Box around flash
Here's my problem. I have a box appear around my Flash in
internet explorer, I know about the lawsuit between Microsoft and
Active X, and understand why it is there, and can even get rid of
it with a javascipt file. My problem is that whenever I get rid of
the box, I also get rid of my dhtml. Here is the page:
http://d14684333.r200.radiowebworks.com/info_farm.htm.
As you can see, my dhtml menu goes "OVER" the flash, but
because of that box, no links can be clicked until you click on the
flash. I am pulling my hair out here! How can I get rid of that box
and not get rid of my DHTML script? Please don't send me to the
Microsoft site because I read their info there and was totally
lost! Please advise. I am at my wits end! Also, by the way, I am
using Dreamweaver MX 2004. Thanks for all the help guys, I
appreciate it greatly!

On my flash movies when I post them to the web, there is a
box around the movie and then it says "Click to Activate and Use
the Control". Why is it doing this and how can I get it to
stop?my 1st reaction is that these posts are just a funny
joke - since about every 8th post is on this
exact topic nowadays
My newsreader is actually downloading them as the same thread
because they share the same subject
line - usually that happens with subects like "HELP!" or
"URGENT!" lol

Remove box around flash when rollover
Does anyone know how to remove the white box inside a browser
(in my case Internet Explorer) that appears around a flash area
when your mouse rolls over into the flash area? What I've noticed
is that on some websites this actually does not happen and on other
websites it does. Is it something I can control as a flash
designer? In other words, is there a setting or something that
turns off this white box area from showing up on a mouse roll over?
Any tips or help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much,
TonyThis is why:

All the flash work I've designed, when I open up a site where
the element is, a box is around the flash....what is this box? If I
click on the box, it disappears. If i put my mouse over the flash,
that box appears around the flash. Is there a way I can fix this is
or is it a setting n my browser and/or flash player? Here is an
example:

Place your mouse over the header, and you'll see what I mean.

There seems to be a lot of extra stuff in there that would
make it not be
valid javascript. It hsould just be a plain text file.

Box around flash files in explorer
I am doing a site with flash buttons and every tim i go to a
new page and roll over the buttons section a bounding box comes up
around everything that is flash. When you roll over it, it tells
you to click to activate this control.
it works fine in mozilla but not in explorer. I havent had
this problem until recently and i am wondering is it a new version
of explorer that is doing this and i need to change some browser
settings or something.
Here is the link to the test site.

ThanksHi Mike,
Sorry, but that link won't work.
Here is the text of the post:
At my company I create LMS enabled lessons to help clinicians
learn to use patient tracking software. We recently encountered a
small problem that might be encountered by others who use this
forum. I thought I’d post my experience.
The issue began when my company began upgrading computer
terminals with the latest version of Windows XP. The symptoms of
the problem occurred when a web page containing any active content,
such as Flash, QuickTime, etc., displayed via the latest version of
Internet Explorer.
Here is the sequence of events:
After a page containing active content loaded, the user would
hover a mouse over the (active) content. At that time two curious
things would occur; a gray “bounding box” would appear
around the borders of the active content, and a small message box
would appear saying “Click to activate and use this
control.”. The user would have to click the active content
(to make the message and bounding box disappear). After the message
and bounding box disappeared the active content would function as
intended.
For me this meant that HTML files where I had Flash embedded
(generated from a Captivate file) would require an initial mouse
click to activate the (Flash) control. (I had many short Flash/HTML
files strung together for form a single lesson. I did this to track
the users progress through the LMS.) Each time a HTML page with
active content loaded the user would have to repeat the mouse
click. This was not a good thing for my lessons.
After doing a little research I found a Macromedia/Adobe
article that explained what was causing this new quirk and how to
work around the problem.
Here is a link to that article:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/activecontent/articles/devletter.html
I thought this might be helpful for any folks encountering
the same problem.

Hi - I'm not only having trouble waking up my MBP from sleep and having to restart repeatedly which is a pain in itself, but now when it restarted, I have these black boxes surrounding things, e.g., there is a black box around the red "close" button on the upper left corner of this page. There is also an oblong resizable black box sitting on top of anything. The content changes depending on the actions I take. Right now it says, "You are currently on a close button. To click this button, which closes the current window, press Control-Option-Space." Right now I'm open in Firefox, but it doesn't matter if only Finder is open, it's still there. I've tried closing all my applications and restarting and I also reset the PRAM. It won't go away. It's probably something simple, but I don't know how to get rid of it. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
JanetThanks so much. I saw this on "desktop strangeness" immediately after I posted and tried to retract my question. It worked perfectly. I'm not sure how VoiceOver got turned on unless something happened when I was trying to wake up the computer. I open the lid and it flashes whatever is open and then the screen goes black and I can't wake it up. Still looking for the resolution to this.

