Box sets for £9.99 offer?

There is an offer on for box sets for £9.99 on the TV series page of the iTunes website. However if you click any of the advertised box sets on the list, you will find that the prices have remained the same for individual series and have not changed to include any box sets. So if I decide to buy one of these offers, am I going to get a discount when it comes to payment or just pay the price as advertised on the actual page rather than what is shown on the offers. I would rather know in advance.

Sorry, my question above sounds demanding and not very polite. I'm afraid it got published before I had the chance to add thanks in advance to anybody who  can answer the question. I'm using speech to text on iPad and sometimes I do accidentally published things before finishing.

  • Any word yet if Apple will be making a Mac Box Set for Lion?

It seems like they would since they no longer stock the Mac Box Set for Snow Leopard. I need the box set in order to reset my iMac to factory settings and no longer have the original discs. I tried getting replacements through Apple and they said I would have to purchase all the software separatly. I wish Apple would come out with the Lion box set already. I'm trying to avoid purchasing the Snow Leopard, iLife and etc, etc and then a week later a Lion Box Set comes out. I wonder if Lion discs will come out once they reveal the iPhone 5? Thanks!

The short of it is that, until Apple officially announces something, we don't know.
Keep in mind, though- Apple is moving away from physical media, especially disc-based.  Lion is only available by download or USB drive.
We don't know if Apple will ever release a Lion "Box set" with iLife, or by what media/method.  We just don't know.

  • Mac Box Set for iLife '09 and iWork '09 - what does it mean for me?

Apple recently offered the Mac Box Set on their online Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB997
It comes both in family and single user license.
If you recently bought a new Mac on or after January 6, 2009, and it lacked iLife '09 after January 6, 2009, Apple offered an up to date program for iLife:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/uptodate/
    Which says:
The program ends on March 28, 2009. Your order must be postmarked or faxed by April 3, 2009, and received by April 10, 2009.
Assuming it is not extended, I won't ask this tip to be updated.
Since the Mac Box Set includes iLife '09 and iWork '09, check the system requirements below to see if your Mac is able to use that update:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/systemrequirements.html
    http://www.apple.com/iwork/systemrequirements.html
Mac OS X 10.5.6 will run on any PowerPC or Intel Mac that is 867 Mhz or faster with built-in processor (not including the 800 Mhz dual processor Macs or slower), with 512 MB of RAM, and 9 GB of free disk space. Realistically that has been found to be 9 GB+ 15% free of disk space by end users.
    1. If you bought your Mac on or after January 6, getting the iLife up to date, and iWork '09 installer may be the most you'll need to do if your Mac didn't come bundled with iLife '09.
    2. If you bought a new Mac post December 15, 2008 but pre-January 6, buying iLife and iWork separtely is probably the best deal.
    3. If you bought your Mac post October 26, 2007, but pre-December 15, 2008, the Mac Box set will work with your machine, but may not be necessary unless you lack the ability to contact AppleCare, and lack the ability to get the original discs that came with your Mac, and have no other way to install 10.5. Getting a single user license is good if all you have is one Mac that meets those qualifications, and a family pack if you have 5 Macs in the same household that meet those requirements.
    4. Macs purchased prior to October 26, 2007, get the best deal out of the Mac Box Set if they meet the iLife, iWork, and Leopard requirements. Getting a single user license is good if all you have is one Mac that meets those qualifications, and a family pack if you have 5 Macs in the same household that meet those requirements.

Sorry about that, but at this time, this tip is outdated. Remove?

  • 70 song Kiss box set for $1.49?

First off, let me say that I'm not complaining, however, yesterday the new Kiss box set Alive! (1975-2000) was released. I got on iTunes just to see what was on the set and to maybe listen to a little of the songs.
When I got to the songs I noticed that the album, that is now $39.96, was only $1.49. Naturally, I bought the whole 70 song set.
I got my invoice this morning from iTunes and sure enough it says I was billed for $1.49 plus tax.
With that being said, does anyone know why this happened? Again, I'm not complaining, but I'm curious.

