BOYD ISE Native Supplicant Windows 7

Connects to BYOD-SSID
and go through the process, including self registration
once everything is done, my windows machine does not automatically selects certificate (TLS) for authentication
maunally need to go under proprites and select certificate and then it authenticates.
I though this all should be automatic!!!

Are there multiple certificates installed on the client OS at the time of onboarding? Also are you running the latest supplicant provisioning wizard for windows on your ise deployment?
Thanks,

  • IOS 8.x Apple users and CISCO ISE native supplicant provisioning not working

    Hi there guys ,
    I was wondering if anybody else have the following problem:
    Apple iOS 8.x users are not able to register their devices on the ISE portal (native supplicant provisioning).
    After they receive the redirection from the WLC, they freeze. Apple 7.x users have no problem.
    ISE is version 1.2.1.198 patch 2.  WLC is running 8.0.102.14.
    Anybody experienced the same?
    MB

    I am also running ISE 1.2.1.198 patch 2 with 8.0.100.  I am testing with an iPad running IOS 8.1.  The device will register in the registration portal, but is not being classified as an IOS device within client provisioning, I believe.  It is getting profiled as a workstation even though all apple device profiles are enabled.  I have an authorization policy for registered devices, and ipad, iphone, ios devices to gain access to the network without going through posture assessment.  I then have my posture assessment authorization rules with apple IOS devices set for a ssid native supplicant profile.  I keep getting an error page on the iPad when connecting to the ISE SSID saying "Client Provisioning Portal     ISE is not able to apply an access policy to your log-in session at this time.  Please close this browser, wait approximately one minute, and try to connect again".  It gives this message over and over.  If I turn off the posture checking authorization profiles, the IOS device is selected as a rule further down which tells me that ISE does not recognize it as an IOS device in the profiling or client provisioning.

  • ISE 1.2 Windows 8.1 onboarding

    Hello,
    We have some problems with our ISE 1.2 during onboarding BYOD's.
    Onboarding works fine for a lot of devices. But when onboarding a Windows 8.1 laptop we receive the following error:
    "Your device is not supported"
    We using the latest ISE 1.2 patches, the Feed Service has downloaded the latest updates and we use the latest Client Provisioning Resources.
    Please can anyone help us to find and fix this problem?

    Operating Systems Supported by Native Supplicants
    Native supplicants are supported for these operating systems:
    •Android (excluding Amazon Kindle, B&N Nook
    •Mac OS X (for Apple Mac computers)
    •Apple iOS devices (Apple iPod, iPhone and iPad)
    •Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, and XP

  • Native Supplicant "NAK requesting to use PEAP instead"

    Hello,
    We have a Cisco ISE infrastructure in place and we're experiencing seemingly random occurrences of users failing authentication because they're trying PEAP vs EAP. Does anyone know if it is possible to force the native Windows supplicant to use EAP only?
    "Microsoft: Smart Card or other certificate" is selected under network authentication method, by group policy, and I thought that wouldn't allow PEAP, but our ISE logs show "NAK requesting to use PEAP instead", after which authorization
    fails because we're not using PEAP.
    For what it's worth, the user can fail authentication for hours and I can either allow open authentication on the port for a bit, or the user can leave for the day and come back tomorrow and authentication will succeed. I'm not sure if it's an ISE problem or
    a supplicant problem, but I'm leaning towards supplicant.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi,
    About this issue, please contact Cisco Tech Support for help.
    Karen Hu
    TechNet Community Support
    I've already been in contact with them and they've verified our configuration. All that can be done on the Cisco side is to "propose" the client to go through EAP-TLS as the first option, which we are doing. This will not block any clients trying to connect
    using other protocols, and, though this will propose EAP-TLS, there is now way to enforce it at the supplicant level. This will be a client decision always. From Cisco:
    Please monitor this after the  change we applied,   but if the issue persists,   since we are dealing with windows supplicant,   it would be a good idea to involve the native supplicant support.

  • ISE authentication with windows hibernate

    i have ISE 1.2 , machine can't authenticate during hibernate so user must logoff and login again.
    is this applicable on ISE or not?

    If you are using windoze native supplicant, try using anyconnect nam. There is a bug (feature) in the native supplicant that causes it to go brain dead after returning from sleep mode/hibernation. Microsoft has hotfixes for vista and later, but not xp. I've had hit and miss success with these, and that's why I suggest trying anyconnect.

  • Native boot windows 7 ultimate on VHDX

    Hi
    I have been searching around for this but there's seems to be no answer and so I hope Microsoft tech support can help me answer this.
    I have a PC which I want to dual boot windows 7 Ultimate and windows 8.1 Professional, both on vhdx.
    First I installed windows 7 ultimate onto a VHD and it is able to boot natively.
    I then install windows 8.1 professional onto a VHDX and now it can dual boot both win7 and win8.1 natively (vhd and vhdx respectively) with win8 boot menu.
    Then I boot into win7 and installed kb980218 (to support 4096 disk), and converted the image from vhd to vhdx and set the physicalsize to 4096.
    Next the boot entry has been amended and point to this new win7 vhdx.
    However when I try to boot into this new win7 vhdx, it doesn't boot up and instead goes into recovery mode, the error is "boot configuration is corrupt" when trying to repair it. FYI, booting into win8 vhdx still works fine.
    My question is given the system partition boot environment is windows 8.1 as in this case (requirement of native boot), can you natively boot windows 7 in vhdx????? If so how to make this work? (there should be no difference to the guest OS whether
    its' a vhd or vhdx and so given the boot environment is windows 8, my guess is it should work)
    And if not, can windows 7 install in vhdx and run inside a virtual machine (e.g., with Host OS as windows 8)
    Thank you.
    John

