Bouncing or choppy scrolling in Numbers 3.0

Anyone experience bouncing scrolling in Numbers? Mine moves around way too much. I haven't found anything to change this.

That didn't fix mine but through further experimentation I discovered this.  If I Save, Close, the Open Recent it comes back as 125% every time. But, If I Quit Numbers without a Save or Close then Open (Not Open Recent) it will open as the 100% I saved it as.  There is only one spreadsheet that has this problem. All the rest will work just fiine. All the spreasheets have been brought over from old Numbers. New spreadsheets created in 3.0 work fine.

  • Logic Pro choppy scrolling after 10.8.4 update

I am trying to help out a composer who uses Logic Pro 9 on Mountain Lion. He has done all software updates so Logic is absolutey as up-to-date as possible.
He was on 10.8.1 and I recommended updating to 10.8.4
Ever since the 10.8.4 update, he is experiencing very choppy scrolling when scrolling up or down within Logic, but not left to right.
Booting from the old backup drive with 10.8.1 confirms the problem does not exist there, so something about the 10.8.4 update caused this.
Things we have tried to remedy the situation:
1 - Update his trackball driver
2 - Try a completely different mouse input device instead
    3 - Trash Logic's preferences
4 - Completely uninstall and reinstall Logic Pro
None of these things have fixed the situation.
Can anyone help? Thank you very much.

That is interesting info indeed. I appreciate it. I hope this can be fixed with a Logic or another 10.8.x update soon.
To clarify, I don't know that's what the problem is, your friend may have updated something else at the same time. Here in audio land the general advice is... "if it's not broken don't fix it". I still use Snow Leopard which is now 2 OSX upgrades behind the current version, but my system runs perfectly well and I see no need to upgrade.

  • Choppy scrolling in Firefox/Facebook

I beta tested Yosemite. That being said, when I was still running Mavericks, I had this awful problem in Firefox (especially on Facebook) where scrolling down got horribly choppy, and the rainbow spinny pinwheel would come up constantly. After installing beta 1 this ceased to be a problem, so I didn't give it much thought all through the betas. Today I've formatted, and did a clean install of the final release of Yosemite, and now the exact problem is back again! I am beyond annoyed. Does anyone else have this issue?
    Thanks
By the way, this problem is non-existent in Safari.

I'm also having similar issues with Chrome. When I switch between tabs it takes a couple seconds before the page shows up (even after it's already loaded). Also I have the choppy scrolling, and other apps take longer to open than they used to. I have a Mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13" with 750GB hard drive and 2.9 GHz. I'm assuming this is a Yosemite issue, rather than my computer as it ran flawlessly before.

  • I have choppy scrolling on pages with pictures

Lately I have slow and choppy scrolling on pages with pictures. I removed FLASH, fixed the .css file and disabled ALL Add-Ons but it did not help.
When I switch to the IE engine (with the Coral IE Tab addon) scrolling is smooth and nice.

I too had this problem after accidentally upgrading to 3.6.12. Ultimately, for me, the cure involved the following:
    1. Options-Advanced-General Tab- un-check Use Smooth Scrolling
If this doesn't help, then also do the following
    2. Disable Microsoft.NET Framework Assistant
This really resolved the issue-faster loading of pages and faster scrolling.

  • HTML5 Playback causes choppy scrolling

HTML5 videos cause choppy scrolling - most notable when playing a YouTube video in a tab, and browsing in another one. If the video is paused there is no problem. Also, which is a bit weird, if I click on a YouTube video, and before it manages to fully load, switch to another tab, the scrolling is fine. If I switch back to the YouTube tab, it immediately gets choppy in all of Firefox. Similar problem with 9GAG gifs for example, so it's not just with YouTube.
All drivers are up to date. Windows 7 Professional N, hardware acceleration on or off makes no difference. Any ideas?

Also good to mention that if I switch to YouTube flash, the problem is gone, however Flash gives such a sh** performance, that I would rather tolerate a bit of choppy scroll than using the flash player :)

  • Nokia X2-02 not scrolling multiple numbers in cont...