  • Why won't a Text Entry Box (set for numbers) allow decimals?

I want the user to enter a decimal number in a TEB, for e.g. 1234.56.
I've set the TEB to accept numbers only. It will accept 123456 but will not accept 1234.56 with a decimal (won't accept a decimal at any number position).
Does anyone know if this is a bug or a restriction of the numbered TEB?

Yes, numbered TEB's don't recognize decimals. You can use a normal TEB, without restriction to numbers.

  • Which Mac Box Set ?

    Hi
I want to upgrade from Tiger (10.4.11) to Snow Leopard.
I understand that I must purchase the Mac Box Set. I want to upgrade one imac which has four user accounts on the one imac.
Do I need to purchase the Box Set for one user or the Box Set for 5 users which appears to offer the ability to load the software on 5 workstations (which i don't want).
    You advice please.

I want to upgrade from Tiger (10.4.11) to Snow Leopard.
I understand that I must purchase the Mac Box Set.
No, that is not necessary. It has been much-discussed here, but there's no difference in the license between the single-user box set and the $29 single-user copy of SL. It's exactly the same OS with exactly the same terms of use. The box set is recommended as "the best way" to upgrade, according to the Apple Store, because it will update old copies of iLife and iWork that may not be very SL-savvy.
I want to upgrade one imac which has four user accounts on the one imac.
The number of user accounts is not controlled by the license. You can have one user or fifteen, for all Apple cares. It would be more accurate to call the "single-user" copy of SL the "single-machine" copy. The license controls how many different machines you can run it on. The 5-user box allows you to run on 5 machines.

  • Unforgettable - Series 2 - Please make it available on Box Set

Please can 'Sky Living' make the box set for series 2 of Unforgettable available. I missed the beginning of that particular series and never bothered to watch the rest as I assumed that when the series finished it would of been avialable before series 3 started. I see series 3 starts this week...............

I think you are going to be out of luck with this as I can't see it being listed to appear via Sky Box sets anytime soon.

  • Fixing up my Box Sets

I've got a whole Mass of Box Sets... and I'd like to put them into my iTunes...
However a few discs in I've noticed that my iTunes is like 4-teers deep of the same
    album artwork...
maybe because I'm still new, or I don't get this whole thing... but I was undering if
iTunes has a feature that allows you to orginize your box sets for example:
    album: box set - title
              box set - vol. title
box set - vol. title (2)
    etc..
but you click on one image and that then opens up the box set and you could see all the vols. and thier titles and songs etc.
am I dreaming? or is this a real thing?

The new software does boot and then complains about being offline but just pressing exit on the remote removes the message and returns you to freeview.

  • Export in iPhoto offers a "Custom" setting for size. The default is 1000. 1000 what? Pixels, centimeters, MB's?

Export in iPhoto offers a "Custom" setting for size.
1000 is the default, but I don't know what 1000 refers to.
    Pixels, centimeters, MB's?
I want to make the photo an 1 inch x 1 inch.
Do I go up or down from the 1000?
    Thanks

    Pixels.
For a 1" x 1" photo first crop the photo square.  Then export  with Kind = Current with JPEF Quality = Maximum and Size = Full size.
Then when you go to print the photo select a 1" x 1" print size.  This will squeeze all available pixels in each dimension into the 1" dimension giving you the highest DPI resolution available from your image file.

  • Iwork 09 box set asking for serial

hi there folks can anyone help with this one....????
I was using the trial of iwork 09 and liked it and decided to buy the box set from the shop, got home uninstalled the trial (which had 10 days left) and proceeded to install the the full version. install went fine until i tried to open pages and it was asking for a serial no.
    any ideas???
    thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
There are many, many posts on this subject in this forum. It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This has changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.

  • I don't have a good good disc for the mac box set can i get it with it my serial no.

I don't have a good good disc for the mac box set can i get it with it my box number?

