> Advanced---> Changed where I want to grab my movies from. It keep all my previous music, tv, movies, podcasts files that I had in ITunes, and just "added" the new content without disrupting anything in my Itunes at all. I LOVED IT...so simple in the end.
The files did take a while to convert, but I only had to do the ones that I had that were labeled ".AVI". The program, HAND BRAKE, allowed me to set up a "batch" and I had them converting during the afternoon and into the evening.

Since whenever I open my Itunes, all the movies display well, and so my APPLE TV can now view all my "content" in Itunes. I thought I was going to have to return that APPLE TV since I couldn't figure a way around it, and all in all, it wasn't all that bad of a process to convert and then change file location in preferences.

Flash drive only mounts when connected through USB hub

I have a PNY 32gb USB 2.0 flash drive, when trying to connect the drive directly to my Mid 2012 MBP (specs attached) the drive never mounts, doesn't list in diskutil as an unmounted drive either, however when I plug the drive into a Micro Innovations USB Hub (old ~ 2002) the drive mounts (albeit slowly).
On my iMac (Mid 2010 I7) the drive works perfectly in the machine or through Apple USB Keyboard.
Any help?

Itunes recognizes my ipod touch, but my computer still thinks it's a camera (and the drive only has pictures as a result; no music).

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7, and wanted to transfer my music from my old laptop onto it. Itunes on my new laptop would only let me transfer purchases, and not music that I got from CDs. So, seeing as I didn't have any sort of storage device handy to back up my old itunes library onto, I decided to just transfer my music straight from my ipod touch to my new laptop. I had done this many times before both for myself and for friends, so I was familiar with the process. What you do is you make sure that hidden files can be viewed, and you select "manually manage music..etc" in itunes so your device shows up as its own drive in My Computer. Then you click on that and you should find your music folders. Unfortunately, because my computer recognizes my iPod touch as a digital camera, the folders only had my pictures, and none of my music. I tried to update the driver and change it to usbaapl, the Apple Mobile Device USB driver. However, my device manager keeps saying: "The best driver software is already installed" or something like that. The driver Windows automatically installs is MTP USB device. I've tried uninstalling it but as soon as I plug my ipod back in it just re-installs the wrong driver again. So, is there any fix to this problem or will I just have to go invest in a flash drive to transfer my music?

Startng wth the iPhone and iPod Touch, Apple stopped supportng "disc mode" (and that's why your iPod Touch isn't "Aplle format" or "Windows format"). You access the musc, apps, calendars, etc. through iTunes, and you access the photos through the camera interface.
Windows is not "installing the wrong driver" you are just assuming that the device operates in a way that the newer devices no longer support. There are some 3rd party aps that will allow you to sync music from your iPod to your PC, but I have never used them so I can't tell you how well they work. I do seem to recall that XPlay2 was one of the names that supposedly supported doing that though...

Is the G4 Dual restricted to ATA drives only?

I got me a G4 dual 867 and I am running out of space. My dedicated HD is 20 gigs. I also have a 320 gb for my music and video stuff. I just added another 100 gig in the back for sundries. I am looking to expand to a larger drive than the 320. Can I use SATA drives. I so far have only used ata drives. I have seen mention of Serial ATA drivers in this forum. I thought they wouldn't work in my model. I thought I was restricted to ata. If I could use SATA...then I could throw in a 750gb drive and hold more content. Please help. My Apple TV wants more stuff to play and 300 gb is too small!

Yes, you CAN use SATA drives in your G4 PowerMac, as several members on the forum have done. First you need to get a SATA controller card. The FirmTek SeriTek comes highly recommended:
