Bounced music files are crappy.

Hi,
After bouncing my session, I've always found audio to be produced is uneven.
Lower volume, not clear & unbalanced sound etc. So bad music, anyway.
A friend recommends that a digital recorder just like Alesis masterlink is the best gear to solve this problem.
Is this correct way?
Let me know the best solution. I will do and buy anything for solving this problem.
Thank you.

What are you listening to your bounced mixes on?
iTunes? It probably is copying it inot it's library and converting it to mp3 or AAC format, making for a crappy result every time.
You definitely do not need a Masterlink to "solve" the problem.
In fact this problem does not need any money spent in order to fix it.
It requires you to have the knowledge of what is happening when you playback AFTER your mix leaves Logic.

I have a Windows 7 laptop using I tunes 64 and all my music files are
on an external disc. I rarely use I tunes and at one point moved all my files
(including the music files) from one external disc to another without
considering what affect this would have on the I tunes library. When I eventually
attempted to use I tunes, every selected a song from the library resulted in a
message stating that the file couldn't be located. After following some of the procedures
explained in this community I was able to reconnect the library back to where
the associated music files are presently stored. However, there are still 2
problems that need to be corrected. 1) Every song file now has a duplicate. One
file works and the other file will result in the same message stating that the
file couldn't be located. Before there were 4,000 songs in the library, now
there are 8,000 songs. I need to eliminate the 4,000 dead song files. 2) All
the playlists are still associated with the dead song files which makes the
playlists unusable. Can the playlists be reconnected to the usable files
without manually having to recreate them? Thanks in advance for the help.

    So am I understanding correctly?
You used your iPod as a hard drive (drag and drop) instead of having iTunes install the music?
If you used drag and drop your choices are different than if you used iTunes to transfer.
    Good luck!

  • New version of ITunes installed - Not all music files are being recognized

My system crashed and Itunes was automatically 're-installed.' My music is located on my external hard drive. When I reconnected my music to ITunes about 3000 music files did not appear in my library. Before the re-install all music files were available in the library.
The music files are all still located on my external hard drive. Strangely, when I copied my music on my external hard drive to create yet another back up of my music many music files were missing on the copy. The missing files were a combination of downloaded music from a cd and purchased, no trend.
I welcome any advice on how I can get 1. my ITunes library to read all of my music files (which are in ITunes format) and 2. how do I copy all of my music on my external hard drive to make a safe back up (I-tunes back up is not an option because not all of the music appears in my library)
    Thanks for your help

  • Does iTunes match need to locate the actual files or just see its record in your library database? I am currently traveling in US and I have US and Australian iTunes accounts. But all my music files are on a hard drive in Australia.

Does iTunes match need to locate the actual files or just see its record in your library database? I am currently traveling in US and I have US and Australian iTunes accounts. But all my music files are on a hard drive in Australia. Can I start using itunes music match while I am travelling without the actual music files attached to my itunes?

In your situation I strongly recommend you read over that KB article. The international iTunes Stores are not cross-compatible.
My understanding of how it would work is that when activating iTunes Match on your US Store account, any songs you have in your iTunes Library that were purchased from the AUS Store account will NOT be matched. As I understand it, those files will be uploaded (which means you need the files on a local HDD). I also do not think it is possible to have iTunes Match active on more than one store ID on the same computer. But since iTunes Match is not available internationally yet, that point is moot for the moment.
To be honest you might want to wait until the service is available internationally so you can guage how will it will serve you.

  • My music files are "missing".  How do I get itunes to locate the files without identifying each music folder (files are in separate folders under torrent data and I don't want to open each one of them individually)

Just like the title...  Music files are missing and I don't want to locate each folder individually, how do I get itunes to locate all of the music without taking each music file out from the album folders they're in?

  • 7.6 can only find files in the itunes folder - My Music files are all lost

Since upgrading to itunes 7.6 all my old files that were located in My Music are no longer found by itunes. However all files in My Music/itunes are found.
I have not changed the file names, what has happened?
As I have loads of files in the old My Music folder it is a problem to redirect every file individually.
I do have a backup of the computer but what do I restore as all the music files are where they have always been?

Again many thanks. I have tried to tidy up the folders as per your idiot guide- which term is appropriate for me
Under iTunes Media though I do not have  folders for Books,iPod Games, Mobile Applications, Movies, TV Shows so I only have  Auto Add to iTunes, Music, Downloads and Podcasts - My question here is is this OK.
Next - Library files that you mention are there but do not end .itdb
Next  - in the main iTunes folder followingon from Artwork and Media folders  there is some other  iTunes database stuff like Library Extras, Library Genius, Library and Music Library(xml) all dated 10/02/12 plus MimiPlayer .dll dated 21/02/14 and Set Up Short Cut dated22/03/14
AND there is also a Programme Files folder with a sub folder holding file folders called CD Configuration,iTunes Resources, iTunes Help Resources, iTunes Mini Player Resources and Mozilla Plugins all dated 24/03/14 ( when I downloaded the new iTunes) and then a lot of application extension stuff from 2011
To recap I unistalled the old 32 bit iTunes and installed the new 11.1.5 (64 bit) version over the weekend  SO is any of the old stuff listed above required.
Outcome right now is that as previously I can only call up the Downloaded music not Podcats or CD copies.

  • Music files are stored under device folder, not Library folder

In comparing my Itunes account with my co-worker, I've discovered that my music files are all stored under "my device" (in the music section) instead of under the "Library" section for music.
How do I move my music to the correct folder structure.  In it's current location (under my device which is an Iphone), I'm unable to create playlists etc.  it will not let me drag any of the music from my device/music library into the playlists.
On a "weirder note" - I have 4-5 recent songs that are shown in the correct location:  library / music folder.  These songs work for creating a playlist etc.
How do I get my 200 other songs into this correct location?
Now that I've purchased an Ipad, I'd like to create playlists to tether onto each device.