If this is a new box you just bought ad the disk is bad, Apple will replace it for you.  OTOH, if you have lost the disk or it has become damaged over time, that is your responsibility, and though I don't speak for Apple, I'd be very surprised if you had any option other than buying another copy.

  • Setting for importing Beatles Mono Box Set to iTunes

I just bought the Beatles' Mono Box Set and imported it to iTunes. Because I have tons of room left on both my iPod and Mac, I did something I never do...imported them using the AIFF encoder. (I left the setting on Automatic.) Now, when I look at the info for the files, they show up as Stereo. I don't have a of technical know-how and I'm assuming that this simply means that the songs will play in two channels. (I know that if the original masters are mono they can't actually "play in stereo".) But my question is...would there have been any advantage to my setting the encoder to Custom and the Channels to Mono instead of Stereo? Thanks.

would there have been any advantage to my setting the encoder to Custom and the Channels to Mono instead of Stereo?
With your AIFF settting set to Mono instead of Stereo, the resulting file size would be half the size. Apart from that, there would be no difference.

  • I cannot find my serial numbers for installation anywhere on my CS5 box set?

I received my CS5 box set about 3 years ago and installed it all fine to my MacBook Pro then. I recently wiped and reformatted my Mac as it was becoming slow. All the software was backed up on my hard drive, however after reading forums it sounds like Adobe aren't all inclusive style apps, so need reinstalling with a disk. I have my full box set but when it came to install I cannot find my serial numbers ANYWHERE. When I went onto customer care it shows that they should be on the back of the DVD sleeves. I really need to install these programs back and I'm getting quite frustrated, help?!

    To locate the serial number:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html
You might be able to find your serial number thru your Adobe account online if you registered the products when you originally installed them.
Beyond all that your last hope will be in contacting Adobe support thru chat to see if they can assist:

  • MacBook accepted my entire music collection except for one boxed set.

I downloaded my entire music collection to iTunes on my new MacBook with the exception of one boxed set. I tried the set at my daughter's house and it downloaded there just fine so I put it on my iPod but now when I sync it back at home I'll lose it since it's just a one-way street! Mac to iPod, never iPod to Mac. Is there a fix? Why won't my computer accept this one and only boxed set? (I have a huge collection and this is the only set it has happened with.)

Make sure if it's from a CD, it must either go to AAC or MP3 in order to work on iTunes. WMA, OGG and etc. formats will not work.

  • How can I sort and break out a boxed set download

I recently downloaded one of iTunes' full compilations - various artists, 75 songs in total.
There was also an option to buy smaller sets of these at about 20+ songs per individual set, but I went for it all.
Maybe this is too anal, but I was hoping to burn the 75 onto audio CDs in their order/mix of the smaller sets that iTunes had offered. I don't see how I can do that since all I have is 75 songs added to my library on a certain date with no other useful identifier to help segregate them. The track listings and disk # listings apparently only refer to each song's original artist's album (not the iTunes compiled albums).
This box set isn't offered anymore - at least I can't find it (Valentine's Day - Complete Box Set) so I can't tell how the songs were broken out into their smaller sets.
Am I asking for too much, or is there a way to sort these in their intended order that iTunes had set up?
    15 FP iMac 800mhz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   1gb RAM; 60gb intl/250gb extl HD

    15 FP iMac 800mhz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   1gb RAM; 60gb intl/250gb extl HD

I was mainly looking for an easier way of setting up separate playlists to burn the CDs and not have to select & drag individual songs myself manually. The way they're listed now in my iTunes library is alphabetically by song name, even if I sort by "Date Added".
As for their original order, I've seen iTunes sell compilations like these in subsets such as: "Starter Set", "From Deep in the Vault", "Rarities" or similar categories. If the Music Store had a sales reason to segregate them into specific albums, I assumed (incorrectly) that they would stay in their own 'Albums' once I downloaded them all at once.
Guess I'll just start dragging songs A thru Z over to new playlists and call it good. I appreciate the reply.
