Bought two new phones from Verizon and can't activate either - does sprint or AT&T have better customer service?

HELP!!! I bought two new phones from Verizon stores for Christmas presents and can't activate either one. When I try to go on-line I get a message that the activations can't be processed.
When I try to call, I get a message that they have Activation support for today but long hold times (understandable) and the automated system keeps hanging up on me (not understandable).
Any hints on how to talk to someone and get these working today?

massive frustration that the phone process kept hanging up on me. finally got to chat with a customer service person (not sure how because I could never find a chat option on-line). Kari was GREAT; stayed with me and fixed what ever needed to be fixed.

It is more than likely the inability of the UK phone to support the US phone bands. You will probably be stuck with 3G and will never be able to get LTE. Also, your warranty is only good in the UK. You might be better of to try and sell that device to someone in the UK and purchase a phone in the US that you can get full service with.

See turingtest2's user tip on Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. You should, however, maintain your library on your PC and maintain a regular backup of it. iPhones are neither designed as nor suitable as data storage devices.

More information is required for a meaningful reply. Do you have an email account? Are you settings correct? Can you receive emails on the iPad? Have you another device on which you send /receive emails? Is it working OK?

I had 2 iPhone 3G's, one of them screwed up and wouldn't recieve service. Up until then when I backed them up to my computer all was good, then one of them would update and all but a screen would pop up and tell me it couldn't back up to my computer. I banged my head on the wall with the same problem for two days. Tried everything mentioned, and this worked, finally. The problem is that the backup files are not where you think they are.
You need to delete the MobilSync backup folder. I have a Mac. Went to /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup and deleted the Backup folder.
Fixed the problem. Give it a try and good luck!

If you bought the new phone from an authorized dealer you should be able to turn it on and see the setup assistant that guides you through the process of setup and activation. What happens when you turn the phone on?
Or did you buy a used phone from someone? What exactly do you see on the phone when you turn it on? What messages are displayed?

Contact eBay and/or your credit card company to file a claim against the seller if he/she advertised that the phone was unlocked and ready to be used.

Hello, I am a new user for apple, and I have just bought a new iPad2 from UAE, and returned back to my country Egypt, every thing is going ok except that when I acces the iTunes store, I do not have all the iTunes store contents, I only have "podcasts", "iTunes u", and "downloads", I don't have the music or the films, and when I try to access these services via an external link like e-mail, I get the message "your request can not be completed", so does any one know the reason?

I cannot find "Other" devices. I found Apple Mobile Device under Universal Bus Controllers but cannot see "recovery mode" or any other status. I use Windows Vista.
When I try to restart Apple Mobile Device Service I get the following message: "The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". What does this mean?
During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes.

When you purchase a new phone from Verizon you have 14 days to return everything, pay for the service you used, and go back to the way things were before the purchase. You can also exchange the phone within the first 14 days, but once you do the exchange, you keep the second phone with no option to return or exchange again - be sure it's THE ONE.
You would need to purchase or upgrade to the phone in question in order use it fully for a week, and then return or exchange it within the 14 day window.

I primarily print photos from Photoshop CS5. The term Page Set-up has gone missing in the file pull down menu. Can't make any choices There are no page sizes, paper types, appearsto be locked on a 13x19 size paper format. Either being too large or too small.
Saw a 2008 locked issue about this however none of the help fit my situation, options discussed are not available to me.
Preview has no "Page Setup" - or does it?
Does the constant struggle with computer compatability weirdness issues ever end or is it a enslavement scheme?

Hey,
if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders. You can then navigate all the contents as normal.