    >If so how to make this work? (there should be no difference to the guest OS whether its' a vhd or vhdx and so given the boot environment is windows 8, my guess is it should work)
    I've never tried this and not likely to, but the base OS definitely needs
    to know how to access a VHDX and since Windows 7 predates VHDX, I suspect
    it can't be done.
    Once the Windows 8 boot loader passes the running off to Windows 7, it's
    got to have a driver to access the disk, and it doesn't.
    It's basically the same problem as trying to dual boot Windows XP in a
    VHD...

  • ISE with per-windows 2000 domain

    Hi
    I am experiencing a problem with AD authentication.
    I have joined the ISE appliance to the windows AD and I can browse the groups and attributes.
    But the problem I am experincing is that the users logon to the domain using the pre-windows 2000 domain name.
    FQDN format : ab.cdef.com       - ISE is joined to this
    pre-windows 2000 name : abcd  - Users logon with this
    So wen the users authenticate I get the following error : 22056 Subject not found in the applicable identity store.
    Also tried to logon with [email protected] with no luck.
    Does someone have any suggestions?
    Thanks

    The 802.11 Mac Layer is a bit longer than the ethernet mac layer. This sometimes cause problem with domain login because they are done using UDP by default. The frame are sometime drop. To test if this is your problem, I recomand changing the MTU on the 2000server(DC) and the host to something lesser than the actuel MTU on the interface. (configure the DC and host @1300 leaving the network @1500)
    A Windows 2003 server as a default mtu of 13?? something to get around this problem. I usaully tell my users to install the cisco vpn client if they want to use domain in wireless because the installation of this client lower the MTU of every interface to 1300.
    Another path you can look into is forcing kerberos to use TCP insted of UDP. (look on MS TechNet for method)

    I want to know under which option i can create Window Firewall requirement.

    Registry Key:
    HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile

    If the XP Firewall is on the Value will be = to “1”

    My question is: how to deal with the Native code if what I receive is this:
    Java code:
    public native void paint(Graphics g);
    C++ generated code:
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_jnitest2_JNILink_paint(JNIEnv *jenv, jobject jobj, jobject jobj2)
    What do I have to do to link the jobject to a Windows Graphics component?
    Thanks,
    Carles.

    Check jawt.h file in the include subdirectory of your JDK. It contains sample of native drawing to the canvas.

  • Moving a native (external) window in Xorg

    I am trying to figure out how I can move a window using the JNI and Xorg. I know the title of the window I am trying to move but I can't find any documentation about finding the window handle or moving the window.
    Can anyone help me out (some pointers to start with would be great).

    X isn't all that easy to trudge through. Here's what you want though:
    http://tronche.com/gui/x/xlib/
    http://tronche.com/gui/x/xlib/window/XMoveWindow.html
    Assuming you have used JNI before (if not, you'll probably need a tutorial or two to get started):
    #include "/usr/include/X11/Xlib.h"
    Display *display = XOpenDisplay(NULL);
    Window wnd;
    JNIEXPORT etc. etc. etc. {
        if(display == NULL){
            printf("Could not open display\n");
            return;
        wnd = ... // get the window you want
        XMoveWindow(...);
        return;
    }Note that when you compile it, you need to link it to the X11 library. Something like this:
    g++ -lX11 -shared -o libwhatever.so -I/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.00/include/ -I/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.00/include/linux whatever.cpp
    Keep your eye on [http://codequirks.blogspot.com/|http://codequirks.blogspot.com/] - probably going to be some posts about using X with JNI soon.

  • Take screenshot in native mac/windows systems

    Hi, I know it is possible to take a screenshot of an AIR
    window, but is it possible to take a screenshot of a windows/mac
    desktop?
    If it is not possible to do that, is this a feature to add in
    the current roadmap?
    Thanks,
    Pau

    No it is not possible.
    To make a feature request go to
    http://www.adobe.com/go/wish
    (the more people who request a feature, the higher priority a
    feature will receive in future development plans).

  • Native logic windows (like 'Go To') have a SLOW 'spring' animation

    I'm new to Mountain Lion, and the first thing I've noticed while trying to get any work done, is hitting "Go To" to open the "GO To Position" window results in the window opening with this really silly spring/zoom effect.  I've tried everything I can think of, and I can't get rid of it.
    I move FAST in Logic, and I'm used to not pausing after hitting my 'go to' key.  I'll hit "goto" and then immediate the Time Code or Bar number.
    However, now, my input doesn't take because I'm doing it while that spring/zoom thing is happening.
    I've tried disabling the 'spring folders' preference in Finder, and removed "Animate opening info panels and desktop icons" via TinkerTool.
    Can anyone help me solve this problem?  It's a major groovebuster.

    Yet another reason not to move to the ugly ML beast.
    Sorry to be of no help, the "Go To" key command windows open lightning fast (as you know) in Snow Leopard.
    I wonder if it's yet another symptom of the graphics slow down problem that has plagued other users.The one where Logic freezes if a plugin with an animated graphic interface is opened. (Logic's channel eq in hi-res analyze mode)
