Bounce borders
In previous versions Logic was detected bounce start and end points from soloed regions in arrange, not working anymore in L9, are I miss something ?
Hi Ed
I spoke to soon. This works fine for me in Logic 9. I solo some regions on one track, select Bounce and Logic sets the start and end points according to the beginning of the first soloed region and the end of the last soloed region.

Black borders, Adobe CS4 & Canon Eos 550D
Hi All,
Im pretty new to the video scene, and ive got adobe cs4 for a while but never
used it alot, now im recording video's with a canon eos550d with a great quality,
but allways after my bounce there appears 2 black borders up and down.
the video output format from the canon is: 1920 by 1080 .MOV H264
when I import it in a default page template called "DV PAL Widescreen 48K"
and using the youtube HD setting the output gives 2 black borders at the top of the movie and the bottom.
I tried to put the project to 1080p but then ive got no possibility to hit "enter" and a quick offline render..
is there a way to fix this ?
Thanks in advance,
NickYou want a sequence with 1080p square pixels, for a frame size of 1920 x 1080. The presets in CS 4 are in the AVCHD section that would match this, dependent on the frame rate at which you shot and whether your camera shoots progressive or interlaced video. Chose the one that matches the frame rate you actually shot at, you can export at a different frame size and frame rate after editing. The fact that the presets are designed for editing video compressed using AVCHD doesn't really matter as long as the sequence settings match the actually footage.

I have a Late 2010 Macbook Air running OSX 10.8.3, recently the title borders of any open windows (safari, excel, word) flashes from its normal grey color to a lighter grey color. I honestly have no idea what is causing this, but the flashing is occurring about every 15-20 secs and is so annoying. Is there anyway, I can use activity monitor or something else to sort this out. By the way, if I log out and just log in as a guest, it does not occur. However, even if I do a safe boot, the flashing still occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. Rob
In essence, I keep getting frequently "bounced" from an open window to the finder and then back to the open window (thus, causing the "flashing effect"...therefore whenever I work in an open app, it gets interrupted for a few seconds because I'm in the finder...then back again. So frustrating as I have no idea what's causing this "buggy" behavior.

Audio bounce cuts first eight bars
Somehow, all my newly-bounced audio files begin at eight bars beyond the start of the region. Example: I verify that a region begins precisely at 1404 1 1 1. Bringing up the Bounce dialog, I see that Logic gives it a Start point of 1412 1 1 1. And after the bounce is completed, the playhead returns not to 1404, but to 1412.
This started a couple of days ago, and I can't think of anything I've done that might make it happen. FTR, over the weekend I bounced dozens of audio regions exactly as expected, exactly as I've done ever since I started with Logic 7 (now using 8): I select the region, make sure its track (and no other track) is solo, click Bnce, title the file, ensure that it's going to the correct location, and Bounce. All those were fine.
Workaround: I've found that I can MANUALLY enter the start/end times in the dialogue (changing 1412 to 1404) and it outputs the file correctly. But this needs fixing. Manual adjustments will create MAJOR slowdown in productivity.kcstudio wrote:
And boarders should read borders…………..
Anyways, while you're at it, there is a preference which gives you the choice to automatically let Logic choose the borders of a selected region, so you don't have to fiddle around with the mouse...
Hey hey KCStudio,
Many thanks—that got it. FTR, it's in the Regions drop-down on Arrange, "Set Locators by Regions," not Preferences.
That did take care of it so that I didn't have to worry about precisely where the region fell. I knew I'd checked the Prefs, and I thought I checked the Regions dropdown—evidently I didn't read closely enough, or just didn't make that connection how it would solve it, or both. I've been away from Logic for awhile and I've forgotten lots of these everyday things.
FTR, also, meanwhile I decided that something was just screwy with the file, so I opened a new empty project, selected all, and dragged the whole thing in, copied all the files anew. That did clear out whatever cruft was bugging me. Still, for future reference, I very much appreciate your taking the time to help.
Sounds like a "solved" to me. Thanks again! -
Getting bounce levels to be equal...
Hi,
I have made several recordings of different songs over the last weeks. The recording setup has been similar, yet not identical, for all. I have made bounces of all songs and notice that when i play these in iTunes (I DID read posts on how to deal with iTunes settings) they differ in overall volume.
Since I would like to burn some of these as a demo I would want to have the volumes at a similar level. So I went back in Logic to bounce them again in order to take care of that and I am confused as to how to do this efficiently. Do I do it by changing the stereo out signal, Master volume, somewhere else?
All tips welcome.
Thanx,
BrickSeveral approaches:
Assuming all of your tracks are 'mastered' and all you want to do is even out the levels (without resorting to brick wall compression), take all of your 2-mixes (bounces) and lay them up in a new Logic song in "album order" on one track. Use automation to adjust the levels of each one. It's very easy to do this if you select each region and use the "create 4 nodes at region borders" function. Then all you have to do is drag the volume for each one up or down as required, using the loudest track as your peak reference. Once you're happy with the levels, select each region, use the function "set locators by regions/events" and bounce each region out separately.
Second approach: put each 2-mix on a separate track, but maintain "album order" (meaning the appearance or regions in the arrange page will look like stair steps if you're zoomed out far enough). Now you can simply adjust the volume control on each track to adjust levels. This will also give you the ability to add individual EQ or compression (if desired) to each track individually. When you're ready, do the same as above: use "set locators by regions/events" on each
region and bounce them out separately.
In all cases, make sure normalize is off. And of course you can do offline bounces to speed up the process. -

How does WebTools determine the number of Clicks, Opens, and, Bounces on the Campaign Reports?
Thanks to all in advance.I would be interested in the answer to this also.

