BP Roles List

Hey folks,
Anyone know where i can find a list of BP roles, or specifically tr1051?
im getting an error when i try to start a transaction with this new bp.

Roles missing in available role list at import role option

We have sap boxi 3.1 and sap integration kit both with SP2.
we configure sap authentication in the CMC.
The entitlement system is configured with a user that has no restriction in sap (SAP ALL user).
We have approximately 1400 roles in our BW client
In the available roles list at the import role tab we can see only 220-230 roles.
The list is randomly.
When we configure another bw client as a different entitlement system,
we receive approximately 280 roles out of 1380.
It looks like we are missing some buffer size configuration.
Any ideas ??

Thanks a lot.
Yes, the user in the CMC has SAP ALL credential, and is allowed to see all BW roles.
The missing roles are indeed those that are not assigned to any user.

Room Role List iview

Hi All,
I created a collaboration room with SAP provided standard template which contains Overview page, Discussion page etc...
While clicking on Overview page, I am getting the My Rooms iview and Room Role List iview in DTN.
The iviews are visible only in the overview page. I guess the iviews are added in Dynamic Navigation. I want to remove Room Role List iview.
I was not able to locate where its added in dynamic navigation.
How to find the location of the iview and how to remove it from DTN.

Hi Inna,
just tested this with SPS 17. Works like expected. The window opens with 400x500 pixels (not really "maximized", but "as big as usual").

Roles are using in Projects for two goals -
A) a basis for project-based security. You might create roles as project roles and assign people to the role in a project. For example, project manger, project admin, project billing person, etc. You then might configure the security access to forms and functions of specific roles.
B) when implementing Proejct Resource Management, the project roles may be scheduled on a project and serve as a template for resource demand. In that case you might configure the team member role on a project, such as competencies, job information, and security.
You might want to review Oracle Projects Fundamentals and Projects Implementation Guide for more details.

How can I get the portal entitlement role list by API?
If I use
RolePolicyManager.listRolesForResource(String anEntAppName,
String aWebAppName,
String aResourceId)
How can I specified the aResourceId such that the roles of entire portal will
be retreived?
Or it is just a wrong approach? Thx a lot!!

in a EJB stateless session bean is it possible to retrieve, by EJB context, the list of configured roles related to the current user?

Based on the link given here is the xml. This XML already exists in the application and has such structure

How to get role list which has a particular infoobject

hi all,
i need to find the list of all roles in LIVE system where a particular infoobject is used and its respective value stored in that role.
because we have some 100 roles totally, and is cumbersome to check each role in PFCG manually.
is there any table / any other way to get this list?

ERM : selection of roles listed in multiple pages

In ERM, we cannot select roles more than what all are shown at current page (for say export or mass maintenance)...Is this a limitation of the product or any configuration setting is possible to address this.

I hope I understand your question and the solution is,
Suppose you want to do Mass Maintenance in ERM and you are searching roles on your specific criteria. Now the system given output of 100 roles. But the current page is showing only 8 rows per page. You want to see all 100 rows in this single page.
In the buttom of the nevigation screen you can see Rows per page . Here it is showing 8.
But Total Number of Records is 100 showing. Just replace 8 with 100 in the Rows per page and press the tab key. It will show you all 100 rows in this current page 100%.
Your problem will be resolve by doing this exercise.

"New Role" listed in failover cluster manager

This has appeared in my failover cluster manager & I'm not certain what it is. I'm not experiencing any issues at the moment. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

GetPicklistValues - Get pick list values for Account Contact Roles

Is it possible to retreive the picklist values for the Accounts contact roles through the GetPicklistValues API? If so, what are the correct object type and field name.
Based on the documentation I'm guessing this isn't possible, just looking for confirmation.

BHOLD Default Supervisor not showing up in drop down list when trying to add a role.

Hi All,
I am trying to add a new role to one of my BHOLD installations, and when I do that I do not have a "default supervisor role" listed in the drop down. A supervisor role is required to be able to create a role. I am performing the operation as a
B1 admin with the default supervisor role.
In another installation I can do it just fine. I have found no delta between the two as far as permissions are concerned. Anyone have an idea? Thanks.