White box around png images in Final Cut Express 4.0
I was putting in some muzzle flashes into my video with final cut express 4.0, they were png images and there was a white box around the muzzle flash after i used the composite mode screen effect, if anybody knows what the problem is i could use the help.
I inserted a 3D bullet into my movie and it had a black background. I used Composite Screen and it it worked, but it made the bullet slightly transparent. What should I do?

Removing border around Flash content
I really cant stand what adobe has done to the flash player.
They totally messed it up.
My question is how do I remove the box/boarder that the new
flash player puts around flash content.
Go to a site with flash content, once there hover your mouse
over the content, you will notice a box/boarder around the content
now.
HOW DO I REMOVE THIS, so freaking annoying!
Just leave Flash how it was Adobe.
Good to see how you come and take over macromedia, and then
you jack with thier software making it a total annoyance.
Tell me how to turn this boarder crap off.You really are shooting off obviously without having read any
of the
hundreds of news reports on this in the last couple of months
.. nor the
hundreds of forum posts here. Do a little research before you
start
mouthing off about what adobe has done .. otherwise you are
just looking
very foolish.
Adobe has done nothing here. Microsoft have been forced as a
result of
EOLAS suing them to change how IE works with all embedded
ActiveX controls
(including Flash).
It is up to web site authors to change their HTML so the
flash content
doesn't need to be activated.
There is nothing you can do about it, nor adobe, nor
Microsoft.
You can temporarily do something about it be going to MS site
and
downloading a patch that turns off this new behaviour for a
month or two
(its only a temporary fix).
If you are a web site author, then see the many posts in the
flash general
discussion about what you should do .. in particular look at
http://activecontent.blogspot.com

I go to "clip adjustments" and change the length of a clip. It reverts back to original length. I've also tried to shorten it by moving the yellow "box" around a specific clip to shorten. It still reverts back to original length. Why?

Firefox box around zoomed out images issue w/ (xf86-video-intel)
When I zoomout on a page firefox displays a insetted box around my images.
Most notably in my webmail client, however it happens even on the forums if I zoomout.
Regualar zoom: http://world.pyther.net/files/Firefox/regular_zoom.png (The way it should look)
Zoomed Out: http://world.pyther.net/files/Firefox/zoom_out.png (Inset boxes around images)
This happens with both the offical arch build of firefox and the spookyet build. I have no idea how to fix this, it is very annoying!
Any help would be great!
EDIT:
After doing some more research I have narrowed this down to being an issue with xf86-video-intel. The problem does not happen if I use the xf86-video-vesa driver. I have filed a bug report at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468366

My IPAD has a little box around everything I tap. I have tried to reset the IPAD 2 but to no avail. Now I am locked out and cannot put my passcode into the Ipad2 so I cannot back up the IPAD 2 when plugged in. It is charged ..I was reading a Foot Smart email when this occured. Help
Sounds like you have VoiceOver (one of the accessibility features) 'on'. Try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns it off, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut (or Triple-Click Home depending upon the iOS version).
If that doesn't turn it off then you can either turn it off directly on the iPad (you need to use a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process and 3 fingered scrolling) to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver 'off', or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes (after typing in your passcode via the tap/double-tap process) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064 -
Is there a way to create menus without boxes around the text?
I'm fairly new to Muse, but I'm hung up on this one issue. I'd like to insert a text menu without the boxes around the text.
What I have tried:
Dragged in a horizontal menu from the Widget Library to my header for my master menu. I've spent over an hour trying to find a way to make the surrounding boxes go away, but can't. I realize that I can insert text, and link the text to particular pages, but I don't want to have to do this if at all possible.
Thank you!Hi
You can use No Fill for menu items and define same for all states :
Also if there is stroke value, you can lower down to 0 which would remove any border weight.
Let me know if I am missing something here.
Thanks,
Sanjit -
How to use check box in flash 8?
How to use check box in flash 8?
If you want it to happen when someone clicks the checkbox, then you need to add a listener for that event.
var cbListener:Object = new Object();
cbListener.click = function (evt:Object) {
if (cb.selected) {
gotoAndStop(2);
cb.addEventListener("click", cbListener);
(Note: "cb" and "cbListener" are names that were made up for this example. They could be anything you want to name them)
