Bouncing entire song..a quick way to choose "entire song" besides Locators?

When I am bouncing an entire song, is there a quick way, or default option, to choose the entire song? I understand that I can easily set the Locators, but then what's the purpose of having the "end" marker available? I am trying to save myself the step of setting the Locators every time. Thanks!

Hi,
you need to set Locators (as Cubase requires)...
But Logic is different...
So after set Locators you must hit on Cycle button in order to activate the left and right locators points... (this is a Logic pro feature)
There is also another way:
you can Select All tracks/regions in the arrange window...
The resulting bounce will be exactly the same size/time as region selected...
Logic allow you to bounce only a part of the song (NO sets Locators is needed)
Just select one or more regions = the resulting Bounce will be strictly related within the starting/ending points of the regions that you are selected...
As you can see... Logic is different
*you don't need to use Locators!!!*
*Just select the portion of regions that you want bounce!!!*
this is the logical way of Logic pro.
(you can also create an Empty region .... if you select the empty region Logic bounce will be the same as the size of the region selected)
There is also a 3rd way: on the bounce window you can set manually the Locators... if you use this way... this is the Main way...
if you set locators in the bounce window all previous suggestion will be bypassed
This 3rd way is the Main Locators Bounce size window.

When using two iPhones (iOS 5) on the same computer/iTunes Is there any way to choose which songs, contact info., etc. are sync'd to each device?

    For each iPhone...
From the Summary tab select:  Sync only checked songs and videos.
Under Options in the Summary tab select:  Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi
If you want you can select: Manually manage music and videos.
Select the music you want synced from your iTunes library, same with Contacts.

  • Is there a way to choose a song without altering play mode?

I recently got an Ipod Nano 16g and its my first i-product. I gotta say, the whole searchable database method of organizing songs is kind of counterintuitive to me, especially in how it relates to play mode and song searches.
For example, I downloaded the recent series of Mp3's from Phish's 3 days in VA. There are three different albums, each with multiple discs. If I use the album browsing feature where you tilt the thing sideways to look through the albums and their cover art, its easy enough to find the first of the three albums.
Ok, great, it plays. But it only plays the first disc worth. I want it to continue to the next one.
Is there any way to enable a mode so that no matter what song you choose to play, it will "just continue to the next song in the 'all songs' playlist"?
That's all I really want to do. I have a lot of MP3's and unless I'm listening to a specific album, I like keeping it on "random". Sometimes I want to listen to a specific song, but no matter what method of search I do for that song, it seems to change the play mode.
Like, I search by album as described above, it will only play that album. If I search by artist, it only plays songs from that artist. If I search for a song, it only plays that one song, even if I have random mode enabled. If I go into the "now playing" playlist, I can click forward and backward until I come across the song I want but that is crazy tedious when there's 2k songs to go through.
All I want to do is be able to search for a particular song, play that song, then continue on with what it was doing before, either "all songs" or songs from a particular playlist. Every other media player I've ever encountered, including my car stereo (via USB flash drive) works that way. I'd set up the ipod in "disk mode" for my car, but then I couldn't use the ipod as an ipod, not to mention the car stero recognizing the ipod as an ipod so I couldn't access the songs anyway.
I'm hoping there's something simple I've overlooked, maybe one of the menu options I don't fully understand.
    Thanks for any help!

There are several points in your post.
I like keeping it on "random".
If you want to play any list in shuffle mode (which is random order), go to the Settings screen on the iPod and set Shuffle to Songs.
Ok, great, it plays. But it only plays the first disc worth. I want it to continue to the next one.
In iTunes, you can create a new playlist. You do so by clicking the + (plus) sign at the bottom left corner of the iTunes window (or from the File menu). Name the playlist appropriately. Put all the songs you want (in this case the songs in this collection) in the playlist, by dragging and dropping them (to the playlist) from the main iTunes music library. After syncing the iPod, instead of playing the album, play the playlist.
You can also change the way this particular collection is categorized in iTunes. Go to the main Music listing under LIBRARY in the iTunes sidebar. Click on the list heading for Artist (or Album ) so that you can see all of the songs from this collection together. You can edit what iTunes has in the album field for each song so iTunes that considers all the songs to be in one album, if you want to do something like that. How the songs are organized on the iPod depends on how they are organized in iTunes.
it will "just continue to the next song in the 'all songs' playlist"?
You will have to show a list on the iPod (either a playlist or a by-artist list or a by-album list) that shows ALL the songs you want to eventually play. Then the iPod will play that list, either sequentially or in shuffled order. If you want it to continue playing after playing through the list, you can set, on the iPod's Settings screen, Repeat to All.
All I want to do is be able to search for a particular song, play that song, then continue on with what it was doing before
I think creating playlists is the answer. Then you'll get your favorite songs.
However, if you want to pick a starting songs and make it play continuously through your entire library randomly, its
Music -> Songs -> pick song to play
To make it play that list in shuffle mode, set the Shuffle setting to Songs.
If you just want to start a shuffled sequence at a random song, select +Shuffle Songs+ from the iPod's main screen. With the 4th gen nano, you should also be able to shake it to start a shuffled sequence. This plays all of your songs in a random order.
There is also the Genius feature, where you can choose a starting song and let the iPod create a playlist of 25 songs that +work well+ with that starting song. A very cool feature I use often.