Java Bouncing Balls Threads problem?
Hello,
I am working on a homework assignment to represent a java applet with some bouncing balls inside. So far so good. The balls bounce and behave as they are supposed. The only thing is that I want to make 2 buttons, Start and Stop (this is not part of the assignment, but my free will to provide some extra stuff :) ) . I am implementing Runnable for the animation and ActionListener for the buttons. I did research on threading, but somehow I am still not getting quite the result I want. The applet is not displaying my buttons (I guess I am not implementing them correctly) and I dont know whether I have synchronized the threads correctly as well. So, I am asking for some guidance how can I do this? Thanks in advance!
As a remark, I am new to Java, as I am just starting to learn it and this is my first assignment.

http://img267.imageshack.us/my.php?image=51649094by6.jpgI'm trying to draw everything first to a buffer:
buffer=new BufferedImage(getSize().width, getSize().height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
gBuffer=buffer.getGraphics();
The buffer is for one JPanel and then i want to draw this buffer every time when balls change their possitions(collide or just move).
The logic is something like this:
startButton -> (ball.start() and add ball to List<balls>),
ball.start() -> ball.run() -> (move allballs, paint to buffer and show buffer)
In the first class:
BouncingBalls balls; //A REFERENCE TO SECOND CLASS
In the second class:
private List<CollideBall> balls=new ArrayList();
the tames are the same but this isn't an error.

When I login, all of my desktop items are gone, the "Finder" icon is bouncing and a message asking to restore windows is blinking but unresponsive. I can't exit out of it. What do I do? I've tried force quitting, and it doesn't get rid of this message. When I login to my husband's account, this message does not appear.
Hey sunnyday7!
Here is an article that can help you address this issue:
OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3411
Additional Information
OS X automatically relaunches the Finder when it is quit. If the Finder is unresponsive, use Force Quit to relaunch it. Select Finder in the Force Quit Window or Dock, then click Relaunch.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

Safari bounces and then files a problem report repeatedly, but doesn't open
Hello and thank you for reading this,
I have seen several other posts about the same problem, but the suggested solutions don't work for me.
When I try to open safari it bounces for a bit but then tells me that "safari quit unexpectedly" and even though I have sent a problem report several times it doesn't help.
The problem details it shows are:

Campaign Metrics - # Bounces Switched?
Hi -
We have sent out several campaigns and are now reporting on them.
The metrics seem to be mixed up on the subject area.
The campaign was sent out 2/3/2011
The receipent data on the campaign object shows delivery status of 8 hard bounces and 1 soft bounce as of 2/7/2011
The dates are important since the report is 24 hours delayed......
When we run our report using metrics from the Campaign Response History subject area - no formulas, just pulling Metrics."# of Soft Bounces and Metrics."# of Hard Bounces"
the results are SWITCHED. I have tried to change teh aggregation rule from default to sum, just to check. No pivot tables are being used...just straight values.
Does anyone know if this is really a bug or what else might be happening??
Thanks,
AnnHi Ann,
If you are sure you are seeing an error in the data, please enter an SR with Oracle Support.
Thanks! -
After Effects CS5.5 Wont Open - Application Just Bounces In The Dock.
Hi all,
I appear to have encountered a problem with After Effects... I was working on a project earlier today which usalizes a VideoCopilot plug-in called Element 3D. After a quick break I came back to the project and attempted to load in the 'Free Earth Project' by VideoCopilot. (http://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2012/08/free-earth-project-for-element-3d/). As their site suggests, I had to place a downloaded project folder called 'Earth' into Element 3D's 'My_Models' folder. Immediately after this I tried loading After Effects and encountered the issue. I'm not sure if it's couincidence or directly related which is why I am posting here.
After Effects does nothing but bounce in the Dock. When I right-click the application I'm met with a 'Force Quit' option, and a message saying "Application not responding". I'm on OS X 10.7.4. I'm not able to tell you what version of AE I'm running, only that it's CS5.5, as I cannot lanch it to find out. All other Adobe products work with no problem.
I have already contacted the support team at VideoCopilot and they have sent me an updated build of Element 3D in an attempt to resolve the issue, unfortunately though this did not work. Addiitonally, I have tried booting into Safe-Mode and tried to launch the application from there, as well as using Disk-Utility to 'Repair Permissions'. All of these steps have failed to get AE working again.
If anyone knows of a way to fix this I would be most grateful. I'm working to a very tight deadline and am afraid that I will miss it. Additionally, if anyone has any fixes that doesn't require reinstalling applications that'll be a bonus!
I've also attached a crash-report to this post incase it's of any use in determining the cause of the problem (I couldn't find a way to attach it directly, so the file is hosted on my website - I apologise in advance if this is against forum rules!) - http://www.starfireindustries.org.uk/uploads/8/6/6/1/8661295/ae_error_report.rtf
Thanks in advance,