    Hi,
I bought recently this phone, i've syncronised it with Outlook and everything was fine, contacts with more slots with numbers stored were showed with left/right arrows and i could scroll trough the numbers stored with left right navigation button.
One day after another sync, i've got some error and i've returned to factory settings. Since then, no more scroll trough multiple slots numbers in my contacts!
I've tried to reinstall the software, deleted all contacts stored in phone memory, nothing helped to restore that lovely option like Sony erricson style!
    Anyone could help?
    Solved!

sounds like an issue, alright. in this case, sounds like you will need to pay your local Nokia Care a visit: http://nokia.com/support

  • Adobe Reader choppy scrolling

    Hi Everyone,
I'm having an issue with Adobe Reader for OSX 10.8.4. Whenever I load up a PDF using Adobe Reader and being scrolling through it I notice that it scrolls extremely choppy but when I open the same PDF with preview, it works perfectly smooth. Does anyone know what's going on or know of a fix? I've tried to google search for a solution but I have yet to come accorss anything useful. Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

    Hi WiLD_Cat,
No solution I'm afraid but just to let you know I have exactly the same problem with my MBA core i5 1.7GHz with 8GB RAM which I purchased last week. Some web pages (Facebook is a good example, The Guardian as well) are really unresponsive/choppy while scrolling up/down, while others are ok. I have also noticed that typing text into web forms (such as this one) produces a noticeable lag with text appearing).
Obviously interested if you or anyone else has a solution!

  • Can you disable the bounce effect while scrolling?

Whenever you scroll in applications like Safari and Mail and you reach the 'border' of the application, you get a little bounce effect like in iOS. I find this to be very annoying and I was wondering if there was a way to turn this off.

Why?... is there any point??? I thought I liked it for about 15 seconds and then it started to feel like a joke... now it just feels a bit like last year's favorite shirt.

  • [MBA 2013] Choppy Scrolling in Safari and Adobe Reader

    Hey guys
just got my baby from the local Apple store a few days ago.
This is my first ever Apple product and I am loving it in many ways...
except for an issue with scrolling and animations.
Despite having installed the latest drivers
I am still getting often choppy scrollings in Safari.
Normal pages like Engadget and the Apple website are smooth,
but when i go to sites like Facebook, it immediately goes choppy. That's fine.
Yet nothing beats the choppiness (is that even a word ) in Adobe Reader
I am a university student and I need to view lecture notes in PDF format frequently in class.
Scrolling these files is not an enjoyable experience especially if the notes are long,
i mean it's mainly text inside these files and very rarely do you see an image,
so I'm guessing it's not a problem with the memory nor the HD5000 graphics.
You can call it stuttering or even frequent freezing coz it's simply UNBEARABLE.
Somehow i guess it might be either :
    1. Issues with the drivers (coz I've heard that the 2012 MBAs don't have this kind of problem)
    2. Adobe Reader for Mac is simply not well-built :s
    Specs:
    2013 Macbook Air
    Core i5 Haswell 1.3Ghz
    4GB Ram
    128GB SSD
    Anyone got solutions?
    Thanks in advance

  • Recently, since upgrading to ver. 8.0.1, videos are extremely choppy, scrolling is choppy and loading pages is slug slow. I have a very fast quad core i7 processor and plenty of RAM & HD space.

Sometimes a video will start smooth but within moments it becomes very choppy and jumps from image to image. The browser itself does the same thing where it bogs down to a crawl and scrolling is also very choppy. Very frustrating. I have been using Firefox for years now since it first hit the scene, but until I upgraded to ver. 8 this did not happen.

Please see the help article on what to do when <ins>[[Firefox is slow]]</ins>
and the help article on <ins>[[High memory usage]]</ins>
See also the help article on <ins>[[Managing the Flash plugin]]</ins> which describes how to adjust hardware acceleration.

  • Choppy scrolling in Safari on MacBook Pro Retina?