Do you have a large number or roles, as in >500, maybe 1000s? I have seen an issue where a customer had 1000s of roles. There are some SPROCs that look for top 500 or something similar. I think a workaround was to change the SPROCs, not saying your should
do that necessarily but I believe that is what they did to get around this.

Hundreds of roles for a J2EE application using SSO/OID

We are starting to develope a J2EE software that will have hundreds of logical roles. These logical roles must be assignable to users and groups on OID.
When prototyping this scenario, we were not able to make this work well enough. Namely, in OIDDAS (which will be used by the end users to administrate users), all the "role groups" and user groups are always shown in one listing.
Ideally, what we would want is to only have configurable user groups visible in OIDDAS and all the fine-grained roles would be assignable to users and groups separately. Tthe "Roles Assignment" section in user/group edit screen is quite close to the idea though having hundreds of low-level roles listed there will make administration a bit complex.
We have also considered hiding the raw "role groups" from OID by moving the low-level administration to Enterprise Manager, where multiple logical roles would be mapped to composite OID groups. However, we currently don't see this as a viable option since we don't want to allow normal login administrators access to OEM where they can break too many things.
How have you guys solved the problem of mapping hundreds of roles to user-configurable groups and users? What would you suggest? Is our planned approach (map logical roles to LDAP groups) the wrong way to try to solve the issue? What would be a better way?

My requirement is such that I have to fetch nodes from WLP content management system and all the associated data (content, security related info) with that node. Since security for a particular node is in the form of roles, I need to fetch the roles list for the node under processing.
However my application requirement is such that any user can ask for retrieval of node(its contents). In that case I need to check whether user lies in the list of roles defined for the current node (node for which user asked).
Thus my requirement becomes: Checking whether a user is in the given list of roles.
A careful investigation if the API's helped me find out a method isUserInRole(role, rolemap), but this method provides information for the logged in user only.
My application will login thru admin credentials(weblogic, weblogic) and will chekc other users say bryan, linda are in the roles list of the nodes under procesing.
Please guide.

Report on portal User ID and Assign Roles for all portal users

I would like to know , is there way that we can get a report which shows all the portal user ids with there assign portal roles. If we can't get this from portal. Can we get it from Oracle database ?
What are the oracle tables and fields which store this information?
If nay one have a custom develop iview for this please let me know

as Pascal stated (and as I did above), if developing within the portal is not really new for you, playing around with the UME API is really more or less trivial.
Check Portal User and Role info as well as User to Role listing for similar requests and code hints / further links.

Assigning role to role doesn't work when applying Database security model

I applied Oracle Database security model for BI Publisher.
then I create some roles and users and assigned roles to users in Oracle Database.
i also assigned appropriate folders to each role in BI Publisher.
the users with direct roles worked successfully but i got problem when i assigned roles to a super role, and assigned this role to a super user.
the super user could only access guest folder.
Please help me.

Add a Role to a Role:
1. From the Security Center, select Roles and Permissions; this will invoke the
Security Center page. Here you can see the list of existing roles and permissions.
2. Select the Add Roles icon for the Role.
3. Select the desired role from the Available Roles list and use the Move shuttle
button to move it to the Included Roles.

Group-Role Mapping OBIEE 11.1.1.6

Scenario:
I have created some groups in console. Let the groups be
A, B, C and D.
Now I want to create a role call it Manager and map A,B, C and D groups to Manager role in EM. And then give permissions (like Dashboard access) on Manager role.
Issue:
When I try to map A,B,C and D to Manager role and check for user that belongs to group A, in his My Account, I don't see Manager role listed there.
But if I create roles A,B,C and D and map them to groups A,B,C and D respectively. And then map A,B,C and D role to Manager role, then in the user's My Account, I see Manager role.
Question:
1) What could be the problem? Is it necessary that group name and the role name to which it is mapped be same?
2) Is there any way to automate mapping group from console to role in EM? We are planning to populate groups from a database table (around 2000 groups) and mapping them to roles would be very time consuming.
Please help.

Hi,
When you are adding permissions to policies in "Add permission" window select "Permissions" and "Permission Class" = oracle.security.jps.ResourcePermission (filter leave empty) and click search. You will find required permissions on the list.
