Bounced audio is seconds shorter, but not when re-imported...

Hi - I'm scoring to video (.mov file). I have hits in specfic spots, and my client was complaining that things weren't lining up. The time - let's say at :45 looks correct on the video, but when I bounce the audio and play it back in Quicktime, that hit is almost 3 seconds sooner. I assume my client is having the same timing issue.
I have re-imported the audio into the project, and it's accurate! I've started a new project, and the hit is again in the correct spot. What gives? Inside Logic, the timing is correct, outside it's shorter.
iMac, Logic 9, OSX 10.8.5

Hi, Steve. After you bounce your mix to an audio file, what next?
In other words, if we take it step by step...
1. Your client sends you a video file in mov format.
2. You load the video into Logic and create your score.
3. You bounce the audio mix of your score to an audio file.
4. You close Logic.
5. You now have a new audio file and the original video file. They are seperate things.
6. At this point, how do you marry the audio and video together for playback for your client?
To me, it sounds like that is the crucial question.

Audio Glitches on Timeline, but not when played in QT?

I had a client send me his project on a harddrive.
They exported a .mov file from FCP and it has no audio glitches when played with Quicktime.
But if i drag that file to a timeline and watch it through my DSR-25 to a NTSC monitor, it has audio glitches in certain spots.
Always at that spot though and if i watch the file in Quicktime, it plays fine.
All audio was exported originally out of FCP using Quicktime Movie with 48khz, 16 bit stereo so nothing needed to be rendered.
Seems like it has something to do with it going over via firewire through my DSR-25.
Has anyone else had this problem.
I can't make a Master DVCam tape for this master because of these audio glitches.

I read a post about a user having this same sort of issue.
He said when he turns off his video layer, in my case just V1, the audio played fine.
Same with mine.
So it seems to be an issue with the video track playing with the audio track.
If i export it and bring it back in, will it just create that same audio glitch?
Guess i will have to try.
Anyone have this issue or similiar?

Audio in source but not when dragged onto timeline

Hi,
I have just been editing some video taken with a dslr, and the audio is there in the source, but not when dragged to the timline?
I see there is an option to select drag video or audio only, but I cannot select the audio.....
Any help with tis please...?

If you import the audiobook as an audiobook to your iTunes Library, it will be listed in the Books section of your Library. You may need to turn on Books in order to see them. If you cannot see the File/Edit... etc. menu, use CTRL B on your keyboard to make that menu bar appear. Then go to Edit/Preferences>Books and put a tick in the box.
But, if the imported audiobook shows up in the Music section of your iTunes Library, highglight the files (in iTunes) and select File/Get Info/Options/Media Kind>Audiobook. These files will now transfer to the Books section of iTunes.
Once on an iPod Classic, look under the Audiobooks menu. Again, you may need to change the settings in the Settings menus, in order to have the Audiobooks option shown on the Main Menu and/or the Music Menu.

- How did you dlete stuff from the iPod? If you have a 1G or 2G iPod and deleted the stuff by going to Settings>Genera.>Reset>Erase aall contents and settings without being connected to a power source, the battery dies before he erase was comleted since it can take hour.
- In any event try the following:
- Connect to a chaging sour for three hours.
- Reset the iPod and then connect to the computer and try to restore va iTunes.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

Thanks, Bob. I've seen this suggested before. However, I'm at a friend's place (cat-sitting). He owns an older MacBook (almost positive) and he streams audio without Airfoil. All he uses is AirPort Express. He told me to simply click alt-option and the volume icon and a menu drops down, and I select "AirPort Express". But it never appears. All the menu offers is this:
"AirPort Express" isn't an option.
Why is that? Is there something fundamental I'm not doing?

Jar runs from Dos prompt, but not when double clicked.

Hello everyone,
My executable jar file will run fine when called from the Dos prompt like so: java -jar myJarFile.jar
But not when I double click it. I've associated *.jar files with java.exe as suggested here on the forums but all that happens when I double click the jar file is that I get an instance of the Dos prompt that flashes up on the screen and closes immediately. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

Yes Carmello, I had associated jar files via folder options in windows explorer with java.exe, now when I have the jars associated with javaw.exe as in the following:
ACTION:
javaw.exe -jar "%1"
APPLICATION USED TO PERFORM ACTION:
javaw.exe "%1"
I get an error dialog with the title string "Java Virtual Machine Launcher" and the error message itself is "Could not find the main class. Program will exit." when I double click on the jar file. As I said in my first post the application [GUI based with around ten different forms] runs fine when called from the Dos prompt. Any idea as to what is wrong? Thanks for replying by the way.

Probably best if you could post screen shots of the Inspecror window in extended view with a couple of the clips you using for the 2 angles.
If you have audio from both cameras and have identified them separately, the sync is usually pretty reliable.

HP D110 AIO printer. Prints jam when printing with wireless, but not when hooked to USB cable! HELP!

From what you describe you are having issues printing from MS Office. Have you had trouble printing from other resources on your computer (e.g. from the internet or another program)? The first thing I am going to suggest is that we start by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer from the resources available online.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it (this is important). Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.

Wifi works at home but not when away from home

My Wifi works at home but not when away from home, what is wrong? I thought with a phone plan I didn't need to have a wifi connection.

You either need WiFi or Cellular (or both). If you have neither, you can't connect to the internet.
Most people use WiFi at home and Cellular while away from home, or connect to public WiFi networks where there are some.

My iPad only has sound when the earphones are plugged in. The switch that controls the volume works then, but not when I take the earphones out. Suggestions?

Ipod nano plays with headphones but not when plugged in to player

I have a nano 16gb 4th or 5th generation. It has worked fine up until about a week ago. It works if I plug in the headphones, but not when it is plugged into the car stereo or an iHome. Any thoughts?

If:
-you and your husband have the same generation iPod nano
-they both have the same latest software
-you tried the car stereo with the same iPod charging cord.
(with 32 pins connector I just wanted to make sure it is not the headphone plug)
this means that the problem is indeed with your iPod nano.
Since you also said that before last week everything worked fine, something must've gone wrong after that.
This could be software-related or hardware-related. Did you try to connect it to your computer? Does the computer recognise it? Can you still charge it?
If the computer does recognise the iPod it might be a good idea to 'repair' your iPod via iTunes.
Or try the Five R's: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/nano5gen/# (more or less the same for 4th and 5th gen)
If your computer does not recognise it, it probably needs to be repaired. But since it is 4th or 5th generation I guess the warranty is void already, and you'll have to decide how much this is worth to you or if you wouldn't want to buy a new one.

Most common culprits include the cable. Try swapping it out for a different one.. or not having the most recent version of itunes. I once even solved this problem by shutting down the computer for 2 minutes. (the longer the better), with the ipad plugged in. starting it up... then itunes recognizes it, launches, and syncs.
Apple has a troubleshooting assistant on this topic:

It will advise you to reboot. I recommend shutting down instead.

P.S The ipad should charge when asleep and plugged into your Mac. The charging behavior is normal. There isn't enough power out the USB ports to charge the ipad while it is on on some older Macs and nearly all PCs.