  • Music files are invisible

I was moving some music files the other day to categorize them within MY MUSIC folder. Then yesterday, I was trying to add some files from my ITunes to a flash drive and some of these files are now invisible. I don't know what I did wrong. I also did a Disk Utility Verify and Repair. Did that have something to do with my files becoming invisible? I don't have a clue how many of these music files are invisible. But I've noticed its a lot of them. How do I find these INVISIBLE files and make them VISIBLE again so I can copy them to the flash drive? They play just fine from the Source or from ITunes.. Please help.

OK. I've never seen files or folders disappear on their own. Here's what I suggest. While booted into the new account, copy your other account's folder to another volume (disk or partition), launch System Preferences->Accounts, delete the bad account, selecting the *save data option* (which stores the data in /Users/Deleted Users/ as a disk image), recreate the bad account using the same username/password combo, log out and back into the recreated original account. If the problem's solved, open the saved data dmg file in /Users/Deleted Users/, open the /Library/Preferences/ folder from the saved data, open the current /Users/restored account/Library/Preferences/ folder, and slowly copy plist files from the saved data folder to the current one that don't exist in it. Log out and back in to ensure there's no conflict and things still work correctly. Resolving conflicts or identifying corrupt plist files or recovering missing/lost/hidden files is a laborious process. Good luck.

  • How to transfer music from iPhone to iPhone when music files are not on computer?

    Dear all,
I'm having trouble trying to transfer music from one iPhone to another (iPhone 4 to 5s if it matters), when the music files are NOT on my Macbook Pro, which as far as I understand prevents me from transferring music using the iTunes library sync method.
Is there a way to do this? Like transferring the files to the Macbook Pro first?

  • How can i make sure all of the files in my music file are on my itunes??

I copied all of my itunes music via usb drive (crappy process) onto my mac in my music folder.. but it too several times due to the small size of the usb drive.. anyways..
When you add music to your music folder.. it doesn't go onto your itunes playlist until you choose that specific song..
can itunes perform a search to make sure you have a copy of every music file on your itunes?

iTunes menu File -> Add to library and select the \Music\iTunes\iTunes music\ folder.
FYI: If you are using iTunes 9, go to \Music\iTunes\iTunes media\ folder.
Make an alias on the desktop of the *Automatically add to iTunes* folder. Then drag songs to the is folder and they will automatically get added to iTunes and moved to the correct folder.

  • ITunes 7.1 has changed how my music files are organised - why?

My preference is to store all the music on my PC underneath iTunes, thus:
    My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\{artist}\{album}
I do not purchase music from the iTunes store (there hasn't been one in my country until very recently) but I do import CDs from my own collection, and also mp3 files which I obtain (legally) from other sources such as emusic.
I have had the "keep iTunes music folder organised" and "copy files to iTunes music folder" preferences checked. To avoid duplication, when I have new tracks to add to my library I move them into a 'New Imports' folder inside 'iTunes Music' and then invoke "File > Add Folder to Library" in iTunes.
Id tags in these mp3 files are not always consistent w.r.t. artist names, so I often have to select a few tracks, and edit the info so that the artist/album names are standard. When I do this the files are physically moved into the correct folder (and so I have one "Beethoven, Ludwig van" folder, rather than the dozen or so variations on that name which have been imported, and the other now-empty folders have been deleted).
So far so good - up until the latest iTunes upgrade, that is.
It appears that this version has changed the way iTunes operates, and it now uses the "Album Artist" field in preference to the "Artist" field. Actually that can't be strictly true, there must be other factors at work too: this afternoon I imported an album with 33 tracks; the album artist was empty while the artist was spelt in two different ways. I selected all the tracks in iTunes-Music and used "Get Info" to give all 33 tracks the same artist; the result moved 32 tracks into one folder (named as "artist") and left track 23 in its original folder. I then selected track 23 alone and checked the artist and album artist fields, and the result moved the other 32 tracks into the same folder as track 23 (named as "album artist").
What's going on? A "what's new in iTunes 7.1" document would probably be useful but if Apple have released one I can't find it.
    Cheers
    T

iTunes keeps no memory of the previous folders things were in so no obvious way to reverse the change. iTunes shouldn't move your files about if that option isn't ticked except if you use the option File > Library > Organize Library > Rearrange files in the folder "iTunes Media" (or you "consolidated", in which case the originals would still be in place). If it's not that then I've no idea why it did what it did. Ideally you would have a backup to recover from such a situation.
If your files are all correctly tagged with their respective genres so that it is easy to identify "audiobooks", "teaching", "study" etc. within iTunes then you could modify my script ConsolidateByMoving to move selected files to precisely where you want them.

  • After downloading iTunes all my music files are in pieces

    Hello,
is there anyone you knows how to solve this issue. I downloaded the current basic iTunes and gave Apple the permission to view my music files. The result is that almost every music file is now incomplete, for instance there will tracks from 1 to 20 but strangly track 3 , 6 and 13 will be missing. Instead I have to search around and finally find a file called 'unknown artists' in which I would find the specific album again but only containing the tracks 3, 6 and 13. That is highly unconvenient and I don't understand why.
All the albums I'm talking about are CD's I bought in shop and just copied on my laptaop (toshiba using vista windos media player)and where fine before iTunes came along.
    Any clue would be appreciated.