  • Is there a quick way to delete all songs on my iPhone 4, running 5.0.1?

The last time i synced my iPhone on iTunes i must have chosen the wrong option to put 2 new songs onto my Playlist (on iTunes) and then i chose Autofill. What happened was all/most of my songs duplicated. i did accidentally chose to the duplication option since the 2 new songs were of the same title. i thought only those 2 songs would sync "duplicated", not the entire Playlist that i created for this device. This List of music is not titled as a Playlist on my iPhone, only shows as my Library of songs + album art work. Ugh.
When i did a search on the iPhone Manual (in Chapter 8) i was only given the option of going to the iPhone songlist, swiping each duplicate song & choosing "Delete". Ugh. That will take a really long time since i now have 1500 songs. HELP! & Thanx. Each time i tried a search in the online communities regarding deletion of the iPhone music there are no communities offered. i do NOT want to delete the Playlist from iTunes only the music from my iPhone so i can resync the single versions of each song.

My first thoughts on your problem JLDraw, is to connect your phone and open in itunes and uncheck your lists or songs, sync so you have no songs on your phone and re-select your songs and/or playlist that you wish to have on the phone and sync again. And don't forget to uncheck the auto fill.  Maybe there is an easier way but thats my first thoughts. Good luck

  • Is there a quick way to replace entire sets of styles?

I am currently working on updating InDesign templates that the rest of our team use to start translating different versions of our books.  In the template we have the guides and text boxes all created as well a sets of styles to use..  (Headers, Body, Captions..etc).
They started on an older version of this template and I've just updated it by re-defining all the styles.  Is there a way I can replace a document's styles with an entirely new set?
The styles are all named the same from the previous versions - but currently I still have to go delete each style and apply the 'new' style - one by one.  This takes a while when we have nearly 100 styles.  Is there a quicker way to do this?  Or am I looking at this whole template thing wrong?
Is there a tutorial or a video explaining the philosophy behind these templates?  Basically, we create new books or documents all the time and although they go to different typesetters, I would like them all to use the same 'standard' styles.

When you load styles that have the same names you should get a dialog that lets choose whether to update the existing style with the incoming style or rename the incoming:

  • PLEASE HELP! QUICK WAY TO CONVERT ENTIRE PROTECTED AAC TO MP3

    Hello,
What is the fastest way to convert about 350 songs to MP3 from the protected AAC format. All songs were purchased from the iTunes Music Store, but I want to burn then all onto a DVD to play in my DVD player. Thank you for your super fast responses!

Well to answer your question, I do not know of any.
But also it is against the terms of use for these forums to discuss ways in which the protection of iTunes purchased songs can be circumvented. Likely, as soon as one of the moderators runs across this thread, it will be locked from further posts.
    Sorry,

  • Whats the quickest way to remove duplcate song entries?

Is there a quicker way to remove duplicate song entries in itunes? Also, sometimes when I went to remove them manually then play them later itunes said it could not find the original file of the song that I left??? Any/all help is greatly appreciated, cheers Paul

    Hello,
    2 'fast' options really -
    1) Export of application + Export/DataPump of schema
This works if you want a complete 'mirror' from one environment to another of the schema objects
    2) Supporting Objects
Bundle all your requirements together with the application export.
The Supporting Objects feature absolutely rocks and yet very very (very!) few people seem to use it.

Assume you were in itunes?  Also assuming windows?  Two paths I can think of.....
    1) Normally anything deleted from itunes goes to recycle bin.  If you did not pick remove from computer probably still in itunes music directory.  Just add back.  Note to speed things up you can use add directory.
    2) Use restore previous version of music directory.  To be safe I'd back up current directory, do a restore, then swap back original directory and use restored directory off line.
I do not know of nice solution, I like to hack my way through.

  • Does anyone have a quick way to have iTunes on my ipad list which songs are actually downloaded to the device ?

Does anyone have a quick way to have iTunes on my ipad list which songs are actually downloaded to the device ?

