Bouncing from Logic to itunes

I'm having an issue when I bounce my song from Logic to itunes, I'm not getting the complete song only a small portion of it. How do I ensure that the complete song will bounce?

First of all, you ask a Logic question in a GarageBand forum.
If you mean "GarageBand", make sure that the Cycle Range (yellow bar in the Timteline)  is not active
If Cycle Range is active, then GarageBand Bounces only that section
If Cycle Range is not active, then GarageBand bounces to the end of the last Region plus 2second
If you mena "Logic", the bounce hiearachy is as follows.
Cycle Range
Selected Region(s)
Entire Song
Hope that helps

    Hi David,
Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?
Do you have any stored preferences for PDF files in Firefox?

  • How to export multiple separate tracks as one song from Logic to iTunes?

I know how to export the separate tracks that i have recorded, but i want to be able to save all of the tracks into one song, in other words, i want to be able to take my recording from logic 8 and export the entire thing, not just separate tracks, into a file that iTunes can read. Any help/suggestions?

Select "Bounce" (upper right part of Logic arrange window) and make sure MP3 is check under "Destination". This will cause all tracks to be written to a single MP3 stereo file. However, if you have any tracks muted they will not be included in the bounce. Also, make sure no track is "Solo" else you will only get THAT track.
I am assuming that you have mixed all the tracks and done any "mastering".
Once the MP3 file is generated just drag it into iTunes, right click on the song, and then select Get Info and the "Info" tab to assign Artist/Album/etc.
    It is very easy......

  • Quick bounce from LOGIC PRO 7 to iPOD nano?!

I bought myself an ipod nano 4Gig today.
Since I am a music producer, my intention was to use it as a much more efficient and effective way of listening to the music that I produce on my G5 in Logic Pro 7.
In the past I would bounce the pre-production trax and then use waveburner to write them to a CD-RW. A lot of the time the CD-RW would fail or some CD-players just didnt want to read them + it really took long to get them to CD. So the ipod was for me was an attempt at making this process much quicker and just a whole lot more effective.
So my question is, do any of you know what the fastest and most effective way is to bounce your trax from Logic to the ipod? I tried bouncing directly to the ipod and even though it work and I can see the file is on the ipod, I can't access it and play it. Can one ONLY work through itunes inorder for you to add songs to the ipod?
My friend brought a cheap old little MP3 player to the studio once and it was so easy, I just popped the entire unit into the USB plug (didnt need any cables) and bounced the track straight to the MP3 player, ejected the player and boom played the song.
The only reason why I didn't buy the same MP3 player is because I would like to bounce my songs to my player in AIFF or WAV format not only MP3, so the ipod was the only MP3 player that could do this that I knew of. The ipod does seem to do some of the most basic things the long way around. I mean it can't plug into your USB port without the cable, which is frustrating because how many times does one forget to bring the cable etc.

I seem to have posted this topic twice, got all the awnsers I wanted on the first post.

  • Plug-Ins from logic for Itunes?

Is it possible in Itunes to use Plug-Ins, for example a EQ from Logic?

I am thinking this is a Logic specific problem now.
I cannot see the logic instruments in the channel inserts either, although the effects and signal processors are there.
where should the EFM 1, ES m etc folders be on the drive?
asuming they are in the right place what settings could affect their showing up in the insert menu??

  • My first question here.Is it possible to bounce live from logic into quicktime broadcaster quicktime streaming server?o

I would like to broadcast (webcast) live music only.Is it possible to live bounce from logic to quicktime broadcaster/quicktime steaming server, and thus to mobile me ?

