BPC 10.0 NW - Change technical cube name during transport

Hej gurus,
One of our users have run a full optimization, and therefore the technical names of the cubes in DEV and PRD are no longer the same.
We have looked at the SAP notes, and found the following.
1689814 – “Stabilize InfoCube's technical name in the modeling process”
We have made sure the note is on both DEV and PRD, and we have enabled "ENABLE_FIXED_CUBENAME" on all models. By doing this the notes states that: "If the InfoCube technical names of the model are different between source and target system, the technical name of the InfoCube on target system would be changed to the same as the technical name of the InfoCube on source system."
When I run the transport, the transport is succesfull, but the technical name has not changed.
Therfore, I would like to know, if anybody have tried using this note and successfully changed the technical name? If yes, what did you exactly do? Did you transport everything for making it work? clear the database?

Hi Mikkel,
Did you have any luck with this? The only time I had any luck was changing the target structure (adding a dimension in the target), when the transport went through it changed the structure and reset the technical name to the source name. It doesn't appear to work if the technical name is not due to be reset.

Dynamic change of Adapter Engine during transport

Hello All,
I am trying to understand the following, can some one explain me how and what changes are done to get this working.
so if you check both the images, in the Dev box (first image), we use central adapter engine and after transport to Quality box the adapter engine is automatically changed to af.qpp.qppdb1.
I want to understand how and what config changes are done in order to get the new adapter engine name changed automatically. I tried to search some forums but all in vain.
Answers will be rewarded for sure.

In fact the adapter engine linked to the integration engine in our configuration is wrong.
Whetever we are trying to do through sxmb_adm it remain the same.
If you are going to vhange the IE configuration ...It will not remain the same....
Execute the TCode SXMB_ADM goto Integration Engine Configuration
you can modify your Configuration as per Requirement..

Does anyone know how to change the database name during the XE installation?

Just remember, especially if you are coming from the Microsoft SQL Server or the MySQL world ...
One MySQL or SQL Server database is roughly one Oracle Schema. You can have any number of Schemas in an Oracle database. It may not be necessary to have a different database name, or multiple XE databases.

Changing a member name in Essbase

In my ASO cube - I need to change both a level 0 and parent member name in EAS. Is it as easy as edit member properties and typing in the new name? Does the existing data follow? Also, does going from lower case to upper case create a similar change in the outline?

Also, does going from lower case to upper case create a similar change in the outline?you can also use rule file to change the alias name if you are trying to change the alias name in bulk, but if you have to do for few members then goto edit member properties and change the alias it will be an easy process,
change of alias name doesnot harm your datayes going from Lower Case to Upper Case create similar change to outline

How to get the Change Log Table name of the ODS from the system table

Hi,
I have a list of ODSs in the system and I am interested in finding the corresponding Change Log Table and the number of records in that table.
Can any one please tell me the name of the system table where this information is stored.
I dont want to get in this information manully (from the Contents tab of the ODS maintenane).

Give the table name as "RSTSODS".
For User application field give CHANGELOG as input
and execute. You will get all the list of Changelog tables Along with below mentioned data

Is it possible to change the font name and size without having to compile?

We have one requirement that we need to change the font name and font size at run time dynamically without having to compile all the forms in 6i.
Is there any way or work around to achieve the same.Kindly suggest us.
something like using uifont.ali or forms60_defaultfont, or set_item_property

Thanks for your updates, Technically what both of you said is correct. but in application server we used something like ClientDPI to match the client server font with the application server, i need to know that is there anyother way something like this...?
I have read one document(Note:28397.1 in metalink) saying that using uifont.ali file we can change the font at run time, but i have used this only for report

Display Technical Field Names within a Transaction Screen

Hi All,
Someone once showed me how to do this and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it in ECC 6.0.
I would like to display the technical field names of all fields in a transaction. It is important to note that I am not looking for the F1...Technical Details solution. I am well aware that the technical field name can be retrieved by this method. I am really looking to see all the technical names of the fields in a particular transaction without a lot of clicking and searching.
When I saw this before you could quickly change from technical field names to short field names and vise versa.
I know this could also be accomplished in SE11 or SE16 - but that is not exactly what I am looking for.
Can anyone help??

You can't always get what you want.
There is no such functionality for standard transactions.

Output Technical Field Names in the SAP query Output

Hi Experts,
I am new to SAP Query/ABAP Query or Quick Viewer. Just would like to know if there is a way whereby I can print the technical field names as opposed to the English field headers. For example I want to print BUKRS in the place of CoCode.
I have a vague feeling this could be possible through custom coding in SQ02 but have no idea which code section to choose.Any inputs greatly appreciated.

Open your infoset in SQ02, by default in the left hand side you'll be having the tables that you have selected, double click the field name which you want change the long text, it will open a attributes window below your field group. Change the header data text as you wish.

Changing tab page name

In the web client, How do you go about changing tab page names. For instance, the tab page default on complaints transaction has a heading called technical analysis. I want to change it to just analysis. I looked in the tab groups I see the event with the tab name, however, it can't be modified there? can someone enlighten me on where this modification can be made?

Amory, in order to change the actual name of the tab (read: event), every tab is associated with an event, lookup Tab Group, CPL_ODC1, here you see a View Swith Group assigned 'S10_HD_ANA'. When you lookup this View Swith Group, you see the description 'Technical Analysis'. Copy both this entry and replace it's description accordingly. Then copy the tab group and refer to the newly created View Switch Group. After this create an entry in the BAB tables for your application for the event S10_HD_TREE_ANALYSIS and refer also to you newly created tab group. Hope this helpes, Tiest.

Change the label names in Shopping Cart for LATAM countries..

We are implementing SRM for LATAM countries. The portuguese & spanish language here are different than those in Portugal & Spain.
The translations that are coming for these countries are different than what SAP as a standard is offering.
In view of this, to list some of the issues as below -->
The word u201CSolicitaru201D (which means Order in English) they want to replace it as u201CEnviaru201D, this is more usual in the LATAM spanish language to send for approval.
The other one is u201CTartaru201D (which means Edit in english) they want it to replace with word is u201CEditaru201D.
Can we change these label names without affecting the Portugal & Spain translations which the user there are already fine with.

Hola,
You can do it in the component configuration;
-Goto se80 to the component FPM_OIF_COMPONENT and configuration /SAPSRM/WDCC_FPM_OIF_SC_PROFNL (or what you want, you can see it in technical settings in the portal)
- Choose "Start Configurator" and change
- Choose your button and change the label in the field "Identif"

How to Change the Visible names in JDBC IView ?

While Creating a JDBC View, in one of the steps we select the column names from a schema which we want to view in a IView.While doing so in the next step there is a text field called visible names which is editable to change the column names.How to change the Column aliases or visibles names as is it not getting saved when we move onto the next screen ?.How to Configure the Visible Column names while configuring a JDBC IView ?.

If I'm not wrong I saw something about this here (SDN), in a technical article about how to create a JDBC iView . I tried to get the link to the article but it seems there's a problem with the site, sorry...
By the way, I had the same problem, and according to the article this was not possible in the version EP6 SP2 but there was a plan to implement this in newer versions. I tried also to use a SQL command with the column names I wish to display but it didn't work either.
Try to find this article in the EP Technical Article to confirm this info, ok ?
