I have a new MacBook Pro with OS X Lion 10.7.4. The DVD player does not have a feature to store film clips. Why? This is useful for my work and I had it on my older computer? Why the loss of capacity?
I cannot recall the DVD player ever being a place to "store" videos - it is simply an app to play videos.
If your machine is new, then iMovie should be included as the "shrunk" version of iLife is included with Lion (iMovie, Garageband, and iPhoto). However, iMovie is not a place to store videos either - it is a video editor. You import your clips and edit them in order to then burn to a DVD or share via a social media site.
Have you considered simply dragging the clips to your folder "Movies"? That would be a great place to just store them (please be aware that videos are usually large files, so keep your hard drive space in mind so you keep a minimum free and available for the OS to operate properly): -
Some of the birthdays I have entered in Address book appear in my Ical one day and one year earlier than the date I have given. Eg. I have entered a birthday in Address book as 23 March 2011 and it appears in Ical as being on 22 March 2010. Other names have no problems. There are only some that do not appear with the correct date and year. Why is this? Has anyone found how to correct this strange problem? I have Time Zones ticked.

Had problems with Flash not working. Windows 7, IE 9(?)latest. Uninstalled Flash, reinstalled Flash. Problems look like Flash never reinstalled ok. Can't see the "Clowds" shows version 15 installed. Had Flash Professional installed, reinstalled tha too, no luck. I get "webpage wants to use Flash msg constantly at bottom of IE9. "Allow/Allow for all sites" Add on for Flash is in IE9, and Enabled. Please help!! reinstall IE? Thanks!

Why will this not work for combo box
I need to know why this will not work a combobox but it works for text fields. Isay ther is an error in the doc.createTextNode.

i created a jsp dynpage using the wizard in NWDS and in the jsp file that is created using the wizard, i have written something like this.

as you can see it is a plain jsp file without any hbj tags.
when viewed in browser, it throws a compilation error in j2ee engine.
but when i remove the line "<% String str = "jsp dynpage" %>".. it works fine.. why arent the jsp tags working here.. any idea?

Problem: Why does this only work for powers of 2?
I wrote this program to create a golf league schedule for, ideally, eight players. However I want it to be flexible enough to permit for other denominations, such as 10 or 12. When I run the program it works perfectly for any number that is a power of 2 (2,4,8,16,32,etc...) but it will not work for other even numbers such as 6,10, or 12. If anyone has any insights it would be most helpful.

}//end WeekAh, I have discovered the problem. The reason for the infinite loop was because of the resetting of the counter/index after every successful match entry back to (a - 1). This was causing matches to be put into weeks where they didn't belong, which caused the program to infinitely loop because it couldn't find an appropriate week to place it's next match. The only time the count should be reset back to zero is when a new player A is being processed or the last valid array index has been referenced before an out of bounds exception would be thrown. I'm still not entirely sure why this doesn't occur on powers of 2 but theh again I haven't put too much thought into it having solved the initial problem! :)

Here is a copy of an email I have sent to the top bloke in BT about theeir terrible home moving procedures:
Dear Sir,
I’m moving home at short notice on 29th April due to work commitments. This move was only confirmed at 10.00am this morning, 22nd April.
I called BT to arrange for me to have the Infinity line that is already connected to the new property switched back on on the April.
Apparently it is not fibre to the cabinet as usual, but fibre direct into the house.
After being passed through 4 different members of staff I was eventually connected to a lady who promised to call me back. After a couple of hours and no callback I managed to recount her by calling BT again.
She then informed me that the earliest reconnection date was May 22nd, over 4 weeks from today. Apparently an engineer has to visit the house to reconnect. Why? She couldn’t tell me.
Bt take an instant to cease the service, why is it impossible to reinstate within more than 4 weeks?
I presume when the previous owner vacated the house he didn’t take the fibre connection with him. I’m perfectly capable of plugging in a router to a socket which is all the engineer will do. As I understand it the re enabling is done at the exchange.
I would be grateful if you, or one of your exec team could look into this issue which I understand is widespread and expedite a recommissioning in a timely manner.
As a matter of interest, the girl I was speaking top whilst placing the order told me the way to get around this issue was to find a wifi hotspot in the garden! I didn’t realise hotspots were in everyones garden – I can’t connect to my own router in the garden, why on earth she thought I would have random connections in a large gardened detached property is incredible…
I realise everyone wants their internet connection yesterday and all have valid reasons for doing so, but my wife uses the connection for video conferencing with her job, so I guess that’s at least as valid a reason as anyones. Over 4 weeks is pretty much an insult I feel.

Its quite possible that the connection has been recovered, and re-used for another customer. The date you have been given would have been the next available date that a suitably skilled Openreach Field Technician would be available to re-provide the connection.

I don't understand why the java class files can be decompiled into original source code. What is the benefit of that? This is against intellectual property. Nobody wants their source code to be view by other people, especially if your project is critial and vital to your business!!!!!!!
I tried the "DJ- Java Decompiler", the source code it produce is almost identical to the original. Sun has always claim java to be a secure language, but the java class file itself is not secure at all in the first place!!!Decompilers also help people better understand code in an advanced way to use it better. I know I use the sun Java files for common java.lang and java.util classes to make sure I'm doing it the best way possible.
If you have the software are want to violate Intellectual Property, you could just copy the executable and sell that. Decompiling and recompiling a program to steal it seems like a long road to no-where.
Decompilers are about understanding the code.
IP is what you do with a document when you have it. If your respectful and use it as it was intended to be used, then the more you know about it, the more legal benefit you will gain from it. Violating IP is about wrongfully transferring information, not about understanding things you legally have in your possession.
However, what courts may consider fair use is always declining. Soon you'll only be able to listen to the first half of the songs on a CD and after that they'll probably declare that you're stealing if you pay some special 'second-half' royalty fee.
If you understand how to do things, then you can just write it yourself, and better, without resorting to stealing. -

Why is "onLoad" not allowed for the div tag in the behaviors effects?!
I have a js menu positioned relatively over a Flash intro in hybrid fashion; I'd like for it to appear gradually on Load so that it appears at the end of the intro, but you can't use onLoad for the div tag apparently. Is there any other way to do this? I do NOT want to have to create a navigation menu in Flash...
As David says onLoad does exactly what it says, triggers the event on page load.
A simpler solution would be to attach a JavaScript behavior to the onLoad event or separately it would not matter, to gradually fade-in your menu.
There are many utilities to do this and all are dhtml, Try searching for one and adding it to your webpage.
See the spry fade-in/out for an example of a simple effect, (you would have to adapt it to your requirements as with most special effect behaviors).

You need to call the screen in which you have defined the custom container 'CUSTOM_AREA'. And you need to call the method generate_output( ) in the PBO of the screen.
If I comment out the lines

r_container = g_top_container
from the Method "cl_salv_table=>factory" the output is displayed with table in required format.
If you're removing the R_CONTAINER parameter, SALV framework displays the data in full-screen grid. Actually it uses REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY to display the data. Hence you are getting the data.
To be honest i'll be surprised if you are getting the splitter container, can you confirm if you are getting it?