Thanks, Evan. Your first suggestion works - although with a lot more difficulty as the Quicktime Pro I have is 5.0 and in Mac OS 9.2. If I listen to it in QuickTime Pro 5.0 after exporting - it is very jerky but the final AIF is okay. I can now burn the CD in iTunes. I probably should upgrade to QuickTime Pro 7 (.whatever) but I am leary about putting out the extra cash if it won't export Midi Files. Any experience with that?
Also, I do want to get the hang of converting midi data to audio in LE7.01. That way I can add singing to the songs for the beginner students to learn.
Maybe I'll have a better feel for that once I finish the Training Series book.
Some of the advantages of keeping it in midi format is the ability to transpose. Some students don't sing in the key the works are written in.
Your second idea did not work for me. Maybe because I don't have Toast on this computer (it was attached to my iBook). When I opened Toast, chose AUDIO and dragged the midifile to it, it rejected the offer as not being in Audio format.
Thanks so much for your help.

  • Correct way bounce a master mix from Logic?

I've been trying to bounce a master mix straight from Logic using AdLimiter (and in some cases multipressor) in the master output. I must be doing something wrong, because I always end up with totally mashed, pumping and overdriven bounced mixes, even with just a 2-3 dB AdLimiter gains.
I've previously used setup on PC where I bounced a dry mix, loaded the bounced mix to Soundforge (or similar editor), normalized to 0dB, then added Waves C4 and L1 (in that order) and used maybe 5dB gain with L1. Then render.. and that way I got a nice loud "master mix".
I now don't have access to waves plugins nor an external wave editor. So I figured I could do pretty much the same in Logic, if I monitor the mix, so that the master output doesn't clip, but peaks stays at around -0.5dB, so that I don't really need to normalize. Then I add Multipressor and AdLimiter in that order and start tweaking. But I'm not doing something right here, because now I get a very quiet (and limited?) signal, because I have previously had to lower the master output volume to prevent clipping. Any gain over 1dB I do to AdLimiter makes the mix sound like crap. Plus the whole mix is now -6dB or so, because of the previous volume limiting to prevent clipping.
That was a bit of a long story, but I hope someone understands the question I tried to ask.
But in short, I'd like to bounce a nice mix which is compressed and limited to be around -5 to -7 dB louder than the original mix. What is the correct way to do this?
    Thanks!

    to do this?
You might want to check out other mastering plugins. I'm not a big fan of the AdLimiter. Universal Audio's UAD1 (http://www.uaudio.com/) with the Precision Limiter gives very nice results. There are also some nice compressors available for the UAD1. Another possibility is buying the waves L3 to do the limiting, but this plugin is relatively expensive. Both options aren't cheap, though, but they will give better results than the Adlimiter.
by the way: Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) is a nice freeware audio editor. Nothing fancy, but it works.

  • Master volume adjustments aren't translating when i bounce projects from Logic Express, any tips?

    hi folks!
whenever i bounce a track from Logic Express it's always significantly quieter than any other aiff, mp3 or wave file i have, including those that i have bounced from garageband. Even if i crank the 'master' volume in the mixing window, it sounds loud in Logic, but  the bounced file is a big 'wanh wanh' and has absolutely no change in volume.
i must be doing something stupid.
is there another place i can adjust the master volume that the bounce will read?
does anyone else have this problem?
    i'm pulling out my hair.
any suggestions would be very welcome!
    thank you!

    Hi,
first of all: The "Master" Fader is for trimming your mix to your monitors only. The bounce will be taken from the "stereo output" channel, so look there for the correct volume.
Now for the loudness issue: Garageband has kind of a built in foolproof bouncing. Normally, you would have to adjust not only volume to be an loud as you wish, but you have to insert some plugins into the stereo output channel to ensure that the signal doesn't get any louder than 0db, because this will produce clipping and with raising volume, distort the sound. But:
You can raise the volume if you insert the LIMITER plugin as very last plugin into the stereo output channel. Make sure it is the last plugin so there are no changes to loudness after it, not even an eq!
Any change of loudness before the limiter will be limited (hence the name) to a maximum of 0db by default (you can change the value - i use -0.1 db just to be sure.) while the softer parts of the music are being raised in loudness. If you listen to it, you'll notice the whole song is louder without distorting. Of course, if you overdo it, you'll hear the squished dynamics. Experiment!
Garageband seems to have a built in preset to perform these tasks fairly well. In Logic, you have the freedom of using or not using these settings and to customize them, which is quite normal for a pro tool.