If you want to import movies into iTunes you can use that to stream & convert to Apple TV compatible formats as Rudegar suggested.
Another option is to install a media streaming application like Plex or Kodi on a PC/ Mac.
    https://plex.tv/
    http://kodi.tv
Those should be able to stream to the Amazon Fire stick. They also can re-encode video 'on the fly'. So if you format is not supported the computer converts it & the device on the TV gets a format that does work (not including DRM protected files) - obviously this requires a computer with enough power to convert, but many recent computers have enough power to do that. There is setup involved, but these servers are a good once configured.
Roku has a Plex app that also works well on the TV.
The Apple TV does not work well with these apps, it expects you to use iTunes.

  • HT201318 Whats a quick way to download all of my songs and movies on my mac from iCloud?

Whats a quick way to download all of my songs and videos on my mac from icloud?

If you're trying to download music and movies purchased from the iTunes store to your Mac, download them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.  If you're trying to transfer them from your Mac to your iOS devices, sync them with iTunes.  (iCloud doesn't transfer videos, and it only makes your music available if you subscribe to iTunes Match or redownload them from the iTunes store.)

  • Please Help with Quick way to Un-do Duplicates

OK, I'm using a Windows PC, with Vista 64-bit.
Music is my life. I have 36,000 songs all in 320KBPS. Since Apple Lossless is mindbogglingly not available in the iTunes store, I use the highest quality of CD-Import I can find.
Not sure what I did, but I was in iTunes and at the top, it started saying "Processing Files" and was counting songs as it processed them. I was thinking "I didn't hit anything? Is this a back-up? What's going on??"
So I looked under FILE>Show Duplicates and I have 26,000 of my song files DUPLICATED!
    Here's the Dilemma:
I cannot just highlight them all and hit Delete because "Show Duplicates" shows the original song and the duplicate song on top of one another like this:
    POSITIVE TENSION / BLOC PARTY
    POSITIVE TENSION / BLOC PARTY
THIS MODERN LOVE / BLOC PARTY
THIS MODERN LOVE / BLOC PARTY
Make sense? If I delete-all, the song would no longer be in iTunes at all.
I cannot spend hours deleting Duplicate songs one-by-one. That would take days! Highlight song, Right Click, Delete, Are You Sure? Yes, Delete.... repeat. Crazy to even think about it.
So... I deleted iTunes. I re-loaded the newest version of iTunes 9 for 64-Bit. It found my songs, but STILL Duplicated instances of songs!
Does anyone PLEASE now a very quick way to Un-do this or delete Duplicates...????

First check your recycle bin. Hopefully your missing album is there and can just be restored.
Now open *Edit > Preferences... > Advanced* tab and click the Reset button next to *Reset all dialog warnings*.
Take a single duplicated track and use *Get Info. > Summary* tab > Where: to confirm that both entries refer to the same file. Now delete the entry with the newest *Date Added* date. This time you should definately get a prompt to keep the file or move to the recycle bin. *KEEP THE FILE*. Check the remaining entry still plays.
Assuming things are behaving as expected you can now select all the recent entires & delete, keeping the files so that the original entries will still have files to point to.

If you're in any doubt about how all this works then before you start you probably ought to take a backup of your entire iTunes folder. Had you had one you could have simply restored your most recent iTunes Library.itl file in a jiffy.
*Fast backup for iTunes library (Windows Only)*
Grab SyncToy 2.1, a free tool from MS. This can copy your entire iTunes library & any other media folders onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the changed files will be copied saving lots of time. And if your media is all organised within the iTunes Media folders then you can open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes.

You might also find the following useful in case you accidentally remove too many entries:
    *Adding new items/removing orphans*
Try iTunes Folder Watch or iTunes Library Updater. Folder Watch is much faster on the adding files front, can be set to run in the background and includes a useful exclusion feature, however it’s really slow at removing orphans. iTLU is better for this although doing it manually after looking at a list of proposed removals generated by Folder Watch is probably faster still. iTLU can also be set to update iTunes when you've used 3rd party tools to change tag info.

  • How can I gift a playlist, with the songs in the order I choose?

How can I gift a playlist, with the songs in the order I choose, to a bunch of other people? Since iTunes won't allow me to burn a song more than a few times to disc, and I have to share playlists with my cover band (so we can learn songs), I need the capability to do this.

Drag them from where? I've tried to drag them from windows explorer and it won't allow me. It seems the only place I can drag files from is from the iTunes library list. The problem is there is no way that I can find to just see the songs from a specific folder on my drive in the iTunes library list. It sorts them by artist, album, genre, etc....but not by folder.

  • Is there a way of getting your songs off your ipod?

Okay, so i have my ipod synced with a computer that i'll never see again. It was my ex boyfriends...is there a way of getting my songs off my ipod and on to my new computer or am i basically screwed if i want to add new songs?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.