    Hey there!
I fiddled around with a MacBook Pro in the Apple Store lately and found Safari to perform not very well on some pages like for example www.appleinsider.com. The website did scroll very sluggish and choppy when using two-finger-slide. Scrolling on other webpages like www.heise.de was good enough - but also not exactly blazingly fast.
I was instantly reminded of my graphics performance problems with my early 2008 iMac. Graphics performance in Safari was not very good there too. Problems started with OS X Lion and lasted till 10.7.2. 10.7.3 cleared the issue for me and many other users. Exchanging graphics drivers in Lion with Snow Leopard drivers helped.
Do some of you also have an issue there?
    Regards
    Alex

I'm using Safari 6 and Apple Airport Extreme as a router (DNS server) which uses OpenDNS so there shouldn't be any DNS issues especially since Google Chrome never has an issue.

  • Choppy scrolling on adobe acrobat.

hey guys, i just installed adobe acrobat x pdf reader on my macbook air 13 2011 model core i5.
problem is: the scrolling so choppy. at first i thought it was normal but when i compared it to my friend's macbook pro (snow leopard), the scrolling in adobe was noticably choppier in mine compared to his. i have done some research via google and tried most of solution out there. i dont have air display installed or any 3rd party app that involves mirroring my display.
i am very disappointed as i expected the scrolling to be smoother, at least as smooth as older macs. i am currently on lion 10.7.3
Any suggestions? is this lions fault?
    thanks

  • How do I disable rubber band elastic bounce-back when scrolling in Mavericks?

I just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks.  I hate the bounce-back when you hit a boundary when scrolling.  The terminal command:
defaults write -g NSScrollViewRubberbanding -bool false
does not work for me and neither does:
defaults write -g NSScrollViewRubberbanding -int 0
Has anyone figured this out yet?
    I'm running a 2009 13" MBP, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB RAM

@Lloeki: I downloaded and installed your extension…and it actually helps (there's still some jitter present, because it doesn't totally eliminate horizontal scrolling, but it IS able to cure the bouncing effect at the top and bottom portions of the open window. It's the only solution I've come across that really DOES make a difference, so I thank you for it and encourage others to give it a try.
Now that you've provided a successful workaround to the problem for Safari, my next question is this: Can you create some type of similar fix for this nightmarish bug so that it alleviates the problem globally?

  • Choppy scrolling in iphoto 11

I upgraded to iphoto 11 and now scrolling through photos (especially large amounts of them) is choppy and slow. iPhoto 09 was fine, but 11 is very choppy. Anyone else experiencing this?
BTW I have installed both the iphoto updates, not any better.

Not trying to revive an old thread, but the problem is still here. It seems that after scrolling through a list of photos once. After that the scrolling is fine. I guess this has something to do with thumbnail caching?
However, this still needs to be addressed.
The launch is very slow too. Apple needs to step on it and send an update. Its been way too long.

  • Choppy scrolling

    Dear community,
Not long ago I bought an new iMac late 2012. Until now I’m pretty happy with it but I realized a problem while working with editors that the scrolling is choppy and laggy.
    The problem:
When I use applications like eclipse or Dreamweaver the scrolling is totally laggy and it is very frustrating working with that. When I scroll the CPU usage goes up to 20-40 %.
But there is a difference when I change the size the texteditor window. When is very small the scrolling is very smooth like it supposed to be when is max size is very very choppy.
I made a small video to demonstrate the issue and added some monitoring. When you play it on 1080p you going to  see the values.
    http://www.youtube.com/v/HMNTSfag-zs&hd=1
I think that is not ok and intended. I tried it also with other applictions and is kind of the same problem. Using Photoshop , Textwrangler or Word is alaways slow scrolling. Sometimes even dropdown lists are lagging (***?).
So far I tried this approach’s to solve the problem
Deleted the application caches in safe mode
Create a new user and tried scrolling
Renamed systemconfiguration folder and try after restart
Smooth scrolling functions and trying around options
    Reset the PRAM
Nothing helped at all and as newbie to osx I don’t what to do else.
    I would appreciate some advise

Did you have the same problem with scrolling while you were running in safe mode?