  • How can I download from other countries iTunes Stores?

I want to download from other countries iTunes stores but I have of course not a credit card for each of these countries and I can use my e-mail address only once (logically )to register. Any chance that I can download from i.E. the French store when I live in the UK?
Thanks for helping me if possible

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

I just upgraded from Logic pro 9 to  Logic Pro X on my computer, but all my EXS24 libraries are missing all of a sudden. How do i Get them back???
I have checked both the resource folders, and made backups from Logic pro 9, but its not recognizing them, or saying that they're missing a bunch of samples.
    What do i do?

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • Notes on 1.1.1.1 using insert effects cut off when bouncing from the start

Song starts at 1.1.1.1 with a piano using space designer in insert. When bouncing from 1.1.1.1, the first notes are missing on the mix.
Mac Pro Two 3.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Logic Pro 7.2.3

    That's what happens - It's a bit of a PITA.
    You can (as stated above):
    Start your bounce before 1.1.1.1
Move the song start marker back
Move all of your song forward
In the future start songs on 2.1.1.1 (or where you choose
After your bounce you can trim and master in waveburner (or your choice of app).

  • Logic Master, AU-Lab Slave: Receive midi clock from Logic?

    Dear board members,
I've managed to establish a very stable way to run PPC Plugins on Intel Macs by using Apple's AU-Lab launched in Rosetta mode (via its info panel) and activating Apple's NetSend + Receive Plugins. After creating an external midi instrument in Logic's environment I'm able to play any PPC Plugins with AUlab as their respective host.
This situation given to you as an inspiration, I would very welcome your thoughts on this two core questions:
1.) How could on make AULab receive the correct midi timing clock from Logic? This is important if you have timing dependent PPC Plugins, i.e. Wizoo's Latigo.
2.) What would be an appropriate way to compensate Latencies occuring inside Logic? I know its possible to record the incoming audio and set the audiofile then manually to the correct timing by draging but wouldn't it be fantastic to hear it in realtime (by negative sample delaying)
Thanks for your input in advance!
    All the best,
    - Vic

I spent a bit experimenting with this too.. A bit cumbersome, but it works... I have a Mac Pro 8 core, and a G5 powermac (PPC).. I was trying to use 3rd party plugins synths on Powermac, to record into Mac Pro... The delay made it impossible to really play along with it.. There was some kind of latency comensator on the AU or MIDI receive (I forget which) but I couldn't get that to really work well.
I ended up, recording the midi performance on the Mac Pro, using a dummy instrument, then I fed the midi to the Powermac and bounced it's audio back to Mac Pro...
ANSWER TO QUESTION 2 - I didn't try it, but if you were just going to use your PPC mac to process audio, you could assign EVERY track (except the one going to PPC) to a logic sample delay, and then delay that.. Send the track to the PPC, (in real time) process that and then back to MacPro... It can work,
ANSWER TO QUESTION 1 - I didn't see an obvious solution to sending the midi timing clock... and you really do need to have it.. Logic is capable (or used to be - haven't checked in years) of using something called IAC. You create it in the envirement - It's was similar to rewire...
Rewire also might be able to handle it - now that I think about it....
ANOTHER APPROACH - If you have a midi box you could take that midi out the LOGIC master.. (turn it on it settings) and patch it into the 2nd computer and have the application on the 2nd computer sync to that.. But if you were trying to merge a midi clock from one source and a midi keyboard from another... that's another problem to work out..

  • When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

Yes. I would clarify your statement about the "shared" iTunes Library though. If you want each iOS device to have its own music library, you should create separate user accounts for them. Read:
